Wait staff was incredibly beautiful and helpful. I went on a Tuesday and they have all you can eat wings for 9.99, but I decided to just with a tower of Killians. Kind of cool, this is first place where Kilians can be selected for a tower. Usually places choose a light beer like, miller light or coors light. (which they have both here)
Review Source:I always get a little giggle when I see a new Irish Pub entering the neighborhood; whether it be Kennesaw or Buckhead. Does anyone really know what a real Irish bar is? Let alone a pub? Writing the name 'Irish' on your sign or t-shirt doesn't make it one. The Irish bars around town, including Fado, sadly, is what people think an Irish bar looks like. It's like going to Taco Bell with the belief it is Mexican food. Clearly not the same thing. I digress.
Paddy's is just OK. It's a glorified TGI-Fridays but with different flare. They throw the word GUINESS around where Budweiser signs could do the same trick. The wait staff is dressed in tiny skirts and low cut tops, because that is apparently what Irish people wear and everything is green and orange because House of Pain did the interior decorating.
This is the closest bar to my office that serves Jameson at 11AM without judgement. The price for liquor has doubled in the past month without warning but so have their food items. I have only had nacho's and that isn't really a good example of what their menu has to offer but it was enough to break up the 2 shots of Jameson I demolished in 20 minutes. What can I say? Just like Garfield, I hate Mondays.
I think if there were Irish people in Kennesaw they would be insulted by the ridiculous uniforms, beer selection, and food, because its all a little tacky. My guess is the owners have never been to Ireland, which is fine, just don't present the bar as an 'Irish' pub.
The young waitstaff was nice and were trying hard. I will give them that, but overall its just not our kind of hang out.
We picked up the Coupon Quickie book and saw that Paddy's had 1/2 off of all food and drink on Mondays. Â I went to the website to check out their menu. The website also advertised the same "1/2 Price on Mondays Sale". Â The food looked good, so the family loaded up and went in. Â However, when we arrived the waitress said the sale was only 25% off on Mondasy. Â I pointed out the sale ad. Â She went and got the OWNER. Â The owner said that she would NOT honor the ad. Â I explained that the website also advertised the special. Â Amber (the owner) said she would not honor that either. Â She tried to explain that the sale was supposed to end at the end of February. Â The ad was in the MARCH Quickie book!! Â What?!?! Â This is from the owner? Â Amber is her name.
Review Source:I used to love this place but not anymore sadly.
This place used to be a great neighborhood bar & grill where I loved to come eat and drink but they totally changed and turned to crap. Here is my list of grievances.
a) my waitress barely attend to me at all and bring me change in all ones, clearly expecting her tip for such awful service. If I have to flag down another waitress to get a beer, you're doing your job wrong.
b) My waitress very openly hit on my boyfriend. like hello do you see me? Am I invisible, is this thing on?
c)Waitresses' skirts on uniforms are so short, they need to wear a hair net just to meet health code. I'm not a prude by any means but damn. lol. At least the Hooters girls can bend over.
d) Food is okay at best. I used to really like it but its almost like they changed it over night so i'm not sure what happened. My tomato basil soup was hot water with tomato chunks and a shit ton of basil floating in it. Pepper couldn't even save it. And my tuna melt wasn't hot, or melted. Seemed microwaved at best.
e) They took my favorite hard cider off the menu with no warning. booooooo
f) This is my biggest complaint, Drinks used to be really cheap here. $2 miller, $2 cider, $4 bombs. Then with absolutely no warning they doubled all their drink prices. didn't find out until I got the bill. So thanks alot for that one Paddy's.
If you want to go to an Irish bar, drive to Towne Lake and go to Donovan's. If you want to stay close to the area Paddy's is in and just go to a bar, there's Electric Cowboy, Bullfrogz, Diamond Dave's if you are brave (He's the guy who owns Runaround Sue's too so i mean there you go.)
Did you see what the waitresses were wearing? LOL. Black and green striped thigh-high stockings with short skirts and matching tops during LUNCH. On a weekday. When corporate types like my company go to lunch.
Hey, I'm all for the scantily clad waitresses. But there's a sense of untastefulness (not a word?) here. ANYWAY, onto the food. Best Reuben I've had thus far in K-town and I'm a Rueben officianado. Just ask my husband. I order it at every restaurant and slowly pick apart the construction of the sammy as well as the bread sogginess, amount of 1000ISL related to the amount of sauerkraut, and If it has pickles. Must have pickles.
I know I'm strange but I really don't give a f#3$.
I have to agree with most of the other 3 star reviews here. Â I wanted it to be more but in the end its really just a nice neighborhood bar with a college crowd some nights. (Close to KSU)
Had lunch about 4 times so far, had 2 good and 2 OK lunches. Â The fish and chips was a disappointment. The rueben/Patty melt was good. Â I think the beer selection is a little weak, I was definitly expecting a wider selection. Â The wait staff has been good and pays attention, except one night I was sitting at bar and the bar staff was slow or distracted and the bar was half full. Â
I will keep going back, at least I can smoke a cigar on outside patio.
If you're in Kennesaw and looking for a fun bar with good food and cheap drinks, then call Paddy's home! We've designate this our Friday night spot. Come on, $1 draughts, $1 Jello Shots, $2 Irish Whiskey shots and $3 Guinness! How can you complain about that when you can get a good buzz for $10.
Plus the food is good, really good for bar food actually. I'm not sure why people are complaining about the food, you have to remember, it's a BAR that servers food, it's not a 4 star restaurant that servers a couple of drinks. Â And yes, it is a bar, themed after an Irish pub, but still a bar.
The entertainment is always fun and the patio with outside bar is great when the weather is nice!
This is a kiddy bar......
Lots of young kids that seem to get more stupid as the evening wares on.........
Can be entertaining if you want to watch people that can't handle a stiff night of drinking make complete fools of them selves.
Pros: Great beer selection and service. Food is ok.
Cons: The kids can get a little out of hand at times.
All and all, not a bad place to spend a Saturday morning nursing a hangover by the self help Bloody Mary bar they have set up. Then moving on to a proper poured pint.
Bar food but great atmosphere and drink pours, especially for us older folks. The female waiter staff are all cute and the owner (Amber) is one of the nicest people I know.
There are always food and drink specials. Every 17th of each month St. Patrick's day is celebrated just for fun. There is live music many evenings and "biker" night on Tuesdays.
I really like this place. Â It's got a cool ambiance and good drink prices and the staff is so friendly and just adorable. Â It's not as Irish as you would expect but their are a few items on the menu that would remind you of an Irish menu, but mostly it's Americana and English. Â Kinda weird, but it's good.
Review Source:Not bad... Â Love the deck and live music on weekends during the spring/summer/fall. Waitresses are quite nice. I have absolutely no food experience here but why would I. Irish Cuisine? ( It's hard to communicate a giggle...) Â Fried crap, burgers.... Skip it. I come for the beer and the exclusively female and attractive (thank God) staff! AND.....wait for it.....FREE WIFI!!!! Â YIPPEE!!!!!!!!
Review Source:I really like Paddy's. There aren't that many bars in this area that aren't a chain. There are some, but not as many as other cities closer to downtown. Their food is good, their drinks are reasonably priced, and I like that they start playing live music earlier than 10 pm.
The patio is really cool as well and I like that they have an outdoor bar to go with it. The service has always been okay, not spectacular but also not terrible.
We went on St Patricks Day. BIG MISTAKE!!! How can you call yourself an Irish pub when the live music does not even know how to play "Whiskey in a Jar". It was St. Patrick's Day for goodness sakes! They did not play any Irish Music at all. As Irish folk, we were not too pleased. Will not be returning.
Review Source:Paddy's Pub was good, but it wasn't what I expected. I understand most restaurants that are supposed to be "out of this country" are extremely Americanized, but I didn't feel as though I was sitting in an "Irish Pub." The only hint of Irish was the green and white outfits the waitresses were wearing. I should have worn my Irish hat to spice things up a bit!
There were a million flat screen TVs and the bar was centralized and very "alcohol-ornate" which I liked. The food was also pretty good. I had better Irish/British food at Universal Studios than Paddy's though. I intend on visiting again though, maybe during a sports game.
Will not be returning. When we arrived we were greeted by the hostess and decided to sit at the bar. Someone brought us out the vinegar chips, which were good, and the menus. We ordered two beers, and told the girl we would be ordering food as well.. We got the beers, and that was it.. No one EVER came back to take our food order, and we set there for half an hour with empty beer glasses with the menu waiting. Why? Because she was busy hitting on the only other customer at the bar, who was trying to read a newspaper. She NEVER came back. We finally managed to wave someone down for the check and just left.
Maybe if they could actually be bothered to try and SERVE their customers, it would be a good place, but I'm not giving this place another chance to just stand around ignoring me.
Sat down at the bar checked in on Yelp and saw horrible reviews so that I almost left. However, I stayed and had a very fun time. I drank the cheap stuff ($2.00 pints) and order chicken wings. In the meantime, there were free chips and tacos. The bartender was attentive and cordial. All in all a very fun time with the locals for a couple hours. Plenty of flat screens and music to make for a pleasant experience. What can I say except give them a try. I'll be back...
Review Source:It's a sports bar. Â You couldn't throw a dart in there without hitting a flat screen TV. Â I think the place used to be a barbecue joint and it still looks like a barbecue joint with a lot of cheezy green decorations.
The menu includes a number of Irish dishes as well as an Irish sampler. Â I had the Irish breakfast which was uninteresting. Â The rashers were pretty good, however scant; but the bangers were quite bland. Â Annie had burger which was equally uninteresting.
The Guinness was well poured. Bad rock and roll music is played over bad speakers. Â They had a acoustical guy singing covers as we arrived. Â No Irish music.
Like a "big legged woman" they've "got no soul".
We will probably be back as we both have children who live close by and I would like to give some of their other dishes a try. Â But, based on my first impression, the place is just another twist on being a sports bar. Â My advise, if you are in Kennesaw and want to visit an Irish pub, blow by this place and head to Keegans.
