Been there twice now.
First visit was on a weeknight and place was empty. I got the churasco steak which was good not great. I also had the three cheese Mac n cheese which was bland. Service was friendly and attentive. (There was only 1 other table)
Second visit was very different. Went on a Saturday night. Place was mostly full with 1 or 2 empty tables. Appetizers were very good. Wings, nachos, and calamari. I recommend all three. I got a burger and fries. Burger was overcooked and the fries were the best part. Here is the bad part. They must have been having a problem in the kitchen. Table behind us was yelling at waitress because food was taking so long. Same thing happened to us. We were in a group of 6. When food was finally ready 5 of our dinners came out and 1 person had to wait almost an additional 10 minutes for a turkey panini.
Won't be rushing back there anytime soon on the weekend.
I'm so happy to see Frenchtown being revitalized! It's such a cute town in a perfect location, and this restaurant fits in nicely. Â The interior design in the dining room is fantastic- old pine floors, big windows, it's a great building. The staff was very polite and helpful. We all loved our meal. They have so many different kinds of things to offer and some great specials too! I liked that it wasn't the same old food. I had roasted oysters with chipotle sauce to start, and it was just fantastic! I've never seen anything similar offered elsewhere. Â We were at dinner for a good 3 hours or so, and we just really enjoyed trying all sorts of food and just talking and hanging out at the restaurant. There is also a great little porch out front if the weather is good, plus after dinner you can take a walk down to the river to get some air. I'll be back!
Review Source:We stopped here for lunch on a weekday. Â There were four of us. Â Two had the fish and chips, one had ahi tuna sliders, and I had the Cubano sandwich. Â My dad and bro loved the fish and chips...not too greasy, great batter. Â Hubby had the ahi tuna sliders and he was really happy with his choice...delicious. Â The Cubano sandwich was very tasty and could only manage half and took the other half home. Â Everyone agreed the fries were fantastic. Â The hotel was built in the 1830s and was attractive on the outside with a covered porch, hanging baskets of flowers, and some seating outside. Â Inside the tables were cloth covered, the ceiling tiles were tin, and the building was charming and old...loved it. Â Enjoyed looking at the old photographs and stories about the building and area, too. Â Would not hesitate to come again...do give it a try if you are in the area!
