Wow! Seven of us for dinner and all of us walked out thinking the same thing - the best meal we had at the lake. We felt at home in our (very) casual clothes (it's vacation after all!). The waiter was prompt and the service overall was very good. Gorgeous view of the lake. We had the spinach salad (shared it) and salmon, prime rib, ribs and filet. Everyone thought their dinner was prepared perfectly with generous portions. If you have room try the cheesecake. The seven of us shared two pieces and had more than enough. Not inexpensive but we felt as though it was worth every penny. Great wine selection too.
Review Source:I had dinner tonight with my son and his friend. It was "Old Tahoe". Owner greeted us and we sat at the Bar and watched the Baseball game. The service was great. Warm homemade bread, followed by a Hearts of Palm Salad and then the Cowboy Cut of Prime Rib, 5 Star experience and highly recommended and overlooked in the Tahoe area. This is a winner here.
Review Source:We stopped in here on one of our days up here at Lake Tahoe. I've driven by quite a few times but never stopped to eat. A friend that lives in Truckee gave only so so reviews of the place, but what the heck, we'll give it a try. Going in it reminded me more of old school steakhouse than a new age one with all kinds of sauces and organic this and that. There are early bird specials on the menu, for some reason that just reminds me of the senior discount .... not that I have anything against that! I may be there someday! BUt even looking over these early bird offers, them prices ain't cheap. Ranging from chicken pasta for $18 to prime rib for $24. Rib offerings range from $28 for a full slab (rack) to $22 for a half. Being Steakhouse is in the name, steaks are what are really featured here. The salads here are ordered separate, but feed 2.
I had the NY steak for $32 and my BF had the rib eye for $34 along with a shared Caesar  salad for $12. Service was good, drinks were served promptly. Just 1 glass of wine each this time around. The salad was big enough, but really just plain , tasted like bottles dressing. My NY arrived, not huge like a 1lb Costco size, but decent. My first taste I'm thinking, not bad but I think Costco is better. Just a avg. NY. The rib eye was about on the same level. Out the door I couldn't say our dinner was worth $120, with tip and tax and 2 glasses of wine. Tahoe prices, what can I say. I don't mind those prices if the food warrants it. I'll pass on returning.
