Now I know where the hot bartenders work during the week days. While not perfect  the real thing that turned this pace around for me was the attractive bartender Casey. She was easy on the eyes and shockingly not a stuck up or bitter actress. Very down to earth girl who was willing to chit chat between serving drinks making sure I always had a full beer. Wasn't brave enough to do Karaoke but maybe on another night.

This place has seen better days, and I think most of the decline of this place is due to the same tired main guy booking the place.

The PA system is great, the sound man is usually pretty on it, the waitresses are fine... in general it's an okay club that can pack quite a few people. PAY THE BANDS, AND GET BANDS THAT ARE GOOD.

I did see a friends band there last weekend and was impressed with the line up that night. But this is RARE. Pay to play is a thing of the past people. I ask all the bands that played there, what they were getting paid, and the only band that got paid was the headliner..... Boo

(the reputation of this place is going down.... please bring live music back to the valley and just book bands worth seeing and that can actually put on a show and get paid.

    Great local dive bar!

They don't have craft beer on the menu (a little disappointed as that's the only beer I'll drink), but there a great selection of domestic beer and liquor.

If you're looking for a non-pretentious, hipster-free bar you can walk in and not have care about what you're wearing, this is your spot.

Check out the new Soundgarden video -- it was filmed at Paladino's! <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DoTaVHM6HGuQ&s=cc7d9f7e4ded77da8682c7c6afbcd206624ce60087e1fced1cb3eda6d0bcf3b1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.youtube.com/w…</a>

I hear the Foo Fighters, Journey and other rock stars hang out here. Foo Fighters are known to have secret shows at this bar.

This place is real chill, I've been here quite a few times to see a few friends preform with their bands. Drinks are reasonable, service is a hit or miss, they do ask for a $10 fee to get in witch is the reason I don't come by more often. I like being here with a large group of friends when a good band plays but this isn't my number one spot to go to. They have a few pool tables inside that cost under $1 to play and they offer free popcorn all night witch I think is pretty cool. If your looking for fancy this isn't the place for you, I would describe it as a rugged, and raw place to drink a beer and rock out while shooting pool.

Great vibes here everyone is nice the service is great...they have pool tables,a dance floor to dance or just head bang to the metal rock band playing live on stage!! It wasnt a packed the day i went but i heard it can get packed here,, but the one thing that is a draw back is the parking lot is very small....but Gray place to listen to live rock bands and play pool drink beer and have fun with friends...

Came here to see a local band if you're not familiar with the area like me it looks a little raunchy, I got a parking spot in the lot so I was happy about that. The stage is close to the crowd very intimate which I really liked there are a few pool tables and tv's if you're not feeling the entertainment you can entertain yourself and the bartenders were very friendly and attentive. The place is a tad shabby so that's why the rating is just okay

Went there once or twice, liked the hole in the wall dive bar aspect both times there were rock bands performing. Can't say drinks are super reasonable but not bad if you wanna hangout in a concert like atmosphere with a slightly older crowd.

Went to see a friend's band perform; cover was $10, which is fairly standard. Inside is really dated taking me back to the 1970s. The sound system was uneven, but not horrible. Waitressing was very good. Good selection of light beer, but my girlfriend had some awful merlot. LOL. Bathrooms were clean, which was a nice surprise.Gals ranged from plantinum blonde "look at me" types to some gnarly cougar-types as well as some non-descript types. All in all it's ok without the pretentiousness and expense of being in West LA.

As a music venue, I could probably make a pun about how this place rocks. But I think I'll take the higher ground in this and avoid the puns...

Wait, I just made one meaning I already failed.

In any event, this is your standard small "intimate" music venue, which pretty much means that the number of tickets needed to reach sell out capacity will exclude you from any shows by bands you'd actually want to see.

Don't hate on the truth, yo. But if you are in luck to get in, Paladino's does have a really good sound system. When they aren't doing the whole music thang, they do have a pretty solid bar special and you can easily pick up a game of pool while there.

Friendly service and if your friends band or a friend of a friend's band is playing here, it's an okay venue after all. So you don't have to make any excuses to avoid the gig unless you really want to just not listen to them.

Paladino's Club used to have a good reputation of being a cool, local bar with a great variety of music to include some of the finest tribute bands. It drew large, lively crowds back then in its' time. For the past couple of years, the club has gone downhill, hardly advertises, and most weekend nights it's dead in the club. The bands often play to a dark, lifeless, empty room.

A good portion of some of the finest tribute bands I personally know, state they will no longer play there due to issues of either not getting paid at all, or not getting paid their promised portion of the patron's initial cover fee, (from some of the promoters). The club is empty now on most weekend nights, when it used to be rocking to the hilt.

I was hoping the two new owners would take an overview and make some serious changes to benefit their investment, and entice both the old and {potential} new customers to check out the club. Instead, the new owners have allowed the club to become more of a "recording studio rental venue" for the taping of some of the band's shows. This is only profitable for the band and the video company, and interferes with the patron's enjoyment of the show they paid $10.00 or more to see that night. You are told by either the band or the videographers where to stand, dance or rock, as not to be in the way of the video in session. I feel it is inappropriate to have a patron be asked to pay a full cover charge, if they are unable to enjoy the show they came to see, due to restrictions to solely benefit the end result of the video.

Recently, I witnessed a regular patron, (who was given permission by management to professionaly hoop/dance), use her discretion and only dance when appropriate. She was being yelled at and humiliated by a tribute band called "La Grange" during their performance. This was said by the singer in the band  "to be done only for the sole intention of an added "highlight" for their video". The band stated later their MO is "clowning around...that's what they do" {even at someone's else's expense}. I found it to be an unprofessional, tasteless and a cruel way to beef up their show. They could have taken the dancer aside, and asked politely. When this occurred, several people immediately left, including the victim of the verbal attack, and there was no one left on the dance floor. The videographers who are considered outside vendors, and not on Paladino's payroll or part of mangement, took the liberty to harrass this individual through cell phone text messages and on Facebook, after all the humiliation she suffered. This was an unethical move on their part, as outside vendors of Paladino's, and unprofessional of Paladino's mangement or owners to not at least attempt to contact the individual and apologize on behalf of the said band.

My personal observation is Paladino's Club will not survive in this already struggling economy, without any major changes to some of the obvious unhappy staff and outside vendors they bring into the mix.

I personally never will go back to this club. Unfortunately, It's the bands that suffer in the end, when they lose their consistant fan base, due to an unprovoked behavior by a band, vendor and/or management (or lack there of). They have lost my long time, loyal support and gained my 1 star rating at best--as one of the worst nightclubs in the San Fernando Valley. This is one review Paladino's cannot delete, as they have on their Facebook pages from other unhappy patrons. Thank you for your time in reading this.

What's up with the $$$ rating Yelp..? This place is reasonable. Me and a buddy just had a few drinks at this place and it didn't cost us an arm or even a finger. It was Monday and I hung our for a while. Everyone from the bartender to the regulars are all great peeps. I'm going back. Friendly place through the week and I heard their concerts rock. Whaaat? That was a pun!

Gotta give it up for this Valley institution. I saw my buddy's rock band, Lemuria, play here years and years back (like the mid-90s - you guys still together, Dave?). I also did some swing dancing lessons here at some point in time when that was popular (ehhh, glad that has passed). Now I show up for "Live Band" karaoke on Tuesday's with Mark Groveman's power trio. My exposure to this place is limited to the karaoke, but I can say that it's a lot of fun. Mark (guitar) and crew (Andy on bass is amazing and a regular player, but the drummer, predictably, can change) are a tight little unit playing around the Valley, and letting the "average Joe" play rock star. They can play a little bit of everything, but I would say their specialty is ROCKING. The stage is a good size for a club and you can really get the feel of what playing a small "live" venue gig is like. Sometimes there are not too many people in the "audience" (usually fellow singers), but that just makes it less pressure, and gives it the feel of an advanced performing class. Drinks are reasonable and staff is friendly. Keep on rockin Paladinos.

When to the International Blues Challenge here.  It's a big dive bar with a big dance floor, two bars, four pool tables, free popcorn and quite a few tables and chairs.  Based on the posters they usually play heavy metal and hard rock and a little swing music during the week.  It's a been a while since the carpet has been cleaned.  But it has a  big stage and is a pretty good venue to hear live music, which is pretty lacking in the area.

I'm not into rock, but my friends told me to go.  Great sound from the Iron Maidens and great atmosphere.  I saw a guy throw up, and no one saw it.  Awesome yet gross at the same time.  Looks like a strip club from outside.

ok this place has so much potential. so i hope they read these reviews. ok so pladinos charges a 10 dollor cover. i belive these go to the band if thats the case good on you..
if not stop being greedy! you will get my 10 bucks when i get a Beer!,  then again it should be 5 bucks it's the valley not Sunset strip

also I think the sound system sounds like a tin can from far away.. unless your infront of the stage.

also the food was good but i wish i got more then what i payed for.. i got like 5 onion rings for 5 bucks not even very big ones at that...

to paladinos rather then being a follower and cheap.. be a leader  Sfv isnt known for having any real good orignal bands.. maybe have a battle of the bands have cheap drinks ( well drinks) are fine and hire a promoter or atlest better ones.. no im not talking about use La weekly. cross promote  with local music stores. good luck to you i hope the next time i go you will listen

i have played here about 10 times. its definitely the best stage in the valley. the 10 dollar cover is kinda insane, its not like its located on the sunset strip (which i also dont like to go to because of the high covers). but it has great sound and plenty of space, including a lounge area on the side

My 5 stars relates purely to the Tuesday night swing dancing put on by Dave & Kim.

How on earth did I not come dancing at this place sooner?? After 10 years of swing dancing, this is the last summer that it will be around. Based on the posters I see all over the bathroom wall, I'm guessing it will be nothing but cheesy cover bands in the future. Sadness...

The floor is actually really great to dance on which is surprising considering it's juts a dive bar. Dave's music is AMAZING...seriously....AMAZING. Best swing DJ I've ever had the pleasure of dancing to. Really great quality of dancers here, so I could see how it would be quite intimidating for a beginner but everyone is still really nice. They also have a raffle every time where they give out some free drinks and entrances to the dancing.

You can get free water at the bar, but I would highly suggest bringing your own water in...unless of course you like surly looks from the bartender which get worse and worse each time you ask her for water...even after you leave a tip....oh well. Other than the bartender, everything about the swing night is fabulous!

Disclaimer: This review is totally and utterly biased as it is HEAVILY swayed by one of the best concerts I've ever been granted access to.

Alright, so now that I've fully warned you as to the fact that  I'm the only one crazy enough to give Paladino's 5 stars, here is why: The fucking Foo Fighters played here. Yup, they had a secret show for which we all had to jump through several hoops in order to get in but it was well worth the emails and quizes and meeting a shady guy in a park after work because, well, this club holds like 200 people or something ridiculously small and yet I can say I saw the freaking Foo Fighters there!

It's grungy and dirty but has a full bar, pool tables, cranks the tunes, and has a stage. If I wasn't so scared of getting my ass beat on an average night there I'd probably wander in for a drink more often. But come on.... the Foo Fighters played there!!!!

I have been about three times.  Once to see a specific band, once with my friend to check the place out for her band, and then again to watch her band play.  $10 cover is a bit much, but this is probably why the drinks tend to be cheaper than most places - so if you want to get your money's worth, plan on drinking a lot.

I like the setup - the bar itself and the pool tables/game machines are in one room and the other room resembles a club.  The big room has a very large stage for bands etc...  and a large dancing area in front of the statge (this could be expanded to the whole room, but there are curently tables on the floor - starting about 10 feet from the stage).  There is also an elevated area separated from the stage/dance area by a 1/2 wall off to the side.  In that area is couch-like seating installed along the wall and more tables.

I have it bookmarked in my head as a place to go hang out with friends on a random night.  The bands tend to be pretty good and it's the type of place that would be good for just goofing off and playing pool.

My friend's band did say, however, that they will never play there again because they had a lot of problems with the sound.  The sound engineer was also talking to them about sound issues over the mic system in between the songs in their set - very unprofessional.

Came here to see my friends band, The Dead Ringerz! (Yay Melody!)

$10/cover? Bah... but it's to support a good friend, so okay. I asked and they said they have cover on the weekends only. (Since this was a Friday, I assume their weekend starts Fri-Sun)

$9 for a small glass of Maker's Mark? Seriously?

I was going to give this place a single star, till we started playing pool. They have four tables (50 cents a game) and the wait is really short. We got two tables in under 10 min.

Other than expensive and weak drinks, I thought this place was alright. That is till I stepped outside. Their parking lot is underneath a billboard and my car was covered in bird shit. I'm not talking about one or two spots. IT WAS COMPLETELY COVERED IN IT!!!! I went straight to those automated car washes.

This place cost me $10 to enter, $9 for a single drink, and $8 for a car wash. I was sober all night..... :(

I am trying really hard to rate Paladino's itself instead of the AWESOME tribute bands we saw there last night. Ozzy/Sabbath, Metallica, Judas Priest and AC/DC (an all female tribute band called "Thund-Her-Struck. Genius.)

What to say about Paladino's? It was so... authentic. I felt like I was back in 1989-1990 valley days. I was the ONLY woman in there who didn't have hair down to the middle of her back, at least. Most of the guys' hair was longer than that too. Lots of people wearing the shirts of the bands the tribute bands were performing as. We easily got a table on the side of the stage and a lovely cocktail waitress was pretty attentive, although when I did manage to order something, she never actually brought it to me. Odd. She is forgiven. It was almost sad. It was as if she was banished to spend eternity as a cocktail waitress at Paladino's in Tarzana.

Bathrooms were clean, crowd was easy, parking was fine, sound was good and show was hella fun. Do yourself a favor and venture oout to Tarzana and spend an evening at Paladino's.

If you're a director for porn films in the Valley, Paladino's is probably a good place to come and look for new talent for Leather Skanks Part 17.

We went to see a friend of ours' band play here at Paladino's.   It's not typically the kind of music that we listen to, but we nevertheless had quite a good time and the band played very well and, despite the fact that the room was pretty empty, still managed to rile up the joint.

Now as far as Paladino's is concerned, it reminds me of Dream Street down in San Diego or some other joints in SF South of Market in the early 90s (most of these places have now cleaned up to serve the rich loft populace that lives nearby.)  It's pretty much a dive joint with black lights.   There's a bar all the way at the back and the bartender is very friendly...  Had myself my first ever Jaeger Bomb here, a horrid concoction of Jaegermeister and Red Bull.   Quite frankly, I'd never really had Jaegermeister before... Well, either that or I blacked out those nights that I *did* have it.   Anyway, if you enjoy taking your NyQuil when you have the flu, then you should love Jaegermeister.

That aside, the place is cool and I certainly didn't feel "unsafe" here at any time, but damn there are some serious freaks here!   Apparently the local hookers were working the room looking for some action.  I second Stve's comment and would here put a plaque succinctly above the door:  "Thar be skanks here!"

All that aside, we had a great time!  The drinks are indeed cheap and strong, although that didn't stop us from spending upwards of $50 for both of us and leaving utterly drunk.   The band played very well, and it was interesting to see where the other strata of society get their kicks.

You might want to bring some lysol though, to make sure you don't catch anything.

If you're convinced that rock music reached its zenith in 1982 (and you still have the Iroc Z & big hair to prove it), you'll be right at home at Paladino's. There aren't many places you can find tribute bands to Journey, Bon Jovi, Fleetwood Mac & Boston, all on the same bill. If that's not the retro musical equivalent of chocolate-flavored crack cocaine, I don't know what is.

I once saw a metal cover band do a mash up Def Leppard's "Let it Go" with Quiet Riot's "Metal Health," and I still haven't quite recovered from the sheer ecstasy.

Tip: if you get there on the early side (before 9pm), you can usually snag one of the tables to the right of the stage.

I have to agree with everyone else about this place.  It did not look like the best place from the outside with the requisite black leather clad, tattooed bikers smoking and mingling outside.  I thought we were a tad out of our element and over dressed because our shirts had collars on them.  But that didn't matter at all once we got inside.

I can't comment on the drinks as I only had beers.  They ran $5 a piece which wasn't so bad.  I guess on 'Punk Rock Thursdays' there is a $1 beer special.  The crowd was mixed depending on the act.  Plenty of 'whiskey women' as I refer to them; ladies that have hit the bottle hard and not aged gracefully if you catch my meaning.  There were three tribute bands that we saw last Saturday night, an Iron Maiden (who's name escapes me), a Rage Against The Machine (Battle for Los Angeles) and Kiss (Gods of Thunder).  And for the $10 cover charge we certainly got our moneys worth.

I have never been and probably never will be a fan of Iron Maiden.  Not really my thing.  But the act we saw paying homage to them was... interesting.  The lead singer looked like Rob Cordery from The Daily Show with a soul patch.  That alone was worth the price of admission.  Battle for Los Angeles on the other hand I really enjoyed.  The band was spot on and the singer kept pace for a high energy show.  They played a good selection of Rage songs which I guess is fairly easy with only 4 albums to speak of.  I was pleasantly surprised to hear 'No Shelter' from the otherwise abysmal Godzilla soundtrack (I am looking at you P. Diddy.  How could you Page?).  And of course, would a Kiss tribute band be if they didn't have the costumes and theatrics of the real deal?  They didn't get onto stage until after midnight so the crowd thinned out a bit.  Too bad for them though, these guys put on quite the show.  Apparently it was The Demon's gf's bday, so she jumped up on stage and rocked out during their finale, almost flashing the crowd several times.

The sound for all the bands was excellent despite the less than optimal architecture.  I should have brought ear plugs to kill the sound a bit as my ears were still ringing a bit in the morning.  The bartenders were quick to help out and apologetic when they ran out of my Pyramid hefeweizen.  There is quite the lineup of tribute bands that come through here and I will be going back to see them.

There are two things in this world that drive me: 1. music and 2. cute boys. I am fairly open when it comes to the kind of music I'll rock/groove/scream/chill to. I am also fairly across the board when it comes to the boys I find cute, but there is one thing that will push me over the edge every time: white sneakers.

What the hell does any of this have to do with Paladino's? Well it's the reason I ended up in what can only be described as a biker bar specializing in rock/metal cover bands. We didn't go to rock out, on the contrary, the group we were going to see was of the rap/hip hop persuasion and one of the MCs was rocking some clean white sneaks.

The place was intimidating to say the least, but to our surprise, from the bouncer at the door to the bartenders, everyone was extremely friendly. The drinks were strong (STRONG) and cheap. But beware: this place is all about the black lights, so caution to those rocking anything that may not pass the "black light test". It is reassuring to know exactly what areas of the bar to adamantly avoid.

The performance area was larger than I expected and we even scored seats. The acoustics and sound system were on point and they did a good job transitioning set up between all the performers so you weren't just sitting around for long periods on end.

There is only one stall in the ladies room, which could become troublesome, luckily we had to leave on the earlier side before the serious crowd came in.

I wouldn't go back, but it wasn't as terrible as I was expecting upon driving up. I consider this payback for the Coach House experience a la Kate E. I will also go almost anywhere to watch a cute boy in white sneakers for an hour. ;)

I think that, by now, it's pretty obvious that I am living my own version of "The Truman Show" and/or "EdTV."  We have the "I am unknowingly starring in my own version of a reality show that I am pretty sure that everyone on Earth is watching" of Jim Carrey's opus and the "Tee hee, ha ha, pure comedy" of Matthew McCoungahaygiyewwhehehe's movie thing.  How do I know this?  Because I go to places like Paladino's.  Because people I know and love take me to places like Paladino's.  There is no other explanation other than the fact that ratings on "KateTV" must be dipping, so it's time for a Very Special Episode, co-starring a biker bar.  Who wouldn't tune in for that?

Allison L. and I quite often end up in places and bars and situations that we don't really expect to be in.  I haven't figured out yet if Allie is also unknowingly starring in "KateTV" or if she is pretty much the mastermind behind it.  Whatever.  So we went to Paladino's this past Friday for a show.  Sadly, it was not a typical metal cover band show that seems to be de rigueur at Paladino's.  It was a "rap group."  I put "rap group" in quotes because, well, it's a rap group made up of a bunch of rich kids from Nor Cal who all pretty much went to USC.  One of their greatest rhymes is: "what's your zodiac sign/I don't give a fuck/get in line."  Pretty profound stuff.  They also lay down some rhymes to "Come As You Are" by Nirvana.  Can I make this stuff up?  I say nay.

Anyway, when we rolled up to Paladino's, we promptly parked across the street at the Metro station and shook with fear.  There was lots of leather and bikes and tattoos and torn up shirts and suddenly, our fun blazers looked prim and I wondered how quickly my hair would get set on fire by an errant cigarette.  We almost did not go in.  But we did.  And you know what?  It was awesome.  Everyone was totally nice.  The bartenders and waitresses were kickass.  The drinks were strong and cheap.  The sound system made our friend's "rap group" actually bearable.  There were lots of seats.  The place filled up fast.  Granted, I sent one of our best friends (Catherine K.!!!) copious text messages telling her to look for us on the 11 o'clock news, to pray for us, and that I thought I could make a shiv out of my sunglasses if need be, and once the show was over, we ran for our lives, but I totally had a pocket full of flyers advertising various cover bands, and maybe one day, I will get so wasted that going to see them will seem like a good idea.  Anything could happen.  That's the beauty of "KateTV."  Keep those ratings high!
