Bought a package through livingsocial for my wife's birthday. I surprised her with the trip and she was ecstatic. The staff was great. SO accommodating and friendly. Not once was I treated differently because I had a livingsocial. The gardens were beautiful, Spa was relaxing, and dinner was delicious. The rooms are so cute and quaint, with their own fireplaces and back patios. We will definitely be returning!

Rooms are cute, you get a little back patio. The restaurant is relaxing, wine is yummy, food is pretty good, just not the breakfast buffet thing they have in the morning. I don't get the whole fake egg stuff. That's what it tastes like, powdered eggs mixed with water than baked or something. I really like the lounge area. Very relaxing with a fireplace and nice live music. We had a talented guy just playing some acoustic stuff while we drank a lot of wine. Overall not a bad place.

Oregon Garden Resort is a little less than the sum of its parts, but is in a gorgeous setting with lots to explore nearby.

The jacuzzi was nice and clean, and  the right size to share with another guest but not be awkward. The pet friendly rooms were great, and dogs are allowed all over the grounds. The landscaping is very pretty, with nursery plants and Oregon natives thoughtfully intermingling.

There were some rough edges, especially in the restaurant. While the service was friendly and fast, the food was so-so. The complimentary breakfast is fine for grabbing a bite, but it's nothing special besides that. Coffee was actually pretty good.

The "dressing" on the Thanksgiving plate, was chunks of rolls drenched in gravy. Even worse, the pumpkin pie was still frozen at seven PM. The goat cheese appetizer was pretty good, and a big plus for vegetarians is that they will add Field Roast sausage to any dish in place of protein. Also, hello! Nice wine list.

It's super cool to only have to do a one-night stay and get away to a quintessential part of Oregon, with art, farms, architecture, vineyards, an eccentric cool little town (Silverton)... Great for road trippers or locals.

Don't go here for thanksgiving dinner. It took 2 hours and 20 minutes to get through a simple dinner of bread, salad, entree and desert. The entrees our party had were turkey, prime rib, and sea food pasta. There were 7 of us, so we HAD to pay the 18% mandatory gratuity, for sad service. One of our party was hit in back by chair leg and another was served drink in a chipped glass, but the worst was the very long wait between the salad and the entree. we are talking about an hour between both for mediocre food. The turkey - white meat was dry and stiff, dark meat was grissly for five of us. It looked like shredded pork. The prime rib was ok, but looked not so. The pasta! The simplest of all, was the last to hit the table a good five minutes behind everyone else's entree. So we tried to wait to eat, but couldn't :-(

    Would not go there again.

Atmosphere: it was very friendly and homelike. I've not been to an area as quiet as this ( Seattle).

Rooms: very comfortable, loved the inside fire, and porch outside. I wished we stay an extra day because I was barely getting comfortable on my second day.

Package:$169-2 nights for 2 adults, 4 winery passes, a free dinner for two with a wine bottle, unlimited breakfast for two days, and unlimited pass to the garden. It's deal was great!

Garden: I expected a bigger garden, but I can't complain. I can tell they were still adding more to the garden.

Garden restaurant: we ordered two different meals- salmon with Cesar salad and a rib eye ( that was suppose to be a prime rib) with a field salad. The only complaint I had was that the rib eye tasted burnt on top. I didn't want to inform the waitress because it seem like she was having a hard time already. Her name was Peggy, she almost forgot to give our leftovers if we didn't ask for it. I enjoyed the baked potato and salad and some of my boyfriend's salmon. The staff was nice overall.

We stayed here with the Dinner Package, which offered amazing value: an attractive, well-insulated king room with private patio; free parking; dinner for two with a bottle of wine; above average buffet breakfast; and admission to the Garden. Our room was fragrant from cleaning products when we arrived, but the day was warm so we were able to open the windows and two doors for excellent ventilation. Our room and our friends' room stayed warm, so we were all happy to be able to leave windows open at night.

I really debated between four and five stars on this review. So much of what we experienced was truly 5 stars. First, the Oregon Garden itself is just stunning and deserves a good amount of time to explore. Start with the tram tour and then plan to do some walking. The resort was very nice. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Our room was lovely and roomy, with a high ceiling, fireplace, back patio and a comfortable bed. Very reasonably priced for the quality. Very clean. My boyfriend had a massage at the Spa and was very impressed with the treatment and the experience. We had a drink in the bar and caught the Oldies band. The bar staff was very efficient. The band was so-so, but entertaining enough. Breakfast the next morning was just OK. A few hot food options plus the usual continental options, buffet style. The food quality just didn't match the quality of the rest of the resort. The coffee was mediocre at best. Some improvement to the guest breakfast options would be our only suggestion. Overall, it was a great stay and we plan to go back again.

The only reason we went here was because of a coupon that we got.  I would never stay here again...and i wish the reviewers would rate them on the regular price not because they had a good deal.  I am going to try not to rant but I was extremely disappointed in our experience.  We stayed for 2 nights on the coupon then I bought an extra night outright when I made my reservations (that was dumb).

The deal came with free breakfast buffet and also dinner with a bottle of wine.  The resort seems to tout itself as being quite classy and having fine dining or close to it (it could not be further from the truth)...at least in my opinion.  I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday and wow, how embarrassing.

The breakfast buffet...glad it was free, I wouldn't have paid 5 bucks for it.  The dinners well definitely not good (very, very bland) and we even skipped one (a free one) because it was not worth the price (free).  They ran out of the "Prime rib" on the evening we planned on having it and we ended up with a totally unseasoned steak...yuck.  As far as their free wine, pretty gross...thankfully we brought our own. The couple sitting next to us one evening left the bottle at their table and didn't even finish the glass they had poured.

The room was fine and clean.  But, don't expect anything more than a 6 oz plastic/paper cup though, no wine glasses and no normal size cups whatsoever.

There are supposed to be Spa towels to use for the pool and hot tub but the only ones we ever saw were the couple at the bottom of the dirty towel basket at the exit of the pool area. When we asked at the front desk for Spa towels they looked at us like really?...you want Spa towels and came back empty handed when they went to look for them.  We even went into the housekeeping area by the pool because no one was around to help us there,  the cabinets labeled "Spa towels" were guess what?...empty as were all the cabinets.

The lounge at the resort was very nice, comfy and cozy, food was better than the restaurant and drink pours were average...my real peeve about the lounge was that it didn't even open until 4 PM.  So we had drive intoSilverton to a tavern on Sunday to see the football games.  The Wooden Nickle is where we went and it was a nice experience good food and good drink .

Sorry the review is so long.

As I already stated I will NOT stay here again, it's not even worth the deal prices.

I chuckle whenever I read the reviews for this resort.  Seriously, folks, do you venture outside your neighborhood for lodging/spa services?  If not, then the reviews are warranted.

I have been here twice.  Once for a sister's birthday a YEAR ago, the second for a personal retreat where I spent the time reading books, journaling, and getting intimate with Yamhill-Carlton Pinot Noir.  I haven't been disappointed.

I love this place.  Whenever I need to get away by myself, without anyone knowing, this is where I go.  A well-spent $300 (with tip) in the Moonstone Spa nearly saved my marriage.  The folks in the lodge are more than willing to take care of every need you may have.  King beds are plush, fireplace hot, and deck ready to cater to your drunken stupor.  Please take advantage of the Lounge, service is good and fireplace inspirational.  Bring a journal, open mind and iPod full of dance tunes ready for your night alone!

We would definitely stay here again.
Went with another couple from the Seattle area as we had a 'package' from TravelZoo that included 2 nights lodging, 2 breakfasts, a dinner, admission to the Gardens and wine tasting coupons at 4 local wineries for under $200.
A fantastic deal and we would have paid more for what we got.  Nice rooms, beautiful setting even thought it was late October and most of the flowers in the Gardens had finished blooming.  We still totally enjoyed the Gardens.  Excellent Prime Rib for dinner and both breakfasts were a cut above the normal breakfast buffet.
If it had been warmer we would have taken advantage of the nice deck attached to the room.  WiFi throughout and wired internet in the room.

Excellent Resort. Extremely rude and tacky waitress ruined our stay. I have never been treated like that before, ever. The bar was fine and the room was beautiful. Just stay out of the lousy restaurant due to untrained employees who should not be working with the public.

Definitely a great place to go for a private and secluded get away. If you don't mind getting engulfed with your significant other, this is a great place to go. The rooms are separated into different little buildings like duplexes. The rooms are spacious and has a romantic fire place that heats up the room. There's also a cute little patio in the back if you want to enjoy the outdoors and have a cup of coffee out there. Bed was super comfortable with a good amount of pillows. Service was great and the rooms were super clean.

This place is amazing! Very few negatives.....The hot tub could have been a bit warmer, but hey, it was an amazing stay otherwise. They occasionally run a Travelzoo special or dinner special on their website. Book It! It usually includes full dinner with a bottle of wine, admission to the gardens, breakfast in the restaurant on the next day, and a beautiful fireplace room.  The rooms were very nice, and the resort is only three years old. We spent our next day enjoying the Oregon gardens for 3-4 hours. It's now ten years, old and almost completed. It's a wonderful stay, I'm planning on telling all my friends and family members to go back and try it.  guests stay in "cottage" style accommodations which is very appealing, since most rooms have high ceilings and no neighbors above. Very quiet and relaxing. I hope to go back!

Rooms are new and fresh and cozy.  The services were not up to par.  We scheduled a couples massage and were left without a second masseuse.  So only one of us got a massage. The food was good, and the view was great, but the tables arent decorated for fine dining.  Would go back again.

Went back for our spa treatment. Our package included $100 spa credit so we got the couples massage ($150 for 50 minutes). My wife seemed very satisfied; I was a little disappointed. The rooms and beds were very nice, as was the staff. My massage wasn't nearly hard enough and she never asked for any preferences or feedback. Just like the resort, if I'd have paid full price, I would have been very disappointed.

Warning! I purchased the Travel Zoo voucher and booked my room, dinner reservations and the Spa treatment months in advance.  The day before my reservation I received a call from the Spa saying they were filling up and i better book something.  Turns out they lost my reservation and it was for a couples massage, since we are celebrating our Anniv.  Booking early didn't help.  Now nothing available, except for 1 person and not at an ideal time that would work for us.  Thought i better check my dinner reservations and sure enough, that wasn't there either.  Just thought i better let everyone know so they don't run into the same issue.
I will review our stay once we return, 7/2/11.

The Oregon Resort was a pleasant surprise. The flowers and trees long and windy drive way up were impressive too.

From the brochure: "102 guest rooms on 11 acres of beautiful garden grounds, Oregon Garden Resort features 17 guest cottages housing six rooms each.  All rooms feature fireplaces and priveate landscaped patios or decks."

Our reservation for $119 a night came withe breakfast, $2 off a drink in the lounge, 2 free tickets to the Oregon Garden (valued at $10 a piece), buy 1 get one half off lunch entree.

Our room had 2 queen beds, a gas fire place, coffee maker, fridge, microwave, and had a nice sitting porch with a view of the lodge and the mountains.

We ate dinner at the Garden View Restaurant and the food was fantastic!

I would give this place 5 stars but they don't have wireless Internet. They do have a business center that has 1 computer and a printer.

The lounge has live music every night and a cozy fire.

The hotel offers pet friendly rooms and non-pet friendly rooms so you know there wasn't any pets ever staying in your room if you have allergies.

The hotel has a direct access to the garden right by the restaurant. They also offer a tram service if you don't want to walk the extensive garden (which is one of the largest public display gardens in the Northwest).

There were a lot of older clientele on a tour bus. There was also a wedding going on at the hotel while we were there. It probably would be a great place to hold an event like that.

We were there from a travelzoo special as well and felt it was great for the money.

The grounds & room were wonderful - very peaceful. (although - why no wifi???) Front desk was very helpful and cordial. Even though the spa had to cancel my appt due to the spa technician being sick, the manager dealt with it beautifully.

    But that restaurant....OY.

I expected a relatively nice place from the menu - filet minon, crab cakes, scallops - but when we walked in, it looked just like a multi-level Denny's. All booths. No music. Just not a good ambience at all.

We ordered a bottle of their house wine (pinot from Chateau Lorraine) and although we know our wines so we're going to be a bit picky, this was truly awful wine. But hey, we were wine tasting the next day and that helped us to decide to avoid Chateau Lorraine! lol

The server (a older blonde woman with a singsong voice) was pretty lacking in the service department. She rarely showed up during the meal, and she seemed mentally pretty checked out. When I asked to see the wine menu after we tried the bottle, she asked no questions, brought us the wine menu and then.... disappeared for 15 minutes. Meanwhile other servers were working hard, coming and going.  When she finally appeared wtih our entrees, I mentioned that we had been waiting for her so we could order a glass of wine from the menu; she seemed genuinely surprised at this. At the end of the meal, she actually asked if she could cork the house bottle so we could take it. She obviously didn't get it that if we opened a bottle of wine, then ordered two more glasses of wine, there must be something a little amiss here.

I had the crabcakes, which were godawful. The crabcakes themselves were passable, but they laid them on this drizzle of what looked like a balsamic reduction - it tasted completely burnt. I overheard one of the other servers advise a couple next to us to NOT get the crabcakes. Wish I had heard that advice from our server! :)  The salad my husband had was yummy but pretty overdressed.

The entrees (filet minion & scallops) were surprisingly yummy.
The server would do other stuff like only pick up one plate when clearing the table. Then she'd come back a while later and pick up the other plate.

The kicker: when we left, we walked up the stairs to the upper row of the booths, and there was our server sitting in one of the upper booths, relaxing with her cronies. No wonder she hadn't been around!

We blew off the buffet breakfast and ate at "Word of Mouth Cafe" in Salem on the way to winetasting. AMAZING breakfast with creme brulee french toast. We ate the next night at the Silver Grille in Silverton, which we would highly recommend  - now THAT place was wonderful! :)  We also ate at the "Gathering Spot" in Silverton for breakfast the next day and that was also really enjoyable.

HOW TO IMPRESS YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER:

Book a room here, preferably a package. If you can do two nights, it's preferable, however we did everything in one. While booking your room, make sure to book some massages with their spa. Start early as it is really hard to get the spa on the phone. Amarina gave me one of the best massages I've ever had. My boyfriend said I was glowing after and I was definitely grinning like the Cheshire cat until I went to bed that night.

Show up around check in at 3pm and spend some time at the pool if it's nice out. If it's not so nice out, hit up the hot tub in the evening and warm up with the fireplace in your room or also the one in the lounge. The setting for this resort is absolutely stunning.

Make a reservation for the restaurant, most of the packages include dinner with a bottle of wine. Get the goat cheese crostini-covered in hazelnuts and drizzled with balsamic with roasted garlic. MMMM. I had the seafood pasta-good and my boyfriend had the top sirloin with blue cheese sauce and mushrooms-amazing. The steak was cooked perfectly and the sauce was perfect. The portions were huge and we were too full to try any of their succulent desserts. If you didn't finish your bottle of wine with dinner you can take it back to the room and enjoy it on the cute little patio. The service was outstanding and the view of the gardens is spectacular. We also had a voucher for breakfast-pretty good selection, buffet style. Loved the biscuits and gravy.

If you are staying at the resort you can get into the Oregon Gardens during extended hours, pretty much as long as it is daylight. Just envision an early morning or sunset stroll among gorgeous flowers and fountains. Mmmm hmmm. You should check out the website before your visit to see what will be in bloom. It took us about 4 hours to walk the entire place and we did the 20 minute tram tour. They have a tram stop near the entrance to the resort. Super convenient if you don't want to/can't walk down the hill.

Be sure to check out the lounge. They have live music every night of the week. We listened to some pretty good blues when we were there. Happy hour is from 3-6. Pub food is served there until late as are the desserts. Decent taplist with a lot of local offerings and there are board games if you are there when the music isn't going. Speaking of music, you might also try to plan your visit when a concert is going on in the Oregon Gardens amphitheater.

The proximity of this place to Silver Falls (20-30 minutes) more or less demands a visit to check out some awesome waterfalls. Another option is wine tasting at one of the nearby vineyards. You can even bring some back for dinner in the restaurant-corkage fee is $10. You should also check out the town of Silverton-cute shops, alternative places to eat, and my personal favorite, Seven Brides Brewing. You can also check out the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Gordon House for $10 which you will see at the entrance to the resort.

We didn't spend a ton of time in the room but it was very charming. The rooms are in cottage style buildings-about 6 guest rooms per building. The bed was comfortable, there was a flat panel tv, a microwave, mini fridge, fireplace and an adorable patio. The vaulted ceilings were a nice touch. If you can't bear to leave Fluffy or Fido behind they offer pet friendly rooms as well.

Whether you just want to relax and soak in the beauty around you or go adventuring nearby, this is a fantastic place to check out. I didn't want to leave, but apparently this office in Portland will just keep calling me if I don't show up and that ruins the peaceful, zen state I achieved by staying here.... I'll definitely be back.

If I could rate them at zero stars I might...

My girlfriend and I recently stayed there after purchasing a TravelZoo deal.  It took us 4 weeks to get the spa on the phone (because they do not answer the phone), and when we finally did there was nothing available.  After downgrading our room to accommodate early check-in (because 10am was the only time the spa could see us), we were denied early check-in (at least at first).  The woman at the front counter argued with us, told us "I'm sorry but there's nothing I can do", then accused us of being abusive and lying.  All the while never doing anything to try and rectify our situation.  When asked if we could speak with a manager we were told there are no managers on the property on the weekends. WOW!  Once the woman at the front counter finally looked into whether there were rooms available, there was one.  As it turned out it had not been slept in the night before so she could have given to us without arguing with us.  Speaking with the general manager the next day as we checked out yielded nothing but excuses, and as it turns out they still haven't rectified their spa reservation problem.

In my opinion this place is extremely poorly managed and I say that because:
    1) They clearly sold more TravelZoo vouchers than they can handle, even though they've done numerous TravelZoo deals before.
    2) They would make a decision to never answer their phone in the spa, and instead try to call everyone back later.
    3) They have a woman working the front counter who clearly has not one customer service bone in her body.
    4) They don't have managers on the property on the weekend.

This is a nice property, in a cool location, but it is completely mismanaged.  The only way I would stay there again is if it was free.

My husband and I  really enoyed staying at this resort the past couple days. The suites with fireplace do look more like houses than cabins or cottages, so be prepared for that. It has a kind of old country feel and there are cobwebs all over the light fixtures, but it is a garden so I guess that comes with the territory.
The garden, there are more than 20 specialty gardens within it, including a forrest. It's beautiful, but best appreciated when you take the 20 min trolley tour.
They have a lounge area where they have all kinds of board games and live music, along with specials like "upside-down pineapple cake" martinis and "BFK's" (Bailey's, Frangelico & Kalua).
The first night we ate at their restaurant, it was heavenly. I ordered their special which was a Painted Hills tri-tip with gorgonzola and dark balsamic. Oh my gosh, it was lulling me into a spell-cast state of ecstasy. But the next night the special was really mild. I had to empty half the salt shaker on it, and then it was pretty good. The house Merlot is very strong, but has a great flavor.
The resort is only 20 or 30 minutes away from the Tulip Festival (great for kids!) and Silver Falls which is spectacular.

This is a quiet, peaceful property. Come here to get away from it all and relax for a weekend. The proximity to the Tulip festival and Silver Falls State Park is a plus. The "cottages" look like houses and you don't have anyone above or below you. The outdoor pool and hot tub looked inviting but our room was a bit far and it was 45 degrees outside, so we didn't indulge. The style of the property reminded me of McMenamins, but didn't have as much character. They do have a bar/lounge with live music every night, which gives it a fun vibe. The font desk staff were friendly.

We had a package that included the room, entry to the gardens, hot breakfasts, dinner and a bottle of wine. It was a great value for the money!

The room had a fireplace and small patio, both nice touches. Also high ceilings, mini fridge and microwave in room. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. However, the room had a bit of a strange smell and the finishes and decor were not as nice as I expected, given that this property is fairly new.

The restaurant has a great view of the gardens. Our dinner server was attentive, knowledgeable and eager to please.  Breakfast was decent, not amazing, but for a hotel breakfast, it will fill you up at least. (Scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, fruit, muffins, granola) Dinner was pretty good. Mostly steaks, seafood and pasta on the menu. I probably would not come here specifically for the food, but I would happily eat it while staying here.

All in all we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. I would give it 3.5 stars if I could.

We had our annual banquet in the pavilion at the Oregon Garden Resort and was pleasantly thrilled with the service, set up before the event and the friendly staff that helped up clean up afterwards!  If you want to hold an event and want the staff to cater to your needs, this is the place to do it.  Scott and his staff did a fabulous job.  We will be back!

Came back to OR for a family funeral in Salem and opted to stay in Silverton as no hotels in Salem impressed me. We arrived at night and drove up their long driveway to the main building where we checked in. Everything seemed fairly new and the front desk staff was nice. The rooms themselves are in these little cottage-like villas and were very clean and well kept. Being from Texas, I wasn't into the whole environmentally friendly feel the place gave off, but I understand it's their "thing" up there.

Overall, clean rooms with a good breakfast and nice staff.

Loved it.  We felt very young here and we're in our 40s.  The gardens were beautiful with pleasant surprises with each visit down a new path or around a new corner.  Free and private off hour entry to resort guests and their dogs, so we went multiple times.  Steak dinners were hearty and delicious, rooms were spacious, clean, and quiet and beds comfortable.  Our three day stay was peaceful.  Very dog-friendly, which made for a relaxing and comfortable time for us all.  Go in the fall when there are no crowds and amazing colors in the garden.

OK, so maybe not the most exciting place on earth, but this is the Oregon Gardens.  Gardens.  In Oregon.  What kind of excitement were you expecting?

The gardens themselves are lovely and the resort is nicely appointed with a more than adequate pool and hot tub.  The rooms were surprisingly nice with refrigerator, microwave, soft beds and pillows, fireplace, flat screen, and a sense of Eco-friendliness.

On to the included meals: I'm a foodie-in-training and it's generally pretty hard to impress me.  Considering the dinners and breakfasts were included, they were pretty good.  Would I be as impressed if I had paid for them?  Probably not.  I had the wild salmon with blueberries and hubby had scallops and steak which he proclaimed "very good." The Cuvee gave me a headache.

The real gem was the setting.  Getting to eat on the patio at sunset was a marvel.  Exquisite.

There is so much to say about the Oregon Garden. Their excellent restaurant is only part of it. Last November my bride and I took advantage of a package program they offer each winter. For $89 we got a very nice room at the resort, a diner for two including a bottle of decent wine and a tour of the Oregon Garden. The food, atmosphere and service were all first rate. Although the bargain deal is only offered during the off season, right now is a great time to see the garden and have a nice meal at the lodge. It's really one of Oregon's show places!

Come back in a few years....

I was expecting a resort where everything was in bloom and the food was fresh.  Instead, I got a resort where there's shaved bark everywhere and plants that look like they were planted last year!  At least all the local channels were in HD and we got all the other cable channels as well, but that doesn't matter, cause we didn't come here for TV.

I gotta say, the bed was very comfortable and the room was clean.  We kept the shades closed the whole time because when you opened it up, you were staring into some guys backyard and living room.  The resort had the feel of a real nice duplex in a nicer part of town.

We brought our family dog with us.  I was disappointed by the "Pet Area," which was basically some weeds and gravel.  How about some grass?

Resort food was fair.  The plus was they knew how to cook steak.  The minus, they couldn't cook much of anything else and the service staff was a bit slow.  Save your money and drive into the town of Silverton.

I recommend that if you do come here, make sure you show up around late summer when all the gardens are blooming.  We came in early may and there was not too much color.  Also, you can pretty much walk the whole garden in four hours, plus what they didn't tell us was that if you are at the resort, you can visit the garden anytime as long as the sun is up, which means you can visit outside the posted our of 10-6.  When the weather is nice, the views are magnificient.  This is a trip best saved for late summer.

I was very excited to visit this resort, not only for the vacation but also because it is pet friendly, so the whole family could get away.  This place still has a long way to go before becoming a "resort".  We purchased the dinner deal, which included dinner/breakfast/tickets to the Oregon Garden with stay.  It is obvious that this place is still very new, the garden looked like it was still a work in progress, with some gardens void of garden or greenery.  But, giving them the benefit of the doubt I'm sure the garden/landscape will grow into a fuller garden in 3-5 years. The other dissappointments I feel cannot and should not wait to improve.  First, the service.  When I went to check in there were 2 people servicing the front desk.  One lady was on the phone, and the other was answering questions for some guests.  Fine, but when the one answering questions was done, she just walked away.  Hello?  Not even an acknowledgement of "I'll be right back" or "she'll be right with you".  Not a single word.   Moving on, the next day we went to breakfast with the voucher handed at check-in.  The lady at the restaurant then asked the room number, why?  Apparently because people were "sneaking in".  Well isn't the voucher ticket enough-- after huffing let us in.    Speaking of meals, the dinner the night before left something to be desired.  While our waitress was kind- and tried to balance a large group and our table, the kitchen did not.  I ordered filet mignon medium-rare and it came medium-done.  The filet was served with rice pilaf that had actually dried out at the top, and the "seasonal vegetables" were carrots. Not a great memory.  Breakfast was equally as disappointing, running out of food, milk, coffee, fruit, bowls/plates, even napkins!  Unfortunately the staff did not have enough insight to proactively maintain the breakfast bar, but rather had guests ask for this or that.  I guess there were a lot of "events" going on this weekend, but that is what good planning and management can accommodate for.

A Haiku Review of The Oregon Garden Resort:

    Country Getaway
    That is so under-rated.

We visited this resort because we needed a quick weekend away and we got a killer deal on a package that included dinner, wine, breakfast, and tickets to tour the Oregon Garden.  The place is super nice, well decorated, and the service is excellent, but I have to say it's a bit bland.  I can see my grandparents having an absolutely wonderful time here, and I couldn't stop thinking that pretty much the whole time.  It's the kind of place where they want you to have a reservation for dinner in the nearly empty restaurant, and they give you neat little tickets and coupons for everything with your name printed on them.  The food was good, but if you are a foodie you won't be impressed.  The atmosphere is relaxing, they have live music at night in the lounge, and the gardens are gorgeous.  If I was over 60 I would have given this place at least 4 stars.

"It's like staying in a model home."

It also smells like one. Got a good deal online with breakfast and dinner included which is what took me here. It's super new, which is why it's like staying in a model home. The restaurant is decently nourishing, I wouldn't bank on the live music in the lounge. Early March was too early for a fully blooming garden, but there's a really old tree there that's neat, and the daffodils and magnolias were in bloom. You could just as well bring your own food and prep it via microwave at the cottages, and stock some wine and corkscrews to enjoy on the patio out back.

If there were more than 5 stars I would give them.  This place is a totally relaxing.  A beautifully decorated resort with a top notch spa, resturant, and bar with a huge fireplace to sit by and sip your favorite drink. The package deal we got was an amazing deal and I left feeling relaxed and plotting my return.
The rooms have fireplaces and flat screens and the beds have down comforters & pillows that you just sink into.
I highly recommend this amazing get away tucked into the little town of Silverton.
It was to rainy to visit the gardens but the grounds were beautiful so I'm sure the gardens are amazing.

I had my wedding at the Oregon Garden and Resort on August 1st.  We held a welcome party in the Wedding Garden, the ceremony in the Silverton Market Garden, and the reception in the Bosque.  All of the events were catered by the Resort and all of our out-of-town guests stayed there.

Positives:  The location is beautiful, service is friendly, things went smoothly, the staff is very accommodating and helpful, Christine Bradbury (events coordinator) is a lot of fun and knows what she is doing, the rooms are really nice and comfortable.

Small negatives:  Christine Bradbury can be difficult to get in touch with, my reservation for the wedding suite & getting-ready room got lost, and the card keys for the rooms kept getting de-activated.

Overall though, small things will always go wrong when there is a big event held somewhere.  And, the Garden staff was really helpful in trying to deal with the little problems.  For example, Christine comped a room for us to get ready in and let us use the salon space for makeup & hair due to my lost reservation.

In the end, all was well and the event was a blast, so I recommend the Garden both as regular hotel and a great place to host parties and other events.

Finally something has come along to lift the Oregon Gardens into a more visited place. The Resort is a treat, warm and friendly, rooms are bungalow style with fireplaces, flat screen t.v'.s, internet, patios and very nice furnishings. The lounge is massive but warm and good service the restaurant is pleasant with lots of views and the food was very good and moderately priced. We live in Silverton and saw a great coupon deal so spent the night 15 minutes from home, it was a fun experience. We would do it again at the regular price.
