Was there during a game night, both the A's and the Giants, and no one was there. Had a burger with a friend and was able to sit and talk with very little interuptions due to lack of customers. Beer selection was pour, guinness on tap but not cold, no Jack (what bar does not have JD). Food was below average to average, over-priced.
Bartender did not know all drinks, but gave away a lot of shots that were pre-made.
The tables look like something out of a garage, complete with black tape holding the angle iron legs together.
Made a second trip to meet someone on that side of town, and after they were out of JD again, we left. Will not make a trip back again.

I have been at this "place" 4 times because its close to my apartment, all the time my coors light is warm! Last night was the worst,"bartender" ignoring me and just paying attention at regular customers. Why i need to wait 15 minutes after i finished one beer to be asked if i want another one? Bartender was just partying as she told me right on my face, what a place! NO,THANKS!

I have been here 3 times since it opened. The first time I was informed by the bartender that they were new and would soon have beer taps. Long story short, that was 4 months ago and beer in bottles is still the only option other than a Guinness. To make things worse, the beers weren't even cold. I wish I had 3 hands, so I could give this place 3 thumbs down.

Missing something. SUPER pricey. Margaritas are made with seltzer water -- not for me!! Lemon drops with 7Up -- again, not for me. VERY understaffed. Limited selection of bottled beers. Only Guinness on tap.

Okay ... been back again. It's the only place in Bennett Valley to have a beverage after 9p. Was there on an ordinary Sat night ~10 & it was DEAD. Barleycorn's was NEVER slow on a Sat night. They actually brought in a decent bartender -- really a great bartender.
We usually end up at Johnny Garlics for beverages now -- awesome bartender.

Go here for the burgers. They are fabulous. Juicy and delicious. Get a side of potato salad. Yum! I have been here several times with friends. It is a great casual/classy place. I was a little surprised to see such sophistication in a strip mall! My dining companions or I have had a prime rib special, the bacon wrapped tater tots, the cheese steak, beef tips, and the burgers. Everyone has always been pleased with their meal but the burgers and potato salad are to die for. Plus, they are smart enough to use bread products from my favorite place in Healdsburg, Costeaux's Bakery. That is enough to make me want to go back.

We came here on the memorial day weekend. The waitress Carly was super friendly and very welcoming. She had made a special drink of the day (watermelon martini) and it was fantastic! Due to the holiday the kitchen was closed, but Carly shared her dinner from the Chinese place next door with us! We felt like Norm from cheers and it was our first time!

O'Connor's is an interesting place. It wasn't what I expected when I walked in, I suppose partially due to my wife telling me about the bite club write up on it. It is a bar, with several tables on the opposite side and a neat looking couch area up front. Sort of seemed like a confused Starbucks with Guinness on tap. But that isn't all bad, I mean hey, the number of places serving Guinness on tap is pretty limited. It was a bit torturous since I was on medication at the time and couldn't drink.

I had the cheesesteak and fries. . It was pretty good. The iced tea was terrible

My wife's meal was a totally different story. Her chicken was pink towards the bone and her asparagus was cooked in some wine sauce that wasn't appealing at all. The waitress was fantastic about taking it back and getting her a different order pronto. She explained that the cook likes to experiment sometimes. I applaud that, but don't use your patrons as guinea pigs without warning them! Experiment with your friends and staff first.

I would definitely be interested in their Irish Sunday dinners and some of that Guinness on tap, but I think the wife is pretty much over this place. I'll update if I make it back.

I was so excited about this place from the mention in BiteClub. Irish = Yum!

But then I went there... I think this place has multiple personality disorder. The interior looks like a bar/club that you'd expect to see downtown and the wait staff/bartenders are all wearing casual sports jerseys and tennis shoes. It doesn't really match.

The dining tables look like they were thrown into the spot at the last minute and hand made with a thick clearcoat on the table top - already scratched (someone didn't think this through).

When the hubs and I went for date night, we walked into confusion. The waitress turned out to be really sweet and accommodating, but the experience wasn't great.

Although hubby was satisfied with his dinner, my chicken was undercooked and the asparagus with the dish was cooked in some sort of white wine - blech. I sent the whole dish back and ended up with a turkey and cranberry sandwich. Not quite the date night dinner out I was looking for.

I do have to give them props for having Guinness on tap!

I'll give this place a while to "find itself" and try again. Hopefully, they will work the kinks out by next time!

Looks great! The newly redesigned Johnny Barleycorns has a much brighter and inviting environment than it's predecessor. I am so glad that they completely revamped the room to be a family-friendly, fun spot. The food is really good and the service is awesome. Mr O'Conner is extremely friendly and personable. I am going to be bringing my family again and again for a quality meal and a good time.

    Pros: Close to my house.

Cons: $5 for 12 oz beers and a weak, weak selection. Burgers buns get extremely soggy and become inedible after about 3 minutes on the table. Owner clearly trying to draw people in by placing young waitresses in sports jerseys serving, without any consideration of whether they are qualified or not.

If you're going for beer near Yulupa, go across the street to Los Tres Chiles, they serve 24oz beers for $4.50 and have a much better, on tap beer selection and $5 all you can drink Mimosas on the weekends. I was excited to see the old John Barleycorn resurrected, but to put it bluntly, I've only been once and don't see any return trips on my drinking calendar.
