    Flatbreads now.

service sucked, the pizza was good, but our waiter came to our table twice and never refilled our drinks, offered napkins, or did anything that warranted a tip.

so here's my tip -- don't piss into the wind.

there were people waiting for take-out pizza that were there for 25 minutes and he looked pissed. there was also a table there that ordered a salad with some kind of cheese. The salad came out and there was no cheese. Good job.

Pizza was good but everything else is sub-par

This is for Flatbreads. The pizza is perfection! Kids will devour the plain cheese, and grown-ups will love the gourmet, organic toppings. Salads are yummy. The pomogranate ginger mojito is worth the ferry ride. Lovely, funky patio al fresco. We love this place.

This review is for the new version of Nectar's, Flatbread Pizza.  We heard on the local  radio station an interview with the Boston comedian, Lenny Clarke that he would be performing at Flatbread Pizza.  He went on and on about how great the pizza is - come on in and have dinner before the show, yadda yadda yadda.  We ordered our tickets online for the 9:30 pm show and specifically called Flatbread to confirm that they were serving dinner that night before the show.  I should have taken this as a warning because the person I spoke with sounded distracted and completely clueless about the place.  We arrive at 7:45 pm to a line of people waiting to be seated for dinner.  A woman finally comes out to the entrance to abruptly announce in a panicked voice that they are no longer serving dinner but we could order take out.  TAKE OUT??? To where? Our car in the dark parking lot ??  This place, no matter who manages it, can never seem to get it's act together.

Came here for The Boogies show in July and had an awesome night. The Boogies just flat out rocked Nectars, but the venue is nice sized, has a nice sized bar (with cheap drinks!). The bartenders and bouncers are really cool. I'd come back in a heartbeat to check out another show here. Just know, this place is in the middle of nowhere and sort of off the beaten path. GPS is a good idea when trying to find it.

We went to Flatbread Pizza for lunch and were very pleased.  The pizza and salad was really very good.  Our kids loved the pizza.  We actually ordered more pizza as our finicky 7 year old couldn't stop eating it.  Only criticsim would be that the food is a bit pricey, but high quality.  I'd recommend the restaurant.  I think that the other more favorable reviews are more on target.

I walked into Flatbread at the Martha's Vineyard Airport location. This review is about the slow and often apologetic staff and location that is unfortunately not well trained, not well staffed and often overwhelmed.

I can't judge the food as NOBODY could seat me for me to spend money there. Instead I was lavished with free coupons for a return visit which I refused to accept and walked away while they were trying to get them dumped on me. It's not about paying for my meal, it was about getting acknowledged when I walked in the door. It was about being seated and not overlooked 3 times. The threat of me sitting at the table (if I was to stay), waiting for waitress service and then the wait for my pizza wondering if it's ever going to show up. They couldn't seat me and left me with a bewilderment about "if I was to stay" and how that would be so I opted to leave. It's my fault I didn't hang for the hostess to seek me out. UGGGH..

The manager was just anointed in June and didn't have the corporate office adequately staff this summer location. The regional assistant manager I spoke with was the shining bright spot for the night but he too was there on a mission to help out this poor and understaffed flat bread. This was a bomb!

The bill for 2 families of 4, w/ children aged 8-14, for 4  lg pizza, 3 adult beverages and 1 family style salad for 4 was $150.  Meat from Farm Institute on pizza was cooked like rubber.   Prices do not appear outrageous on menu, but what they charge for drinks and pizza of the day must be outrageous.    The lg "flatbread"  is equivalent to size of lg pizza.  Waitress stated needed a large for 2 children ages 8 / 12....taking tourists for a ride.  Caution!!!

This review is for Flatbread, the restaurant inside Nectar's. Simple menu around flatbreads, organic ingredient focus, but everything we had was excellent. They have a take out or take & bake option that I would definitely take advantage of in the future.

We were too early for live music, but the atmosphere was fun. A little funky, very relaxed and it felt like a good island find. My 9 year old was with us & left giving this an enthusiastic "5 stars on Yelp"

Nectar's is the most recent business to attach itself to this infamous location, once the home of The Hot Tin Roof. The building lies in the middle of the island, just off the road to the airport, and I highly recommend a trip over just to breathe in the air of one of the most celebrated night clubs in history. Sadly, The Hot Tin Roof is gone, supplanted by Nectar's.

In its days of glory, the HTR was THE destination for anyone who appreciated hearing first class, live music in a relatively small venue, on an island famous for a very relaxed lifestyle. Carly Simon was one of the owners, which certainly helped attract all kinds of major talent. We rubbed elbows with folk musicians like Tom Rush and James Taylor, and we danced the night away to the sounds of Barrington Levi and Jimmy Cliff. The Blind Boys of Alabama, The Neville Brothers, James and John Belushi and Dan Ackroyd, Peter Tosh and Dizzy Gillespie all graced the stage here. You never knew who would show up in the audience from Jackie O. to William Styron to John Travolta. It was so much fun. It was THE spot to go every summer, even if you had to sleep out under the moon once the party was over. We were happy, very happy.

But this is a review about Nectar's.

After the crowd at The Hot Tin Roof switched from cocaine to Rogaine, died, divorced and moved away, the place floundered and lost its identity. It became The Outerland for three years, where it slid deeper into the muck. A couple of big shows each year salvaged the place somewhat, but the island owners sold out to some fellows from upstate Vermont who discovered the band Phish and turned the space into Nectar's, sharing it with Flatbread Pizza.

Their identity seems rooted in reggae, which is not a bad thing. Look at their logo and they are clearly sending a message about their affection for the Jamaican sound. They also like to comment on the diversity of their shows. Diversity is my mantra, but in this case it waters down the mission and identity of this venue. Who do they cater to? Will I feel comfortable here? Will my kids? My parents?

They have local musicians in a lot, some with world wide name recognition like Willy Mason, and others who are just sweet island kids dreaming away. The Boogies, a popular bunch of 50 somethings, draw a big crowd for Halloween dance parties. But this place can only draw a solid crowd for about three months of the year and the nights of partying with big name stars are long gone. The biggest nights seem to be the reggae nights. They bring out a young crowd who like beer, dancing hard and avoiding their parents who might also be in the audience.

There's plenty of parking and the open space is enhanced by the famous Margot Datz murals, which are a must see. There's minimal seating which people have always grumbled about, especially if they are paying big money just to get inside. The acoustics are not great. (Ask the musicians.) A VIP section in the rear offers tables and booths you can relax in and look down on the dance floor, but it's distant and hard to see the stage. A very cute outdoor space awaits if you need a break from the crowd or some fresh air.

The pizza is good but the service is just beyond slow. On one occasion this summer, our drinks looked like they were finally on their way 40 minutes after we ordered them. When the waitress spilled the tray, off she went to recreate the order, taking another 20 minutes. And we got charged for the drinks she spilled, which was a great big No No.

As times change and we all adjust to these shifts, we try to accept new ideas, new owners, new friends. The magic and the sparkle have left this little place, but so have many of the patrons, musicians and stars who rocked out here. Let's hope Nectar's finds a solid identity and features some music that appeals to everyone all over New England.

    RIP HTR.

The restaurant is called Flatbread. It is inside a nightclub called Nectar's. People might have trouble finding this listing.

I ordered take-out on a rainy Monday at 5:30 and there was a 45 minute wait. Initially their phone system put me into "please dial your extension" mode, and eventually took me to a mailbox that was full. After repeated tries, someone finally answered.

I thought the pizza was average. The crust was thin and droopy, with wide margins of bare dough around the edges of the pizza. My wife loved the non-dairy pizza, which many places don't make, or don't make well.

Hint: heat up the oven before you leave to pick up your pizza. It might be a bit cold by the time you get home.

So before going to Nectar's I looked up the website to try to find pictures of this place since I was going to see a band there. (Ernie and The Automatics)

Lets just say when we drove up to this place, it was a cross between a western and a scary movie. It's a venue all by itself in the WOODS by the airport on MV, the type of place you'd see tumbleweeds rollin by with a guy in a mask standing by waiting to grab you. Sort of creepy. When I walked in, I had to stop an asked myself, "Am I in Martha's Vineyard or Maine??".... It definitely was a honky tonk, hill billy kind of place.

The tables, well they're no ordinary tables... half of the place has regular tables, a quarter of the place has picnic tables (yes, indoors) and the other quarter has impossible booths. I will tell you why they are impossible booths.... because they are impossible TO GET INTO! lol... My friend moved the table out and then once my friend sat in the booth he pushed the table back towards her like she was sitting in a highchair. The legs of this booth were against the seating area so you can't slide right in.  You literally must crawl into the booth to be seated or sit with your legs sticking out.

The drinks,... STICK TO BEER!!! If you order a cran and vodka, your going to get a glass of cran.  If you order a pineapple juice and barcardi, your going to get pineapple juice, if you order a beer,... well they can't fahk that one up... catch my drift? After a certain time of night they stop serving drinks at your table and they only serve pizza by the slice.  We ordered a full pizza right before the cut off time. Phew!! The pizza was good ol' brick oven pizza. Though I think they ran out of pepperoni's and replaced them with sausage figuring I wouldn't know the difference.  The best part about the pizza was the crust,.. yes it was amazing. My sis got a salad topped with seaweed,... hey whatever floats your boat right?

Ernie and the Automatics sounded great, people danced and had a good time. Thank goodness for the interesting locals and tourist.  Makes a good time for people watching.  Overall I had a great time at this place minus the decor, service, and quality.
