I'm giving them a 1 for one reason. The teenage rude hostesses that were working tonight. Came there with a party of 6. They told us 45 minutes and followed up with you can wait if you want. WOW. Well, 1 hour later we went back up there and they said just a little while longer. So we stood near by and was appalled watching them seat similar size parties that were not waiting as long as us. When we went up and expressed out displeasure, the little teenagers gave us attitude and mouthed off saying "WELL, It takes LONGER to seat larger parties". Nothing but attitude from them! I've been here many times and have NEVER had such a horrible experience. We were all so freakin mad we wanted to leave but another hostess/manager lady was listening to us and seated us right away. The waiter Steve turned it around and made our dinner enjoyable. Those little girls belong working at a lower cliental establishment. There was another lady customer that was upset with them at the same time and she gave her attitude also. What a shame!
Review Source:WOW, I am shocked. Actually I'm not, it should be apparent to people that there are far more uneducated, angry, stupid people in the world than there are the other. So I speak for the others. I go to Key Lime once a week. I absolutely adore this place, it is old florida at its finest. They have great food, great service, friendly staff, and there is always and owner present, and there is a lot to be said for that. Let's review some facts for the educated intelligent people. The Key Lime has been there for 30yrs, obviously they are a good restaurant, because there is too much competition for a bad restaurant to be in business for 30yrs. They have achieved numerous CREDITED reviews and awards from the likes of Bon Apetit magazine(probably the most respected and accredited epicurean food magazine on the planet) The Sun-Sentinel, The Palm Beach Post, EVEN THE WALL STREET JOURNAL has written articles praising this establishment, and if you don't believe me, go there and you can see them for yourself all over there walls as you walk in. THIS PLACE IS AWESOME, they even offer free sunset cruises on Sundays on there gigantic tiki boat(one of a kind) all you have to do is have lunch before hand!!! WHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD DO YOU GET A FREE CRUISE JUST FOR HAVING LUNCH!!! They clearly go above and beyond for their customers, providing services no other restaurant I have ever heard of does.
This obviously sounds like some angry, unhappy people that have nothing better to do with there time than to trash places that either probably didn't give them a free drink or app b/c they complained or didn't play along with there ridiculousness.
Like when you go see a movie that you absolutely loved, but then some bonehead says it was terrible. (Probably one of those Honey boo boo fans or relatives)
I have seen them kick out scumbags, and other degenerates that were bothering other people and I thoroughly support that. I wish other places had the back bone to take out the TRASH... Kinda like Jack Welch every year he got rid of the bottom 5%. making room for the better class of people who want to have a good time and enjoy themselves..
Sorry for coming off so one sided it's just funny to me how all these people are so fast to criticize when they have no idea what they are talking about, after all Veronica, Cain and TP I'm sorry I forgot what was the name of your TV show on the food channel, or the name of the column you write for food & wine magazine???
Me I worked at the LEFT BANK if Ft. Lauderdale for 10yrs under chef Jean-Pierre. We were ranked top 100 restaurants in the UNITED STATES for 25yrs in a row!!!! So I have slightly higher credibility than the rest. Feel free to google it.

UPDATE: Now they are under new management but I don't think that will make a difference since he is just as rude as the last one, he feels my last review was obviously shallow and verbose!!! Â Who cares, this happened to me and that was how I felt, if you don't like it, too bad, not like you can expell me again...LOL!!!! What, are we in highschool??? Listen: Sending notes saying things like that isn't going to change my perspective on this place, it was still the worst restaurant experience ever, and looking back, I still feel that way!!! Review Source:I like this place, don't love it, but like it. The setting has one of the best waterfront dining views in the area. Lots of outside seating makes it perfect for enjoying the FL weather. It's got two parts ... a restaurant with $15 to $25 dining options, and a bar area.
The bar area has great happy hour specials. They could use more craft beers, but overall, the beer selection isn't bad. It's a popular gathering spot for locals and tourists alike. Can be very busy at times. They have a limited menu on the bar side. The crunchy chicken sandwich is sinfully good - light batter deep fried breast covered in cheese and bacon.
The restaurant side is a little more upscale (not all the bikers you'll find at the bar), but it's still casual dining. The food is ok for the $, but it could be better. I have the same complaint many others here ... the service is lacking. In fact, I've been here several times and it's always been the worst part of the meal. Long waits for orders, drinks sit empty, and last time in between apps and dinner, we informed our waiter and stepped to the bar side to have a smoke and when we came back, the rest of our app had been cleared and other people had been sat at our table.
Pros - Great setting, decent food
Cons - Poor service, often overcrowded, loud music
