These guys are wonderful! We had been at the gym and wanted Chinese food to take back home with us, and Yelped for the best Chinese take-out, came up with New China, followed the magic map, arrived at like 15 minutes to 10 pm (they close at 10), and they made us food that was tasty and not too salty or sweet, and the veggies were fresh, fresh, fresh (well, within reason. I think all water chestnuts everywhere are canned). Seriously, still crisp or at least al dente, and the Happy Family was glorious in its profusion of colors and textures! Gotta say, their hot and sour soup is spicier than I am used to, but that's probably a good thing too :-)
My son ordered pork chow mein, they made chicken by accident, and they remade it as soon as they realized the mistake, even as closing time was approaching. Very cool. Good senses of humor, too!
You could theoretically eat in here, there are actually some tables and chairs, but it's set up for take out and they do a GREAT job at fresh, fast Chinese-Am takeout. Thank you, Yelpers, for steering us true yet again!
Our pick for Chinese food in the area. Made the mistake of choosing Tim's Magic Wok on several occasions due to their nicer decor, but don't let New China's hole-in-the-wall look turn you off.
Its not often we can find American-style Chinese food that ISN'T too greasy or too salty. This is one of those cases.
My wife got the Hunan Chicken which was a good level of spicy (upon request) without being over loaded with salt. The next trip she went with the General Tso chicken, which was also a good selection.
Niether, however, compare to their sweet-and-sour chicken. Easily the best I've had in recent memory: crunchy outside, soft inside, good selection of meat, and NOT GREASY. A very rare thing to  with this childhood favorite of mine. The egg roll it was accompanied with also managed to sit on a napkin without bleeding grease through the table!
We went for both lunch and dinner, but have found dinner to be the prime time for getting the best preparation (the lunch staff was really only one person in the kitchen and one running the register. The rice was also less fresh that time around.)
Don't forget your utensils!
Overall a surprisingly good Chinese take out restaurant. Â By far one of the best Chinese take outs I've had in a looong time. Â Not San Francisco or Chicago good, but still very good especially considering it is in South Florida.
Can't say I have seen too many Chinese restaurants having their kitchen and workers in full view. Â It was amazingly clean and looked well organized. Â If you want to scare yourself sometime, try taking a peek at normal Chinese restaurant's kitchen....
Visited Fort Myers for 3 days - and ate there twice :-D
took off a star because they didn't pack utensils in the takeout...had to drive back for them :-p
Best chinese take out in the area!
For around $5 you can get a lunch special. Contains meat or lo-mein, fried rice and a egg roll. Can't beat it!
I ordered the General Tso's chicken. Excellent General Tso's. The special touch was that allthough I called the order in, the cook waited for me to walk in the door to fire up the wok and toss the chicken in the sauce FRESH! Awesome and chrispy!
As far as the Fried Rice I also enjoyed it. Liked the bean sprouts they put in it aswell. Tasted very fresh. Not sure what is with the other reviewers saying it wasn't good.
All in all this is now my favorite chinese take out and is definately worth the 20 minute drive to get fresh Chinese food for this cheap.
Try it.
I love this Chinese take out! The food taste fresh and made to order. The quality of the ingredients seems to be of a higher standard than most Chinese take out or restaurants. We always get the wonton soup, general tsao's chicken, fried rice, and lo mein. We have also tried the mooshu pork, which was very good. Generally, I find Chinese food to be too greasy, but not here. I crave this food all the time.
Review Source:Very impressed with the food here. For Chinese take out. It is fresh and made to order. It does not sit there all day and get reheated. I will definitely be going back.
