Ground and Pound Restaurant

So we decided to take on a staycation in Palm Beach and we encountered this place. The concept, Food, awesome looking waitresses in skimpy outfits, and MMA on a gazillion plasmas.

The place is fairly new, the menu had all the right things. As many of you know I am a Chicken Wing aficionado and off course I ordered them They serve more than any other place 12 or 24, which is an added value for like 9 bucks. I had it with Cole slaw since I am on a low carb diet. My babes ordered the Fish and chips. The wings were friggin awesome, they cooked them like I ordered Crispy" Sauce on the side. They were seasoned very good. My wife really liked the fish. She did not comment on the chip, since she is really not crazy about fries. They offered to substitute but she said it was ok.

The service was good. The place was not packed, we arrived at around 9pm. The food came out pretty fast and no issues. I read a previous comment a few minutes before writing this review and we did not have a problem with slow service. Maybe they got their act together.

The place is filled with plasmas and from what I read, they show all the Pay Per View fights monthly. This concept is amazing. Finally a place that caters to this sport and I hope they come to Miami soon.

Went to Ground and Pound restaurant to watch a UFC fight on a Saturday night.  I thought the concept of the restaurant was cool and interesting with the UFC theme which is why we went there.  
The place is very small.  It seems it is run by mostly reservations.

Service: Very slow!! Super slow! So if you are in a rush or just want to eat and go, i wouldn't recommend this place!  Service seems very disorganized and even though we were not in a rush since we were watching the fights, our waitress would disappear a lot and since the place is small, you can easily spot your waitress and with her it was like where's Waldo! No where to be found at times.

Food was ok.. 20% gratuities are included on all checks! No matter the size of the party.  Not a lot of choices on menu on Saturdays.  

Be careful with your check and make sure you look twice.  I was not only charged my bill (which was the right amount) but when the waitress came back with the receipt for me to sign, she came back with a different, higher bill which was not mine! She did apologize for the mistake but a few days after checking my bank account, she charged me for my correct bill and the wrong one which was triple the amount of my bill!! Not sure why she would still charge me for the incorrect bill when I never signed the receipt!

Tried to give this place another try with the Groupon I had purchased for Saturday night since they do not honor Groupons Saturday nights.  The Groupon did not state this one rule otherwise I would have not purchased it but since I had it I figured to give this place another try and went to watch game 6 of the Heat and Spurs game.  Ordered our food on the 1st quarter and didn't get it until almost the end of the 3rd quarter!!!!  Burger was extra salty, service was bad, food order was wrong.  I had kids with me and they were starving, which didn't help.  They ended up taking 2 items off the menu, gee thanks!

Bottom line, staying away!! Will never go back. Concept of the place is cool but service is HORRIBLE and for these bogus positive reviews being left on here, nice try! I also noticed that the positive review is from a yelp user that posted only 1 review which is for Ground and Pound!!! Smells fishy!

My friend and I showed up for the grand opening 20 minutes too early and the owner told us to come back at 8. He was also very unfriendly. When we returned at 8:05, the manager was telling a group of men that they wouldn't be seated, but could sit at the bar. Which is tiny. I spoke to the owner and reminded him that we had been here before and were excited for the grand opening. My friend drove from pga just for this. He told us all the tables are reserved. So, the owner would rather reserve empty tables for his friends than potential local customers. Bravo. Brilliant move sir. My friend and I will never be back, and I urge others to stay away as well. An owner who turns away business at his grand opening is a pretty poor sign. Hopefully, a more friendly restaurant will take its place once they inevitably close.  Also, I find it peculiar all the reviews for this restaurant by people who have reviewed only this restaurant on Yelp...

 See for yourself.  Take a drive by, the parking lot is almost always empty.  The building, with it's blacked out windows and neon lights looks like a trashy dive bar.  I want to stress this and I cannot make this clear enough, I have never been denied service at a restaurant.  Ever.  Except at this place.  I have never seen a more rude and unapologetic owner.  I never reviewed on Yelp, until 5 minutes after visiting this place.  I think this guy named his place "Ground and Pound" because he likes to beat up the customers!  Ha, I'm here all week!
