I just had lunch here today. Â Service was prompt, friendly, and accommodating. Â Hush puppies were fresh and fried to perfection. Â Salad bar ingredients were clearly freshly cut. Â Finally, I had the owner prepare whatever he wanted. Â I had a stir-fried shrimp dish with peppers, onions, and a spicy creole/cajun sauce. Â Rather tasty and just spicy enough. Â
I hadn't been here in years and now have no excuse not to go back. Â Large portions, exceedingly inexpensive prices.
No-just don't. Â We were passing through and seafood sounded good. Â It was a choice of broiled or fried of the usual generic white fish, oysters, shrimp, and stuffed crab (premade from Sam's Club). Â The waitress said the fried was best but the batter was too salty for both of us. Â My husband wants me to add a warning - no beer - no alcohol at all. Maybe it's a dry county. Â Judging from the other reviews, Â stick with Applebys or Cracker Barrel.
Review Source:We stopped here while traveling. It's a family seafood restaurant. The waitress arrives with menus and a bowl of fresh, hot hush puppies. The menu has options for grilled, fried, or broiled seafood, combination plates, smaller and larger portions of each type of fish, and a kid's menu. For the non-seafood eater, there are also pasta and steak options. The wait staff are friendly. The mom and pop of this mom-and-pop establishment are out in the dining room making sure everyone's happy. The food was good. Restrooms were pretty clean. The smoke from the smoking section wafted over into the non-smoking area. Otherwise, it was a good experience. We will go back when we travel that way again.
