I have a friend from Chicago who LOVES ribs. Â And just as I was trying to figure out where to take him last weekend when he visited, I learned about this family restaurant on the West Side of Indy. Â I know one of the owners at her other job and she gave me her card.
Let me tell you ahead of time: Â If it is volume you want, go here. Â I could not eat it all in one or even two meals. Â I had ribs, macarroni and cheese and dressing. Â The portions are huge and . . . very reasonably priced. Â I had no trouble with my credit card.
Also, the customer service is nice. Â The owner, George, asked several times if I was getting enough (lol) . . . well, yeah! Â We could have taken the food home but opted to eat at one of the little tables. Â At one point some rowdy neighborhood teens came by and George reminded them that they needed to clean up their language. Â They listened and moved on.
I would have given the place a four but I felt as though the presentation of the inside could have been worked on. Â It seems clean enough but just not very attractive. Â I am not sure about "ribs culture" . . . like if presentation is very important. Â But it would be one way to add value to the whole experience of eating there. Â The food was, as I said, voluminous, well priced and tasty. Â
Pa and Ma's is not haute cuisine. Â But it is a great place to visit, eat at and enjoy greasy fingers.

my friend & coworker kept telling me she was going to take me to this little place (in the Hood, will you be OK?) /hole in the wall (oh, I'll be Fine) BBQ place that serves breakfast on the weekends, after a all nighter & starving, Sat i got out of the vehicle, it's lightly raining, the 15 Riverside bus is going through the intersection headed downtown, the owner George had just finished putting his baked goods in the oven, his wife & co-owner Monica is talking about how the rain may put a damper on the community cleanup, & this little man behind me telling me how he's still pushin it, still able to work even though the rain is messing with his knee, Lorraine was asking me what i wanted in my To Go? Breakfast, yes it's to go, & i feel like I'm playing the Newlywed Game, asking myself what would he want? Lorraine is piling it on  in both "plates" containers i got Scrambled Eggs (really good, i normally don't like scrambled, since I'm with the best egg fryer in the world), Fried Potatoes, I said "do those have onions in them"? & Lorraine sighed "i can't take them out"!!! No, i said you can't have one without the other, great marriage, Fried Apples (still had some crunch (fresh?) with cinnamon  no brain-er bacon & sausage (kinda Spicy Yum) & knowing he loves rice got rice with Gravy (which he had Never had & liked them really well) i got the Salmon patty which was tasty, cooked with green pepper (i don't even like cooked green peppers) &  something with a little heat, one of the best Salmon patties I've ever had.  & Homemade Biscuits
i Rarely bring home breakfast, these "plates" were HEAVY, i would have weighed them but i don't believe in have Scales in the house!!!
i went for breakfast & didn't see the "backyard"
i can't Wait to go back for dinner, which I've heard their rib tips, ribs, mac&cheese is to die for, i felt right at home, the friendliest staff & some great food, i love one of their mottos "We cater to all flavors"!!
