This review is for the small restaurant in the day lodge at the Badger Pass Ski area. Â There is an outside window that I did not see anyone using and a large indoor seating area in the same portion of the lodge where you stand in line to place an order. Â The menu for this restaurant is standard ski area fare, predominantly hamburgers and hot chocolate with some poorly made pizza and cheap nachos too.
With the exception of their brewed coffee (which was fair to good, surprisingly) nothing that I tasted at this place was good. Â While I was not expecting much, it would have been nice to find something (other than the coffee) that was good.
The pizza here was terrible, I suspect it was frozen and reheated then kept warm under some lights. Â The hot cocoa was dispensed from the same machine that I have seen in college dorms and served with whipped topping from a can.
French Fry review:
This place used the exact same frozen fries that were used at the other Yosemite locations we tried. Â They were bland and mushy in the middle and too thick. Â They had no skin but were cooked enough that they were crispy at the tips. Â These fries may have been better here than at the other locations where we got served the same fries because there were large self serve barbecue sauce containers that we could help ourselves to for dipping.
Overall, very standard but not very good ski lodge food. Â There is a different restaurant on the second floor of the lodge that we did not have a chance to try.
