Always get excellent service I come. Â Very relaxed vibe, clean place with nice furniture to lounge on. Â Whenever I go to a hookah place I always ask the waiter if they have any concoctions they've come up with themselves because I find these to be the best bowls and haven't been let down at Natalie's yet. Â I guess you could make the knock that there isn't a ton of space but I prefer that, keeps out too much riff-raff!
Review Source:Nice little place! Maybe it's just because I'm SoCal, but I found their prices to be very reasonable. The place looks like a lousy hole in the wall from the outside, but the inside was well-kept and comfortable. There was good music, but it wasn't blasting so loud it drowned us out. At our servers suggestion, we went with an Irish Peach (same flavor as a Fuzzy Navel, but stronger) and I really liked it. The person I went with not so much, but she can be a picky pain-in-the-butt so that's ok. Someone regularly came around to change our coals, which is much nicer than the places where you have to hunt them down and ask. I wish I'd known it was BYOB or that they had some sort of beverage available.
It's not as fancy/trendy as Kush, and you'd walk right by it if you didn't know it was there (despite it being right on the square), so your chance of running into stumbling drunk skanked up people goes significantly down!
Denton's all grown up! It's got a hookah lounge!
Wow. Been awhile since I've been to Denton, so I was surprised to find Natalie's. Pleasantly surprised.
Decor: Clean, spacious and arrayed with comfortable chairs and sofas, it offered an enjoyable ambiance. The music (on speakers) was also pretty decent and all in all, it offered a better atmosphere than a lot of hookah lounges I've been to. That said, if I were to nit-pick, I think the lighting is too bright for a hookah lounge and I wish it had alcoves and nooks for throw pillows and floor seating. Alas, not too many hookah lounges do that right these days and my favorite, the Addision Velvet Hookah, is now closed. Still, Natalie's has a better decor than many other hookah joints and I appreciate that.
The other problem with the "decor"--too many guys! Where are all the women? I guess it's a bit more "authentic" in that most Middle Eastern hookah lounges are filled with guys and only a few women, but damn, this is one area where I prefer the Western version!
Service: Great! Fun, flirty and sweet hostess/waitress took care of us and steered us well in terms of choices for hookahs. She was very helpful and attentive, making sure the coals were always hot for the hookahs, and I couldn't have asked for more. Plus, she was rockin' some cool tattoos and I always consider that a bonus.
Hookahs: We got two. A peach one and I think something with the word "orgasm" in the title. The peach hookah was mild and sweet, while the orgasm-esque one was pungent and powerful--I liked the latter better, but both were excellent and they were two of the better hookahs I've had over the years. Quality stuff--they didn't skimp on the shisha.
Drinks and Desserts: It's a BYOB place, so we went out and got beers from a store around the corner. Didn't eat (not sure if they even have food on the menu) or drink (they do offer non-alcoholic drinks) anything there, so can't speak to it.
All in all, a great hookah joint and a fun place to lounge with a few friends for a couple of hours.
This is the only hookah lounge I've ever been to, so I can't say if the prices are reasonable. Â They are good enough for me. They have just updated the look of the lounge, new couches and tables. Â The lounge is big; there are numerous spaces where you and your friends can chill. Â The staff is very personable and make sure to tend to your hookah. Â You can also buy waters, energy drinks, and snacks. Â They offer free wi-fi and are open late till 3am.
