Whenever they ripped out the original soda fountain and stopped being an excellent lunch stop with oldfashioned soda fountain drinks along with 3 floors of antiques to browse and or buy, it has been a downward spiral for this place. No matter who takes it over can't make a go of it. It was so charming and nostalgic before all of these changes (none for the better). Parking was never an issue when they were just opened for lunch and they were always busy with locals and especially tourists
They need to recreate which was once there and keep things simple.
I love the Old Pampell's should have change the name to something else. It does just not match up to the old Pampell's. I wish they would not have covered up the wood floor. I had a hamburger and the price was kind of high and very small. I cut it in half to eat it and then could not. It was to pink for my liking and it was also cold.
Review Source:Restaurant closed in late 2008
Beautiful setting in a restored 1901 building in downtown Kerrville. Â Very nice menu choices prepared expertly. Â Inside as well as outside dining available. Â A main focal point of this restaurant is the old fashioned soda fountain (still in use) that was bought from the St.Louis World's Fair. Â Open for bfst and lunch. Â New management have a winner here.
