This is THE original Outback Steak & Oyster Bar. The couple that started this restaurant sold the rights to the name "Outback Steakhouse" and the concept to the now national chain, but that's where the similarities end. This is one of our favorite places to eat in Branson. The decor is cool Outback shabby chic with the remains of a Bush plane suspended from the ceiling in the main dining area. The alligator bites are a favorite appetizer, and the Bush Bucket is a good option for steamer pot fans. Parking can be a little tricky, esp f they are busy.
Review Source:We are visiting Branson for a week and decided to try this the first night because of all the coupon cards we received at various places.
Wished we hadn't. Â Outback....the other eating places in Branson can thank you for NOT getting our business for the remainder of the week. Â Because of this bad experience, we decided to eat in the condo for the rest of our stay. Â We work too hard to waste money on places like the Outback Steakhouse....which is not the chain restaurant you might know.
In the atmosphere of being in the Outback, there are no bread plates. Â It was not fun to deal with these odd tasting buttery rolls and no plate. Â Once you start eating, you can't stop.
The prime rib was awful and we told our server about it. Â He didn't seem to care. Â I had the coconut shrimp and it was either cooked in old oil or was cooked at too high of a temperature. Â Again, just so so stuff.
And if you order a loaded baked potato, there's a $1.99 upcharge that was not communicated by the wait staff but on the final ticket..
Find another place to experience. Â The gamble will be worth it.
