Nightown

I had low standards for Nightown.

I've clubbed in NYC, LA, Vegas, Tokyo and London- been to the biggest clubs and parties and I was a big club rat. So coming to a small town, I expected very little. The outside of the club could get a facelift, and the 15$ for women 21+ and 20$ for locals made me hesitate even more (most good clubs have a 30$+ cover) and the first place you enter is weird. There's pool tables, video games, a bar and a constantly empty dance floor with a lonely DJ. I was worried it was going to be a bomb, until we went into the main dance floor.

It looked like a standard good club. The set up, lights and everything looked really good.

The good: Free drinks. I'm not kidding. Your pay to get in pays for your drinks. BUT they can only put an ounce in each drink. So you just need to drink 5 or 6 and you'll be blasted

The bad:
There's too many dudes. The dude to chick ratio is 4:1 and the guys try SO hard to get into the cluster of girls that are there, it's redic.
God, this is going to make me sound so mean, but... they let anyone in. Anyone. Creepy guys, girls that are the size of small planets. I mean, I know it's the south, but you could at least keep undesirables out.
Dance floor is too small :/

There were cops chilling outside the club. Uh. Hey officers.
It's a 18+ club, so there are kids running around. It's not that big of a deal, but sometimes it gets annoying.

NO ONE can dance. I guess that's a good/bad, because if you can dance above average, you'll look like  a super star.

I had a good time and I would recommend this place. Not if you're a dude or if you're looking for hot chicks though.

NOTE: DON'T SHOW UP AT THIS PLACE BEFORE 12:30. They tote themselves as a late night club, and if you show up at 11:20, no one is there. But things hit their peak between 12:30 and 2 am

It bugs the shit out of me that they spell the name of this place with one "T" especially since the sign over the door says "nt", implying that it's actually two words...nevermind.  On to the review!

Fightown-er, Nightown is the prototypical Miami-esque nighclub here in Destin.  It's a little hard to find the firstime, but it's still close enough to the main highway not to be too far off the beaten path.

I'm not a big fan of Nightown.  They have a habit of having you wait in line, and when you get inside it won't even be at half capacity.  Talk about creating a stir when no one can see.  They do a lot of different types of themed parties and concerts, and usually promote the "$20 all you can drink" deal, which for a bar or nighclub usually screams "Swirling the drain."  Perhaps it just isn't my scene, and that's not Nightown's fault, but I stopped coming here because of bad security and bad bar business.  Not too much has changed since then, as far as I can tell.

It's like any other typical dance club... bars, dj and a dance floor. Nothing impressive, but not too bad either.
