I'll admit that when I saw a Mexican restaurant in Pine Bush, I was hesitant to stop in. My fiancé convinced me to give it a try and it was absolutely worth it. Being from Boston, we were a bit judgmental going in, but this restaurant was a pleasant surprise, so much so that we went for a second time a week later. The service was hospitable and timely, and the authentic food was tasty. I ordered the chimichanga and was happy there were leftovers. The chips and salsa were especially delicious. When we received the bill, we were shocked by the reasonable price because the exact same meal at a Boston restaurant would have been double the cost. I know people are disappointed that there is no liquor or beer there yet, but that should not stop them from trying such excellent cuisine. I guess it goes to show that you really shouldn't judge a book by its cover, or in this case a restaurant by its location.

Service is extremely slow (and poor quality when you do get it) - even if there's noone else in the restaurant.  The salsa they serve with the chips is horrible - tastes like pureed tomatoes.  The owners say that people love their salsa, but there's NO WAY!  The only thing worth having is the guacamole - it's made to order and is excellent.  The meat in their tacos, burritos, etc is so dry - and, there's not much seasoning.  The owners say they're from Texas so they should know a little bit about mexican food, but this is such a disappointment.  They don't have a liquor license, and while you can bring it in why bother when the food isn't outstanding.  Most people end up going next door to the bar to get some beers to bring over, but now the bar is serving excellent burgers, etc. - so, why bother going back to the restaurant?  Such a shame...Pine Bush doesn't have a true mexican restaurant - with the proper management and licenses this should have been able to make a go of it.  As it is, I don't know how long it will be able to stay in business.

My sons (12 and 15) decided to go out for some Mexican food. We saw that there was a new place in Pine Bush. It's in the location where the old Pine Bush diner had been.
When we entered, I was a little surprised. We were the only customers (dinner time on a weekday).  Nevertheless, we sat and were greeted by a courteous waitress. She got our drinks and gave us time to pick out our orders. I really wanted something with shrimp. There's no seafood on the menu at all - just chicken and beef. I was disappointed with that.
