I'm a fan! Came here for my 21st birthday since its local and not far from my house, I had a good time all in all. The food is good I would definitely recommend the potato soup, even-though the last time it wasn't soup consistency, but a glob of paste. Besides that I like Omare's, I have been there for the all you can eat snow crabs and it was appetizing, but I would absolutely pay more money for them to be bigger. If your looking for a good spot to come to during St. Patties Day this would be a perfect spot I would say I had a really good time.
Review Source:My husband and I always scope out Groupon deals since we are a one income family. We have gone to great bar restaurants (Chickie's, Joe Santucci's, Nick's) which are all kid friendly. We figured why not pay half price and get a $50 groupon. We figured we could bring the kids along since we saw the menu first. We walked in and were not greeted at all. I actually went up to the bartender and asked if we cound sit in this one booth. The food came out shortly, and the portions were decent. I am assuming the guy behind the bar was the owner by the way he talked about the place. The food was mediocre.....not something I would have to go back for, but hey it was a good price. Our bill arrived and we had spent 70 bucks and some change. We had a $50 groupon so we owed $20.40 if I remember. Anyway, I handed the waitress my debit card, and she handed it to the man behind the bar. He looked at what we owed and I heard him say, "Does that say 20 bucks?" The waitress giggled, and said "yes!" He said, "You have got to be kidding me." She giggled and said, "I know!" She returned back, handed me my card and slip to sign and I handed her a 20 for a tip. She thanked me and walked away. The man that was behind the bar was now at the juke box, and he said to her... "Did they atleast tip you well?" She said, "Yes, they did." Even while getting up from our booth walking past the bar the man didn't even say have a nice day. He just watched us get up and walk out. Now, I know we didn't sit their drinking away, and rack up a huge bill which I am sure that was the purpose of the groupon. However, my husband and I are very loyal customers when we like a place. I would have returned because the food was not bad. This place left a very bad taste in my mouth and for that I will not return. Not very kid friendly even though a big part of the place is a restaurant.
Review Source:Great food great Beer not loud. What else is needed. Â Traveling on business and looking for a Phili Cheese Steak that was better than I could get in Phoenix. Â Should'nt be hard, but it was. (See my Casey Jones Grill Review for Phoenix). Â I wish this place was in my neighborhood, it is that great. Â Go here, eat, drink and enjoy the quite ambiance of an Irish pub.
Review Source:What a great find! Laid back atmosphere; feels like a small place though surprisingly pretty big, and awesome for specials. I've been here twice now; the first was for just drinks and appetizers. The wings as i have read from other reviews are indeed very good. Plus, they were on special for $.30/wing! Nachos were delish; as were the fries!
Second time around we ended up at O'Mares for their all-you-can-eat crab legs. These were fresh, hot, and very well seasoned. Granted, some portions came out with better legs then others; but when its all you can eat- there really shouldn't be too much complaining about that! Â Thanks-- will be back soon. Hey, its Wednesday; maybe tonight!?
Been to this place twice now, and I have to say, it's usually a good time. Â While the bar isn't huge, it's big enough, and the seating around the bar area is comfortable, cozy, and makes it easy to have a nice discussion with friends. Â The food here is above average for bar food, Aside from the pizza, I thought the rest of the food was pretty good. Â
I agree with the statement about this place being for an 'older' crowd, but only insofar as older means out of college. Â So, basically, it's a pretty good haunt for the 23+ crowd.
My hubby and some friends came here on St. Patty's Day. Â Our friend was playing in a band that was playing there that night. Â The place is small and we managed to find 2 tables in the back. Â We ordered "picky" fried food sampler and the pizza. Â The food was delicious (especially the pizza). Â Our wait staff was so nice - even though it was St. Patty's Day and so crowded - they still managed to take their time and be courteous. Â We had a really good time.
Review Source:Myself, boyfriend, and friends go to O'mares about twice a month for snow crab legs all you can eat (yes year round!) they are soooo good even for not being in season! The garlic butter sauce is so addictive, my mouth is watering just thinking about it! I've also enjoyed their other traditional items you find at bars... burgers, wings, salad, etc and have NEVER had a bad meal. The staff there is extremely friendly, we love Kirby!! The owner is super nice and runs his establishment efficiently! Seriously try it out, you will not be disappointed!
Review Source:Definitely a cool joint - I checked out the place based on other Yelpers' reviews. I can't speak about the food because I didn't eat here, but the atmosphere is definitely cool.
It has a small bar but it seemed to be filled with its regulars. Regulars are a huge deal in my book because they give the bar the personality, but also police the place. Â And, while the bar was stacked with regulars, as a first-timer, I didn't feel like I had anyone glaring at me when I sat at the bar. Again, another plus. Â
The bar area itself is cool, as half-booths surround the one side of the bar, giving customers a chance to still feel like they're sitting at the bar. Â I know I hate when I can't get a seat at the bar and have to sit a some table top, that's 5 feet away from the bar. Â I want to be in the action and this place's setup definitely allows for that. The bartender definitely had everything under control and had the bartender personality - so 2 thumbs up.
Overall, I gave it 4 stars just because I didn't eat - but I'd definitely say that this place is worth checking out. I liked it so much I might be going back today.
This is a local Irish pub. It is generally an older crowd of regulars. We went the other night and there mostly the usual regulars there, it got a little more crowded before they started the Quizzo but it was still half empty. They have lots of seating and have installed flat screens just about everywhere possible so it is a nice dive to see a game in. There is a open area in the back with a disco ball on the ceiling where you could dance I guess. Oh also they have an old school cigarette machine. So if you have old five dollar bills and some ones totaling to $7 you can use said machine and get an overpriced pack of cigs.
I didn't get any drinks from the bar but we did get some of their 25 cent wings (Thursday night's special during Quizzo apparently). Their wings are standard, not terrible, but not to memorable either. We also ordered the roast beef sandwich and a cheeseburger. Both were dry and lacking in flavor. Steak fries were descent though. Our waitress was very nice and attentive and after we got our fill of wings we settled up and took off.
The Quizzo began and it was being run like a high school teacher giving a pop quiz. You were given an answer sheet, questions were called out, and at the end you turned in your sheet for credit. Is this how Quizzo generally works? I thought it was all electronic now.
seriously, what does the owner pay the staff at this place? they are some of the happiest people I've ever seen in the bar business.
the food, from what I've had so far is really good, it's bar fare plus some extras that have come highly recommended. the drinks are reasonably priced and now they carry Philadelphia Brewing Company's Kenzinger! - instant extra stars for that one. there are all kinds of happy hour and holiday specials, and they have a dance floor and back room for parties, something like 30 per person for open bar and buffet with dj
