This is the pizza I miss. A sturdy yet chewy crust, a flavorful but not dominating sauce, and enough cheese to hold it all together. If I could move this place back to Austin with me I would!
I had their personal pizza special; pepperoni, mushroom, and onion. Alas, no green olives, but the onions more than made up for it. Plenty enough for one, and drink was included. Roughly the cost of your average value meal but 10x the satisfaction.
Their location is unassuming. Past the lights of the hotels and national chain alley, down the road at a local feel strip mall by a Dollar Store. If you're a traveler pass up the familiar chain lights and head here. You'll be we'll rewarded with a peaceful meal and a good value.
We were visiting from out of town and while exploring yelp for a good and casual pizza place, we found this locally owned business with a 5 star review. Â We drove out of the way to get to it, and it was definitely worth it! Â First off, the employees were extremely helpful and very nice. Â The pizzas and salad were absolutely delicious! Â Their homemade salad dressing was so good that we bought some to bring home with us! Â When visiting the Springfield area, we will definitely go back!
Review Source:Ok, it only took me 2 visits to find my "fave" at this place. It's a perfect lunch spot and very reasonable! I get the personal-sized pizza with a drink special for right at $5 and add a tasty garden salad for a buck fifty more- great with the house (french-style) dressing. They pretty much cater to whatever you like so I'll just share "my" preference: bacon, spinach and chicken with "white" sauce. They have all the traditional topping options too, as well as the usual tomatoey pizza sauce. They have larger meal-sized salads, sandwiches (haven't tried them, but they looked tasty) and the NICEST bunch of ladies running the place (no offense to any possible male employees, I just haven't ever seen one there on my lunch break). Get there early (11am) for lunch because the few tables they do have fill up fast; however they also turn over quickly so don't fret if you have to stand while they make your order; chances are good that by the time it's ready (10 minutes tops) someone will be headed back to work and you can have a seat and enjoy your fresh, hot made-to-order perfectly-sized (and priced) pizza. Yum!
*I have to qualify my selection of "No" on "waiter service"; you order and pay at the counter when you come in, you get your own drink, find your seat and then they'll serve you your food as soon as it's ready. Classify that however you like. (I leave a tip.)
