CASH ONLY BAR (atms there charge alot to use.)
I just moved to Laughlin and so far this bar is my favorite by far.
When you first walk in its dark and usually pretty empty.
There are three pool tables to choose from they are a dollar a game. You get the cue ball from the bartender and leave them your license.
The bartenders so far that I have encountered are friendly.
I usually go into this bar with friends so I do not care that its empty I am not there to meet people.
I know they have live music at times I havent had a chance to witness it I will update this review when i do.
The downside is jack daniels is on a gun... no free pour.
Great find in Laughlin! My hubby and I were staying at the Harrah's Casino and the Old Town Saloon out front caught our eye. At first glance we were intrigued. The appearance looks like an old western saloon, wood exterior and all. The inside is spacious, full of pool tables, darts and a large bar. The bartender was also the bar DJ playing music that made me want to dance. It was a mix of hip-hop, dance, and rock music. This place had a good vibe, I wish I had one back at home! The best part about the place was the cheap drinks! No where else in Laughlin could we find $5 pitchers of any beer you wanted. Come on... $5! We ordered two pitchers of coors banquet beer. Delicious. We will definitely be back next time we are in town.
Review Source:Date of visit: January 11, 2008, Saturday, around 10 pm. On the sidewalk outside, I passed an employee of the nearby Harrah's hotel-casino. He said it's not unusual for fights to break out at the Old Town Saloon.
The first thing you notice is the ear-splitting music by various rap artists. A few of the dozen or so patrons glanced up blankly as I walked in. There is no decor. The dreary space is lighted by dim florescent tubes concealed in various places, giving everyone a deathly pallor. It's a small bar in a building that stands alone on a hill overlooking Harrah's.
Young women played pool while young men sat at the bar ignoring them. I didn't get a good look at the women, but they seemed reasonably attractive.
Rather than having a good time, patrons seemed to be spending an evening at the Old Town Saloon for lack of anything better to do on a Saturday night in Laughlin, NV. There were no signs of revelry and merriment. Maybe it's the only place in town that offers rap music loud enough to make your head explode.
The skinny, balding bartender was having a good time. He saw himself as a character from the movie "Cocktail." He juggled glasses and so on, even shattering one. Some of the patrons harassed him about that and he cheerfully cursed them out. He raced about as if serving 100 customers. When he came to take my order, he acted very impatient because I hadn't finished my evaluation of the beer selection (I went with Samuel Adams). He raced away to attend to a more urgent chore, then scampered back to see if I had at last made up my mind. Maybe he needs a Red Bull intervention.
The saloon employs a DJ. When he wasn't dashing back and forth making a great show of bartending, the barman busied himself yelling frantic commands at the DJ and giving him various hand signals. At one point, a song by Bloodhound Gang came on, but the bartender yelled at the DJ to cut it.
I gave the Old Town Saloon two stars because it has entertainment value if you like to sample local color.
During the day, the parking lot is empty so it looks closed. No, the Old Town Saloon is open 24 hours. Don't turn in by mistake on your way to Harrah's. The entrance to Harrah's is just a few yards farther up the road.
