This is my first time every writing a review on YELP. But I was so disappointed in this this place I had to share.
My sister rented this place out for her birthday. We had fun in the beginning when it was only us, until they opened the place to everyone things went down hill from there.
My sister and I told the bartender to cut my brother off because he has a bit too much. I mean he spent about $500 - $600 at the bar. Isn't that common sense that it was time to cut him off? But I guess they didn't care because he was tipping them really good.
They also WATER DOWN THEIR SHOTS!!!! My boyfriend and a few friends was sober and when they took their first shot it didn't have the after taste that a Hennessy or Patron shot should taste like. Also after several of shots, they were still not buzz yet when normally they would be after 2 or 3.
Overall, the place LOOKS nice and the owner was cool.
But the BARTENDERS are GREEDY and THEY WATER DOWN THEIR SHOTS!!!
I wouldn't recommend going here for a night out to drink, unless you want water down shots.
We have been on a quest for a place close to home that has a great beer selection. Â This place is amazing. Â Found at the beginning of Beerweek and we are hooked. Â The owners are wonderful people and the staff fantastic. Â There is a small menu for snacks, but the beers they have on tap are sublime. Â We were lucky enough to have some Hellhound and Abyss, but the Racer 5 is always a great IPA standby. Â Did not make it upstairs to the dance lounge, but heard it is lovely. Â The live music was really good as well. Â Fun place, nice peeps, great vibe...Awesome beer
Review Source:Make no mistakes, the Owl Club is a BEER BAR, and a very good one at that. They currently have twelve taps (though they will add six more soon), only two of which are run-of-the-mill beers: Guiness and Blue Moon. The rest are excellent microbrews, and at least half of them are usually IPAs. Last week they were pouring Racer 5, Denogginizer DIPA from Drakes, Sculpin IPA, Rasputin Imperial Stout, Union Jack IPA, and a Harvest Ale from Sierra Nevada, just to name a few. They tap a new keg every Thursday for pint night, when you'll find all the local beer geeks congregated to talk hops.
The owners are an extremely friendly married couple with businness savvy who create a great ambience. They have plenty of space and play a nice variety of tunes. The friendly and attentive (and quite honestly, attractive) barmaids don't know a whole lot about the beer they are serving, but the locals bellied up there can tell you whatever you want to know.
If you're a genuine beer dude, I highly recommend a few pints at the Owl on your next trip through Roseville.
love this place. Mark and Lorraine were the best hosts during my bands cali tour. super awesome hospitality, great service, tacos, and beautiful staff that no man will ever forget. got to play in the upstairs lounge where the lights, furniture, bar and arrangement in conjunction with the live entertainment/dj makes it far superior to any other bars on the block. big shout out to Tanya, May, and Aurora. Lorraine, thanks for the cookies. Mark, keep up the good work. the guys from Science Fiction say hello and look forward to coming back!
Review Source:Went here on a Saturday night. Â I was super excited to check this place out. The reviews seemed positive.
Maybe it was an off-night....I don't know. Â I was there around 11pm. Â The only people in the bar were me, my friend, the two bartenders, and three other creepy people across the bar. Â The staff was friendly though...and there was a DJ playing music...next to an empty dance floor. Â
I think I can safely say I've given up on the Roseville nightlife.
Came here on New Years and once again not to long ago.Thought it was pretty cool they weren't charging cover. Bartenders are nice and friendly. Even when I'm only downing Coca~Coa on the rocks.
Upon my last trip there was a couple being photographed showing off how sexy they could pose whilst they looked like they were "ballroom dancing". Ehhh heh. Right. I have no idea what it was for, but it was rude considering no one else could move without getting devil eyes from the girl. Oh well. Still fun. I guess, the DJ made up for everything by playing my favorite songs. Which I didn't even request.
(Hard to find someone who'll throw down some good ACDC)
By Roseville area standards they have a good draft beer selection here. You can find Pliny the Elder, Racer 5, Sierra Nevada, Sam Adams, Speakeasy, etc. The bar staff is very friendly and the service good.
The crowd was quite diverse with 20 to 40 something's mingling about. Went upstairs to the loft later in the evening and danced to a DJ playing new and old Top-40 tunes.
Had a great time, definitely one of the better clubs in the area.
A standard in the old roseville scene, The Owl Club is one of the older establishments in Roseville and with its distinct sign cannot be missd by passers by! The 1st floor is mainly for the drinkers, that is where the main bar is, the upstairs usually has a DJ and a smaller bar and lots of room for dancing if that is your scene. The first floor is where the kitchen is and the taco are cheap and delicious! For the smokers out there you will be happy to know that there is a back area where you can smoke AND drink, as well as a DJ o the first floor as well. The owl club is a great spot in that it harbors to both young and old, some places like Onyx or Basic definitley favor a younger crowd, but the Owl is definitley not age biased. The bartenders are reliable, though sometimes not the strongest drink makers, just depends on who you get. overall a very nice experience to your journey to old roseville!
Review Source:What can I say about this place! The owners, Mark and Lorraine, are some of the NICEST people around! They sure know how to make sure their customers are satisfied! The newly re-done upstairs "loft" is very chic, and is available for rent for private parties too.
On the weekends, the "Loft" usually plays host to R HOUSE, which showcases some of the best local house DJs around! Downstairs is top 40 dancing with DJ 8-track. This bar keeps its old Roseville Charm, and the bartenders are always there with a smile.
They also have Tap the Keg night during the week, and then weekends have TWO FOR ONE specials! (including my favorite, mmmm TEQUILA)
I love the special pint nights on Thursdays. Â They will put some excellent craft beer on tap. Â Sometimes they will whip out a keg of hard to find beer, which is always a treat! Â The prices rock. Â The tacos are great ($1 each, can't beat that). Â I'm glad the new owners continued the craft beer spirit (and tacos) of the previous owners. Â We love this place!
Review Source:The Verdict: Come for the $1 tacos and up-and-coming new DJ dance shows."
Not sure how I got out here to Roseville, but glad I found The Owl Club. This is a cool small bar with a decent downstairs and upstairs. The bouncers are nice and the bartender and wait staff are very friendly. The night I went there was alternative and modern dance mixing on the first floor and very cool dance, trance, house mixing on the top floor. Drinks are reasonably priced and if you get on the guest list, there is no cover. There is a bathroom on each floor and they place is overall kept clean. The crowd is chill and friendly too. Of course, the chicken tacos ($2) vs. the beef ($1) are completely delish. I had two! The selection of draft beers is also very nice here.
Would I Recommend It? Yes, a low-key, well-maintained dive bar/club with style.
I plan on having a solid 4 star experience here tonight!
I've been here quite a few times before, sometimes its chill, sometimes it rocks, but never a bad time!
They have jukebox, a pool table, back patio, 1$ tacos, Guinness on tap (and its typically a $1 per pint cheaper than any of their neighbors). The crowd pretty laid back, the bartenders are friendly and keep up pretty well when they are busy. Of the places included in said "Roseville crawl", this is probably my favorite!
A friend of mine rented out the upper floor for a birthday party, and when you do this, you can basically have your own band, dj, or whatever. They simply open up the upstairs bar including bartender of course, and you can set your own cover to come upstairs, or no cover if you choose etc.
The owl club has become our regular weekly destination! Â The owners are so friendly and make an effort to learn everyone's name, we feel so welcome and valued whenever we are there. Â We love the thursday night 'pint night' where a different beer is featured each week especially for this day. Â So we get to try something new, and sometimes obscure, every week while enjoying cheap tacos and great company. Â
The decor is fun too- the ocean blue walls, long bar, outside patio and pool table make this a place we'll continue to go for a long time.
I was just here for a private party in the room upstairs, it's a VERY cool space with awesome graphics on the walls, a stage and dancefloor for bands, it's own bar, and bathroom, and lots of seating - so you can completely shut yourself of from the bar downstairs.
The bar downstairs is pretty cool. The DJ that they've had there the two times I've been there has not been very good - very random music.
You really can't beat the selection of beer here. And the place is prone to having special brewer nights, for example, Mirror, Mirror Pint night last Thursday. Throw in $1 tacos, and you've got yourself a great deal.
Unfortunately, I learned a very important life lesson here. Eating tacos doused with habernero sauce while drinking pints of 11% beer is a really, really stupid thing to do.
Love the Owl. DJ nights are great, spinning fun 80s dance music. Staff makes good strong drinks and makes 'em fast. Oh, and the new logo is fab.
Owner Bianca is an excellent hostess and has really done a fine job with the place. She became my personal hero when she said "I don't believe in charging a cover to get into a bar."
If you find yourself in old town Roseville and are looking for a good clean bar with a fun crowd, try the Owl.
Owl Club is has recently changed ownership, so I thought I'd try it again. Â Pretty quiet place on a Friday night...most of the crowd seemed to be across the street at Main Street Brewing.
They've got a good beer selection, ranging from your standard Bud to Racer 5, Sam Adams, Speakeasy, and Sierra Nevada. Â Service was friendly and understandably prompt for being so slow.
There's a pool table and patio out back. Â They had a DJ too. Â Overall, the place has potential.
