Really enjoyed this place in Frisco. Â They had great daily specials and the bar food was on the upper-echelon of bar food quality.
Came here Saturday for some day drinking and the $3 mimosas were dangerous and addictive. Â
Bartender was really nice and gave us great advice on stuff to do. Â Random strangers also felt comfortable enough to give us advice on the best bars to frequent if you plan to be a hot mess. Â What more could you want?
Great, low key casual bar with better than average traditional bar food. Â I had the blackened tilapia burrito - and it was quite tasty.
Great mix of Colorado Beers on tap (Avery White Rascal!!!! is awesome), decent happy hour offerings...and tons of TVs and they can pipe in about any game you want. Â We spent several hours watching a hockey game and felt right at home the whole time.
Friendly, efficient service too.
In an area where there are many restaurants willing to gouge the vacationing ski crowd, Ollies is a breath of fresh air with reasonable priced, high quality food and drink.
Fun happy hour spot not far from Copper/Breck.
We were there at an odd time (2:45pm) and it was pretty dead. Â Nonetheless, the bartender was friendly and told us to sit wherever we'd like. Â She quickly brought beers/water and the food came out quickly as well.
*GF loved the BLT; my cajun avocado chicken wrap was equally good. Â
*Not too much energy in the place but I imagine as it gets later, it picks up.
Fun lunch spot!
deafeningly loud music. i dont really enjoy bars where you have to yell over the music to be heard by the person sitting right next to you. but if you get drunk here im sure its much more tolerable. ... and getting drunk here is easy. drinks are super cheap. and the crowd is usually pretty decent
Review Source:Unlike the preponderance of reviewers here, I'm afraid I did not enjoy my time at Ollie's, and will not be returning. Perhaps my experience was uncommon; I'd hate to think all these glowing reviews were written by intoxicated people, although after my experience there, this would explain a few things.
If I could sum up our Ollie's experience in one word, it would be: meh. Ollie's is a bar, wherein they serve food (which is neither unique nor particularly palatable). Picture Bar Food without all the things we love about Bar Food, such as huge flavorful portions of fresh, glistening, greasy awesomeness. The building is heated, and they have TVs which display sporting events. That's the Good.
We came in on a weekday in ski season, but found them mostly empty and quiet. The first thing I noticed upon entering was the malodorous essence of the bathrooms-- a delicate blend of fetid urine and paradichlorobenzene cakes. Due to having a pregnant spouse in tow who needed immediate refueling, I fought the instinct to flee and we settled into a booth. I'm sad to say that the service we received was lackluster, since good service can often make a mediocre meal enjoyable; but it was not to be. To be fair, our interactions were limited to one employee (our server), but we did seem to catch her on a bad day in which she had zero fucks to give.
On to the highlights: all members of my party received cold, lifeless, and unseasoned fries (brought-in frozen). The au jus served with the "Colorado" dips was extremely salty, to the point of bring cast aside after the first taste and left unused; I suspect we got our portions from the bottom of the barrel.
Other reviews of this establishment speak well of the burgers here. My burger must have been the lonely exception; it was completely quotidian-- a sad and lifeless proletarian nightmare of utter mediocrity. The beef was neither fresh nor moist, the presentation was careless, and the general impression was that the chef must have been in the weeds, despite the fact we came in for lunch on a slow day and place was at about 5% of its capacity.
We all felt gut-bombed, disappointed, and sorrowful after leaving Ollie's. It made me wish I could travel back in time and take my crew to my home bar, Bob's in Avon, and do it all again without the calamity of lunch at Ollie's.
Had they not had Avery White Rascal on tap, I would not been able to survive the above experience. If you require a burger in Summit County, I strongly suggest Empire Burger over Ollie's.
*EDIT* Not long after posting this review, I was contacted by the owner. He apologized and expressed a desire to demonstrate that my experience is atypical of an Ollie's visit. This indicates that the ownership in concerned about the guest experience and is certainly a point in their favor.
Casual spot, friendly-down-to-earth service and excellent comfort food. Â This review may be biased because we were skiing before we came here - so everything always tastes better after strenuous activity!
We enjoyed the diversity of beer taps, the selection of liquor, and a larger than expected menu. Â Being that we'd been skiing - burgers were on the agenda. Â I had a spicy red pepper burger with a chipotle mayo type sauce. Â The burger was cooked perfectly - juicy, flavorful, and not too much bun! Â If you get it, beware of the mess so make sure you have extra napkins.
There is a small bar area as well as a decent sized dining area that can be configured for large groups of people. Â There are a couple of TVs as well if you're trying to keep an eye on a game. Â Prices are a little high, but you're in the mountains and I thought it was well priced for the quality of the food.
The next time we're skiing in the area, we will definitely be back.
Had such a good time here- that I am writing my first ever Yelp review...wohoo!
After an awesome day of boarding in Breck, we headed back towards our condo in Frisco. Thirsty and hungry..we yelped a good place for burgers and brews and ended up at the right place! Â The service was great and the food was even better. Fried pickles..yum! We all had different burgers and were all pleased.
The best part about this place (and a total surprise for us)..it's a Chicago themed sports bar! Â This felt right at home for my bf and I who were boarding with some friends from Denver. Turns out the owner of the bar and I went to the same HS...talk about small world! Had such a good time that we came back for the Bulls game later that evening and watched the game with some local fans. Good Times!
Also- they have about 9 TV's with every sports channel you can imagine. If you are looking for a specific game- you can bet they will turn it on for you!
What can I say, Ollies is a must stop after a long day of skiing or for a great Saturday night! The food is great and the drink specials are unparallelled. Ollies is usually packed on the weekends both in season and out of season....which speaks volumes for this place! They have 2 locations: Breck & Frisco. The owners are great guys and their success is warranted! Highly Recommend Ollies both in Breck & Frisco
Review Source:I'm updating my review. I was overly harsh on Ollies, giving the restaurant 2 stars because I said the burgers aren't all that great. I was wrong about the burgers (try the Dillon Valley Burger), but I also gave short shrift in my review by not mentioning the mac and cheese (it's one of the best in the state) or the chicken wings. It's all good. I must have been in a bad mood when I wrote my original review, and subsequent trips have disproved my original rating.
One thing I wouldn't change is my opinion regarding service and drink specials. The service is always friendly and attentive, and you can usually find a drink special you like. On a side note, the owner is very concerned that customers are satisfied and will personally respond to issues. You can't beat that.
Ollie's has great happy hour food and drink specials. I always meet cool peeps sitting at the bar and the bartenders are on their game. My only gripe is that the salty balls (fried mozzarella balls) have been off lately. Even when I let them cool 10 minutes the cheese all pops out of the ball when you take a bite. We almost had a fatality when the cheese flew across the table and nearly hit my friend in the eye. Hahaha
Review Source:This was definitely a fun place to come in eat on our first day in town. It's got a bar & then a more seated restaurant area to the side. There's a third room that has air hockey, pool & Foosball.
We started off with the breaded mushrooms & potato skins. Um, YUM. Especially with the mushrooms. I could've eaten the whole thing myself.
The menu selection is pretty big - plenty of burgers, sandwiches & larger entrees like chimichongas. I wouldn't be able to tell you what burger I ordered except it was spicy, had guacamole and was AMAZING. Everyone else got burgers as well and were quite satisifed. The only person to be let down was my brother who thought it'd be funny to order the mini chimichonagas. Apparently...it was not.
They have a lot of tasty Colorado beers on tap too, in addition to your normal cheaper beers (blech).
Service was fast & friendly as well!
We stopped by here based on yelp reviews. Â We were in the area and had had great luck at pubs/taverns for dinner so thought we'd give Ollies a try. I'm glad we did!
We were seated right away and arrived a few minutes before their happy hour was over.
We were seated right away. Â The waitress was really nice. I ordered the broccoli and cheddar wrap with rice. It was huge! I was only able to eat one. The prices were fairly decent as well.
I'd definitely recommend this place for a bite to eat after hitting the slopes Maybe next time we'll make it for Happy Hour.
We really had a great time at this location. Â Rachelle was our server during lunch and was an excellent host. Â She took the time to take every details of our order and ensure that everything on the order was made as per the request. Â We had a very good experience and will visit their restaurant/bar again! Also the food was great and the portions were very large. We came with a group of 8 from Texas - including 3 teenagers and a small kid. They have a game room in the back with a pool table, foosball, air hockey, video games, soccer table -- what more could kids want. To top it off, there was 2 separate family booths where you can hang out and chat, eat in a private setting. Definitely make the trip to come here. You'll enjoy it thoroughly.
Review Source:Stopped in here for a bite while in Frisco recently. Â I really want to go back and try more items. Â The bartender was super friendly. Â They had Colorado micorbrews on tap and the place looked like it could be a lot of fun to sit outside and play bag toss.
I really enjoy a good Reuben and they made it for me the way I like it. Â Lots of meat and not too greasy.
We had some happy apps that were at a great price.
What an awesome little place on Main Street in Frisco. I was hesitant to take my mom here last week after reading some of the reviews about it being downstairs and maybe kinda dark and divey. But at 3pm on a Friday, it was quiet and we were the only patrons. Perfect for a late lunch and we even managed to time our pitstop with their daily happy hour! Great list of all-Colorado microbrews. Their apps are half off during HH and I'd recommend the huge basket of fried pickle slices. My mom had their fish and chips that had a tasty herbed breading. I had a ginormous buffalo chicken sandwich with blue cheese and my husband had a reuben. All came with big piles of perfect salty curly fries. Sitting at the huge wood slab table in the middle of the bar, we feasted on fried food while watching sports and listing to decent music. I'd go with 3.5 stars because I'll definitely be back and I think this place is a step above your standard pub. Our waiter/bartender was really friendly and didn't give us a hard time about using a http://restaurant.com coupon (can't combine this with HH deals FYI)...and he even took a pic of us in front of their blow-up snowman. Perfect place to stop for a snack or meal on your way to and from the mountains.
Review Source:Ollies has become a weekly ritual for us. Â When a burger and a beer at the Moosejaw isn't quite what I'm looking for, Ollies fills a great niche. Â And, conveniently enough, they are open pretty late. Â The waitstaff and bartenders are friendly and helpful, the menu is varied enough that almost anyone should be able to find something. Â The drink and happy hour specials are great. Â Be warned, though... the pineapple mojito, while tasty, can be lethal!
Review Source:Man, we stopped by here on a road trip a few weeks ago not expecting much. Â It's a small ski-town south of breckenridge, you know, and this is the off season, right? Â Again, not expecting much. Â WE HAD A BLAST!! These people know how to throw a party, even if it is just three random strangers on a Wednesday night. Â We were only in town for 2 nights but if I'm ever back this way I'll be back. Â Food was pretty good, drinks were reasonable, shots flowed a plenty and we even met the owner Doug! Â Well, not sure if that's his real name or not but he kind of looked like a "Doug" so we called him that and he humored us well enough. Â Man I wish I lived in Colorado, so beautiful. Â Oh well,
Review Source:I thought this place was mediocre. We went at lunchtime, and they were blasting death metal loud enough that it was difficult for us to talk. Our burgers were nothing special, but they were cheap.
If you're planning on getting drunk enough that you don't care what your food tastes like, you're golden.
Mediocre food, good drink specials.
I went here with some friends recently and we thought the place was merely OK. The fried pickles were great, but nothing else was especially good. The chicken fajitas my friend had were meh; my fish & chips were respectable. I will say they have some good drink specials and good beers on tap.
I guess if I went back I would stick to drinking.
Let's just say the group I was with are rockstar drinkers...and Ollies couldn't be a more appropriate place for rockstars. Down below street level, smells of old beer, smoke and who knows what else...this place is the perfect spot to begin the apres skiing afternoon of drinking.
Happy Hour here is not to be missed. With all micro brew beer (and all Colorado brewed at that) on tap for something like $3 and apps $5 each it's easy to have the afternoon turn into an evening. Food is your standard pub food-but hey with fried pickles and ranch dressing things can get interesting. If you're are into hot wings-opt for the ultra hot chicken fingers instead-I think my drinking buddy can attest to their...um...attributes. You may want to order a side of milk to ease the pain just in case.
The waitstaff is friendly and funny-we thoroughly impressed our waitress with our drinking abilities and that was just the beginning of the evening!
I hear they have shotskis and as a newbie to the shotski scene...I may have to let Ollies be my first.
This is a great bar!! They have a special every day f the week on beer and liquor. The bar staff is very nice!! If you want to have a conversation with your friends and have a drink I do not recommend going when there is a band.... It is LOUD! You can barely hear yourself think!!! But they do have a game room that you can enjoy a game of pool! I like coming here when I am in Frisco!!
Review Source:Ollie's is great and there re a couple of different reasons for that:
1. They have great Panasonic TV's (awesome for sports)
2. They played the sound for the Super Bowl
3. They had ALL YOU CAN EAT wings for the Super Bowl with a great wing sauce. Â And being from Upstate NY...I have had good wings. Â It may have just been Frank's with extra butter...but it was great.
4. They had beer specials for the Super Bowl.
5. When I called to ask if they would have the sound on for the game, the guy on the other end of the line was so friendly and enthusiastic about the game and the specials, it was contagious.
The nachos were not so good. Â In fact, they were actually bad. Â Not layered and they were piled high. Â So that results in the top looking good but anything an inch below the surface are just overly baked chips. Â Not good at all. Â But, they had a great beer selection and great specials. Â Place had a really good crowd and was well put together. Â Good spot.
