The food here is really amazing! Â We stopped in for brunch and were pleasantly surprised. Â I had the salmon sandwich; basically a cream cheese and lox bagel on ciabatta bread. It was delicious! Â He had eggs benedict which he thought was very tasty as well.
We both had "flavored mimosas" which were good, but not mimosas (there was no OJ). Â Service was lovely and the small outdoor patio allowed us to people watch while we ate. Â The only reason this experience was not "five star" is that their draft beer list leaves something to be desired.
I've been trying veggie burgers all around town for almost twenty years, and this is the hands down best one I've ever had anywhere! They are just plain old awesome! I asked why they are so good and its simply that they are freshly home made... All of their other food is fantastic as well! Bartenders, wait staff and owners are all very friendly. One eighty  is perfect to stop in for a few drinks and an app with friends, or a romantic date with your lover, and everywhere in between! I highly suggest trying it out!
Review Source:My wife and I stopped in here for the first time recently to watch a football game and grab a bite to eat. Â We wanted to find a place that would be at least a little quieter than the "packed to the gills with screaming yahoos" places around 180, but have to admit we were more than a little concerned when we walked past about 15 minutes before the "big game" and there were a grand total of 2 people in the place who weren't working there. Â Ultimately, we decided to go and and ended up glad we did; the food was good pub fare (I had a burger and my wife had a salad, we split some sweet potato fries); everything seemed at least reasonably fresh and was freshly prepared. Â The place itself looked like it could have handled a bit of a deep cleaning and refresh of the decor, but it was okay, overall. Â There are a lot of options in this part of Newport, but I think we'd consider going back, based on our recent experience.
Review Source:The service here was great and all of the six people I was with really enjoyed their food.
The menu was a good mix for a group of undecided diners that included burgers, flatbreads, and delicious scallop and steak entrees.
The prices were decent for Newport and I would recommend giving it a shot if you are in the area and have a group of undecided friends!
Based on a weekend visit in September:
Ate here for dinner. A little pricier than Pour Judgement next door but the food is delicious. The ambiance is also a treat to the eye which is a plus.
Also went to the dance party in the basement on a Saturday night. It's like a secret dance club. Never would've known about it if it wasn't for some friends who are from the area. The DJ was excellent and played the best hits of today mixing in dance hit after dance hit.
The only bummer is that like almost everything else in Newport, they shut down at 1AM which is real early compared to other cities.
Also, good luck trying to get a taxi at that time as well. We made the mistake of trying to get a taxi the same time it closed. Unfortunately, everyone else in Newport is trying to do the same thing so we had to wait at least 45 mins before we ended up walking Downtown and finally catching a cab there.
I've had the best meals at this place!  I visited Newport about a month ago.  I'm just getting around to writing my reviews.  During my week stay, I probably ate at all the restaurants on Broadway.  I'm over the high priced restaurants along Thames.  Yes, these restaurants along the water have great views of the harbor and perfect for people watching, but IMO the food on Thames  is way overpriced.  If your focus is good food with reasonable prices, come to 180.  They had a great special on Tuesday's--not sure if they still have it going on. Twenty bucks for an entree, and an appetizer from a fixed menu.  I ordered the sea bass which came with risotto and smoked asparagus.  The sea bass was amazing. It was topped with a chili sauce that was amazing.  The risotto was on point.  Cooked to perfection.  It was nice and creamy.  Finally, the asparagus was a nice surprise.  It had a smoke flavor that was out of this world.
The bartender was awesome. Â He was the only one working and he had about five tables to manage. Â He hustled and still gave us great service. The wine pours were very generous too. Â We called it the "Newport pour." Â I can't wait to go back.
Fun little dance club downstairs with a stripper pole.
Had drinks with friends here on a Saturday night, and maybe with college winding down, and not quite tourist season, it was pretty quiet. Â We were seated in the bar/lounge area as you first walk in. Â I was amazed with the prices. Â $23 for sambucca, a beer, and two glasses of wine? Â YES PLEASE! Â I will definitely be returning.
Review Source:NOTE: Â Only visted for the downstairs bar & music on a Saturday night in January. Â
Downstairs on a Saturday night turns into a dance party. Â There's a full bar (if that's your poison), but also a DJ that plays good music and plenty of space to dance the night away. Â Since we were there in January, it wasn't overly crowded -- but was the busiest place that we went to that night. Â (This was stop #3 of 3). Â
The ceiling is low and painted black -- not sure why. Â Good place to dance with a group of friends. Â The fish tank built into the wall and the dancing pole are just funny talking points. Â
Not sure if I'd go back in the summer -- could imagine it being SUPER HOT and STICKY.
What I would consider a "hidden gem," right in the center of Newport's crazy "locals" bar scene. Â I've only been a couple of times, with each experience as pleasant as the last. Â The drinks are poured well, the staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is relaxingly chill. Â The house made potato chips with gorgonzola fondue is scrumpdidlyumptiouse. Â I'm also a big fan of their risotto. Â Thank you one eighty, for not being a disappointment but an awesome surprise!
Review Source:First of all, Broadway has the best food in Newport, hands down. Â Yea seafood joints along the wharfs are awesome, but I'd rather get it from Anthony's in Middletown and grille out back of your awesome condo rental. Â 180 is one of Broadway's best kept secrets. Â There is a lot of competition on the street, but 180 belongs. Â Excellent bartenders first of all, John's great and my favorite in Newport is Angie. Â No matter how hard or drunk her customers are, I've never seen her in a bad mood. Â I remember another sweet as pie bartender there that had to be 8 months pregnant. Â She remains nameless to me, but she's great. They are constantly working to improve the nightlife there.
As for the food, their steaks are great, pizza's great, and homemade chips and cheese are good for snacking with beer.  It  is a well-rounded restaurant with a friendly staff that doubles as an excellent bar after hours....a bar which is located off the beaten path, and one of your best bets in winter.  Super cozy with Miami music, outdoor smoking area, street parking, and beat the lines for a drink at the upstairs bar. Â
I split my time between NY and Newport, so I am more familiar with the area than most. Â Let it be known the bar is called 180 for a reason, as it used to be the most degenerate ridden, disgusting mole hole of a bar that brought down the stock on the entire street. Â Parents wouldn't dream of dropping teens off for a shopping day anywhere near this place. Â They've come a long way. Â Rock on guys!
Great dinner and atmosphere!
We went for dinner on a Saturday night in January and got seated immediately. Â The waitress was friendly and provided helpful recommendations for appetizers, entrees, and wine.
I had the crispy salmon, which was excellent. Â The homemade chips with gorgonzola were good but a little heavy for my taste. Â I also had a wine flight, which I love but wished they would have had a pre-selected option. Â I had to pick my own but it wasn't too hard because the wine list is not overly long.
The price was very reasonable for being in Newport and a nice restaurant.
We loved it and would go back again.
Ok. I wanted to like this place...I really did. But every opportunity they had to disappoint- they took. Five of us ladies attempted a birthday dinner here on a Sunday night. There were a total of 4 filled tables in the place, 1 waitress, 1 cook and 1 bartender....here's how the night went down.
As they attempted to pour our water upon arrival, a glass shattered and was left in the middle of the floor as he kept on filling the other glasses on the table. Eventualy this was cleaned up but we waited about 20 minutes for that other glass of water.(Yes we asked...several times). We asked for bread and we were told it was in the oven??? Cocktails were decent. Appetizers of the night consisted of spinach artichoke dip and Thai style calamari. This part went ok until my friend pushed her full app plate away and said...wow...i dont think that piece of hair is mine....this rapidly ended our appetizer experience. As the waitress was clearing our table she asked us to repeat a part of our entree order....we then observed her to go over to the computer to input it...timing did not seem to be her forte.
So we waited about 40 minutes after our app plates were cleared and then we received our dinners. Grilled pizza, Seafood cioppino, scallops and seafood raviolli. The food was pretty good.
The experience.....more aggravating than it was worth. The ambiance was nice- will i go back- probably not
