What a disaster of a place.
I was here a few weeks ago for dinner & will never come back. Â We got there around 7pm, sat down and ordered beer. Â We waited a long time for the waitress to return so we could order food. Â And finally when she came, she said, "I just want to let you guys know that we're changing our menu, and there's some things on the menu we don't have today." Â She pulls out a list. Â "We don't have wings, chicken strips, veggie burgers, crabcakes, shrimp, or anything with pork." Â .
I KID YOU NOT. Â THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED.
I was an idiot for not leaving right then and there! Â They should put a sign on their door saying half their menu was missing! Â However we were waiting a long time already, still drinking our beers, and we were starving. Â We ordered burgers, which It took forever to come out, and throughout the night the waitress was not checking on us. Â We had to keep flagging her down.
AWFUL PLACE. Â WILL NEVER GO BACK, which is a shame because I live right down the street.
Take this review with the following disclaimer: I was here with some people after attending the funeral of one of our friends.
And now I regret celebrating his life in a place like this.
Not that it's this bar's fault. That's the kind of place it is, and we should have gone somewhere else. But, for cheap beers (and a decent selection, considering) it was OK. Grilled cheese was American cheese on white bread. Menu says there's an option for bread and cheese, but I didn't get one. Over salted potato chips, very much so. When the bartender was clearing our plates I grabbed the last chip for a friend (we hadn't eaten much all day), only to get an eye roll (yes I did see that).
Mozz sticks actually were not that bad. Not too crowded for a Sunday afternoon, so that meant quick service, which was typically pretty good. I can't say that I would come here in the evening, for fun, but because I don't live in this part of Philly (or Philly at all) I don't have to make that decision.
