Tried Papa Nachos a few years ago I wasn't impressed and didn't go back. However, they recently built a new restaurant building next door to the old one (which has now been torn down). Anyway, living in the area I felt I should give them another try. I'm glad I did. The new building is attractive and spacious on the inside.  I like good chips and salsa and their's did not disappoint. We had the choice of two quesos, yellow or white. We chose the white and it was nice and cheesy.  My husband and I ordered Chimichangas with ground beef. It was a substantial size without being too big and the meat was nicely seasoned and the fried flour tortilla was light and crispy. It came with the yellow queso on the side, next time I will ask to sub the white. I enjoyed the refried beans and the rice was fluffy.  Service was great, will definitely be going back!

Currently no beer or wine = -1 star

Queso had to be mixed with red sauce to have any flavor at all.  I'm not a fan of over the top spicy hot sauce - I liked the sauce she brought with the chips but the queso was bland to the point of being tasteless. = -1 star

3-enchilada plate - had 2 cheese enchiladas & 1 beef enchilada - I was happy that there were onions in the cheese enchiladas and the beef enchilada did have some flavor.  = even

Rice & beans could have come out of a can for all the good they were . . . = -1 star

That's it - this restaurant will probably do OK in Pittsburg - any closer to D/FW and it'd be gone in 6 months or less.

    P.S. my meal came to $14.55 and I gave the girl a $20 - she brought back a Fiver and $0.45 in silver.  I know it's a small town but if she wanted a tip she should have brought 5 $singles . . . . . Just a thought.

P.P.S. I was happy to see the two D.P.S. Troopers come in - I always appreciate the presence of armed Law Enforcement in any establishment - that way I don't have to use my ammo - it's too expensive these days.

Great quesadillas and fajitas. Chips were stale, the corn and flour tortillas were stale.
Hot sauce was great and the service was fantastic.

Very good Tex-Mex.  Salsa is exceptional, some of the best in East Texas.  I tend to order the Chile Relleno Dinner every time.  Many restaurants produce a chile relleno that is just too greasy.  But Papa Nachos has never let me down.
