First, I am from Maryland and live in California now. Â Do you know how impossible it is to get a good crabcake in CA? Â
Food: A+
This place delivers lumpy no-filler crab cakes that are heaven.
Crab bisque is also very good.
Service: good
The decor: dated, but quaint
I'll be coming back here now that Park Circle is gone.
A group of 12 ate here tonite. Amazing good chow. I had a salmon dish, and filet tips app. Very good. Others had various steaks, which I sampled and were wonderful. One most amazing dish was blackened crab cakes. WOW good. Perfect service and nice facility. We had a private dining room which helped our needs. Thanks folks. Very well done. We shall return.
Review Source:I've lived in the area for several years, and have consistently heard from locals that this restaurant is the place to be for fine dining.
Perhaps that was the case many years ago, but to me, it's just an overblown, dated, not more than OK restaurant with lousy service, and OK food. Â The wall hangings were poorly spaced and crooked, the furniture comfortable, but poorly upholstered, and the food was no better than what you'd find on one of the trendy chain restaurants. Â The prices, however, are rediculous for the experience. Â
I'll give it a pass next time.
Very nice but just "nice". Â It's always touted to be THE SPECIAL OCCASION place but I feel it is a little over priced and a little run down.
Our company Christmas dinner was held here and I enjoyed the bar area for a cocktail and then a private room for dinner. Â The meal was enjoyable and the Crab cake delicious but it was very expensive even for a Crab cake. Â Service was nice until it slowed down to a crawl between the entree' and dessert. Â None the less it was an "OK" evening. Â
The dining area was busy so perhaps I'll update on a later date. Â On a final note the bar did have a nice pianist playing softly so maybe its a cocktail place before you go somewhere else for dinner?
