Admittedly they must be doing something right since the parking lot is crowded every time I drive past. But the place tries to be too many things...sports bar, sushi bar, restaurant, night club, event venue, etc. I've been here twice, both times on Monday night for dinner at the bar. It was busy but not super crowded on either occasion.
As a sports bar, the place has a couple of positives. First is the numerous flat screen tv's. Plus they seem to have the programming packages for NFL, NBA and MLB. So if your favorite team is playing, they can put it on for you. Second is the reasonable beer prices. For example, they had a $2 beer special last night until 8 pm.
Unfortunately, the food is pretty awful. They were offering 2-for-1 apps last night. We got an order of Nachos and the Cheese Steak Spring Rolls. Both were large portions, and both were as bland as the day is long. The spring rolls were greasy and served with 2 dipping sauces...flavorless odorless "yuengling cheese" and ketchup. Yuck. I've had better apps from the frozen food section of my supermarket.
While beer prices are reasonable, the wine prices are simply outrageous. They get $45 for a bottle of KJ Chardonnay. That's more than 4x what you pay at retail and almost 2x what most (nicer) restaurants charge.
For beer and sports...highly recommended. For food and wine, not so much.
Had to give it one star, but really, it deserves negative(-5) stars...especially after you read all of the other reviews here!!! This place has "ALWAYS BEEN A DUMP" and no matter how many different names they slap on the front of it, it will "ALWAYS Â BE A DUMP". Don't waste you TIME or your MONEY $$$$.
Review Source:The first time i came i was a bit judgemental due to some other feedback of PE however we have been back several times and have had really good experiences.
Watched a Giants game on a sunday in the main dining room, lots of seating, quick servers and they serve beer bongs. Crowd was good and we had an excellent view of the TVs. I like that between commercial breaks they play music so it is def a good time.
Went to dinner with our neighbors during the hurricane for some grub, and i was pleasantly surprised. Although we only ordered appetizers, the calamari was really good and was smothered in buffalo sauce. I also felt like their prices were very reasonable.
Celebrated my birthday here with a big group of people on a saturday night. We did not do VIP but we did get a large space at the bar and enjoyed ourselves for the entirety of the night. We all had a good time, especially me :)
Some friends did complain that it was too packed but i didn't seem to notice. The music was great; every song that came on gave me a little nostalgia because it wasn't that BS you hear on the radio nowadays.
Drinks were reasonably priced, the bartender was friendly and quick - she was tiny and hard short hair. The have ciroc peach vodka so i was especially happy.
One note, as we left at least 4 parking attendants asked who was driving, which i thought was courteous and caring. It is as if they want to make sure all their guests get home safely.
Living right down the road, we will definitely be back.
So, is this place a sushi restaurant, American bar, Italian place, banquet hall, or chic cafe with 80's music? Â I was confused. Â This seems like the type of place that wants to be all of those things, but does none of them well.
We dined here on a Saturday night, and even at dinner hour the place seemed fairly quiet, aside from what we presumed was a Super Sweet 16 party upstairs. Â We've never seen one, but my wife claims to be the expert, so I defer to her on this one.
We were seated in the main dining area, where we were treated to a bar staff randomly playing loud music that mixed with the 80's tunes that normally played. Â My wife had a $6 glass of the house Pinot Grigio, which tasted like they emptied 2/3 of the bottle and filled the rest with water.
Most of the entrees are $20+, and I had the veggie primavera. Â Completely unimpressed. Â Small portion, bland taste, and I was hungry about 10 minutes after we left.
I mean, I know we're from the midwest and perhaps we were asking too much of a "city" restaurant, but I was completely disappointed by my experience at Park East.
I want to cry every time my friends are telling me that they want to meet me here.
It has "valet" parking, so be prepared to fork over some cash to some guy who will forget where he parked your car in their pot-hole ridden lot.
Once inside, you will be squished against 5000000 guys and about 13 girls. Have fun!
Drinks are watered down. I've never tried the food.
This place is SO disappointing. I ignored the bad reviews and decided to give it a shot anyway and totally regret it. The only reason i gave this place 2 stars instead of 1 is because of my waiters service. The food is very mediocre (i can cook better-- and thats saying a lot), and EXTREMELY overpriced, $23 for a bowl of bland pasta, like are you kidding me?! Sushi was OKAY. I wanted to literally cry when i left for wasting even a dollar on such garbage. I dont even know why the restaurant side is even open honestly. Granted they make you FEEL like youre in a 5 star restaurant but unfortunately it is anything but.
Oh did i mention they add their own 20% gratuity which you have to pay even though you are leaving completely unsatisfied. Thanks Park East. Never again.
Also i'm taking back my 2nd star.
Don't fall for the valet...park yourself. Sounds cheap, I know, but your not at a upscale place (although they would like you to think they are) your at a bar.....with a dining room....that doubles as a bar.....that has a club....upstairs...that doubles as a movie room for family night....or a autograph signing area for sports celebs....WHAT IS THIS PLACE?!?!? They try to be everything and exceed at....well, NOTHING. Sorry, it has to be said .No matter how many real housewives of New Jersey and tight t-shirted Gumba's come walking through the door this place is mediocre at best. Drink prices are good and that's probable what keeps the people coming in....it sure as hell isn't the food. I've had a number of things off the menu and the only things I truly like are: The Steak Bites (a appetizer) The steak is actually seasoned pretty well and the accompanying horseradish sauce is tasty.and the Punk Rock Calamari and Shrimp.....I think the menu reads Shrimp and Calamari but you get 10 - 15 pieces of Calamari and 4 Shrimp....regardless it is tasty...although I'd just drive a few more miles to a Bonefish to get Bang Bang Shrimp. This place is awesome for people watching though.....although for all the wrong reasons. (BTW If you sit in the bar area you don't get the full menu.....and if you sit in the restaurant area you'll wonder why it's 90% the bar menu.....not sure that the addition of a fish dish, a chop, and a steak redefine a menu)
Review Source:I went on a Friday Night
The place is trashy, tacky, and overpriced. Â
I had to first pay for parking(non-valet) Â I was lucky to have change. Â
I walk in. Â It looks like a episode of the jersey shore. Â the guy to girls ratio was hovering around 3:1. Â most of the guys were pretty trashy- heavy tattoos, meat heads. Â they wore baggy ass jeans with old jordans and a t-shirt. Â
The girls that were there were pretty nice but most came with guys. Â
the venue itself has too many TVs. Â typical top 40 playlist- nothing good
it is overpacked
the bar sucks. it is way overpriced. Â I got charged 12.50 for black label. Â that is more than my nyc tab. Â i asked for a old fashioned i got a few muddled cherries in whiskey. Â you can always tell the trashiness of a place when they screw up a simple drink like a old fashioned. Â word of advice- stick to their rum and cokes or vodka tonics. Â
they odnt have private tables. it is first come first serve and all too small for a large group.
not coming back
Food is not fantastic BUT when they have their Kid's Night... it's worth going to with a bunch of friends with kids... like their Movie night... we get seated upstairs, kids eat from their buffet (mac and cheese, chicken fingers, fries, etc) and adults can relax with some drinks, eat sushi, kids run around with all the other kids and the parents don't have to worry about offending all the other diners... a nice night out with other families.
Review Source:This is a popular/busy place. It has a loud and fun environment that suits the twenty somethings. Â That's what it has going for it. Â What prompted me to review is to warn others that some (not all) of the waitstaff is lacking in integrity. The waiter left with my cash: $60 for $50 of tickets. Â After a brief period he returned with the tickets in hand, but not change. Â I am pretty sure he had sufficient change in his apron since it was close of shift. Â He asked for info about who the tickets were for, phone, email, etc. then disappeared after turning me over to the hostess to book dinner reservations. Â After screaming to her over the music of the fun atmosphere I scanned the counter, scooped my tickets and left. Â I do not recall seeing my $10 change anywhere near the tickets, I'm pretty sure I would have picked it up. Â My part is I left without chasing him down. Â I called Park East the moment I got home at 9:25pm, less than an 8 minute drive. Â The hostess put me on hold and said the waiter left and the manager figures I "he must have thought intended it as a tip". Â Really?! Â Shady. Â I will write a follow up post as to if it was a misunderstanding, and also about how the show goes.
Post show review: Â Our waiter for the show, Brian, was attentive and pleasant and made the experience pleasant, giving me hope for mankind within P.E. payroll. Â The show was enjoyable but I was surprised the host couldn't even get the name of his guest stars right.
If you find yourself with a skinny, slick haired waiter named Justin, enjoy your meal and when the check arrives pay the tab itself but in the "tip" section write "Meal was lovely so enjoy the $10 tip prepaid by Heather". ;-P
If there was a way to give it absolutely no stars I would. Â We used to eat at Park East at least once a week and we would order take out about twice a month. Â In fact, just came back from picking up take out now. Â My husband walked in to pick up the food while I waiting in the car. Â Last time we were told to go to the bar to pick up food. Â My husband went to the bar and asked if he could get his takeout. Â The bartender shook his head in disgust, left and came back after 8 minutes. Â When he returned he placed the food on the bar turned to one of his friends and said "This is why I can't work here much longer, too many f***ing assholes." Â My husband was shocked. Â The bartender then asked "what do you want me to get your tab too?" Â To which my husband responded, I don't know how to get it, how to I get it? Â He directed a waitress to get the tab, she presented the tab to my husband, my husband said "I don't know what his problem is." Â She replied, "There is no problem" Â he said "Are you kidding me? Â He is making nasty remarks and acting rude." Â She said, "I'm sure he doesn't mean it." Â Then handed me my food, in a nasty tone said "ENJOY your food." Â To which my husband replied "too late!" Â Needless to say we will not order or visit this restaurant again. Â The food is pretty decent, but the horrific staff and service leaves a lot to be desired. Â Cross this one off your list. Â I will be calling to speak with a manager, but as the service had done nothing but decline for several months now I do not anticipate any satisfaction nor apology.
Review Source:Going out for a drink here and dance/sit at the bar, cool, but please never order food. Everything that was ordered, including the cocktails and bread they served, was disgusting. Nothing really good to say other than they use a sparkler as a birthday candle and the atmosphere is nice.
Review Source:I'm reviewing this place solely on the experience I had at my friend's birthday at Sunday Brunch. Apparently, this is not your typical Sunday Brunch: this is your Jersey Brunch. I came here for a friend's birthday and I knew what to expect. This place tries to be fancy with the valet, the decor, and the food, but fails on every level. First, they don't have a coat check. Really? Because last time I checked it's 50 degrees outside and you are a restaurant/lounge, correct?
We sat down at the group table and our server comes to take our order. We ordered the Punk Rock Shrimp & Calamari and the Tomato and Mozzarella Tower as appetizers to share. I ordered the lobster ravioli and my boyfriend ordered two specialty rolls. The food was a real disappointment. First they bring out the entrees before the appetizers. When we ask our server what happened to the appetizers, she has no idea. About 20 minutes down the road, we ask her again about the appetizers and she says the order was cancelled. I don't know who cancelled the order but it wasn't us. At this point, we decide to only order the Punk Rock Shrimp & Calamari. It finally comes out within five minutes. The shrimp/calamari was mediocre at best. I counted 4 shrimps and the rest were calamari. I guess there must be some type of shrimp shortage. My entrée, the lobster ravioli, was pretty bad. I think I've had better food at Applebees. The ravioli tasted as if it came straight out of the frozen food section at your local supermarket.  The sushi was the only thing that was good, but not great.
After we ate, that's when it becomes a lounge. The music became obnoxiously loud for the size of the place. My ears are still ringing from Sunday and it's now Friday. Oh, and not to mention, you don't even have any space around you because they cram all the tables in one small dining room to maximize profit.
Based on food and service, this place deserves no more than one star. But since I was there for a birthday celebration, and I did have a good time celebrating with the birthday girl, I'll give this place an extra star.
For my first time at Park East, Â I have to say I'm very disappointed mostly in Staff and some of the food that was served to me and my girlfriend.
First off, I attended a birthday party which seems to be the norm for Park East brunch on a sunday. It's very disappointing when you arrive and your told you cant bring in your camera (nikon d90) because the individual at the door feels that I am a professional photographer for the NFL. He says to me "we hired a professional photographer, you cant bring that in" What does that have to do with me and my cousin party?
Unfortunately, I was there for my cousin's celebration and wasn't going to let him ruin mine my afternoon. I could understand if it was at night time, and it was a club... bringing a camera like that in with you is a little much, but its 1:30pm in the afternoon and your technically a restaurant environment.
I must have had my 1000 mm Extra Zoom Lens with me that day. The guy was totally rude at the door, he was probably picked on most of his life when he was younger and once he got himself into a little bit of a power position he decide to turn people's cameras away. Great Career you found yourself.
The music was extremely loud, and for brunch it was over powering. They had a catch phrase across every tv which I thought was funny. "Social Sundays" I had to text my friends across the table because I couldnt understand what they're saying. I must have counted at least over 20 speakers across a medium size dining area. I had to put tissue paper in my ears or else I was going to be deaf. The other problem is, they cram you in like a can of sardines which is genius for the owner to increase profit
The waitress comes over and takes our order of roughly 12 people. She completely forgets to put in all the appetizers. She says they didnt make it. Or she forgot. No one knows at this point. I only ordered 3 rolls counting on the appetizers. So, I was pretty hungry after i finished the 3 rolls. At that point I ordered my appetizer again. It arrived with about 5 pieces of shrimp and the rest calamari. Calamari must be cheaper  on the market these days.
The giant cupcake we got was delicious and was probably the best highlight of the night. The company was called CupCake Wasted LLC. That was the only thing I really enjoyed.
I wont be back. Please be very careful when considering this place. If you just wanna get sloppy drunk, go deaf sooner, and dont care much about food. Then knock yourself out.
This is a restaurant/ bar/ club so it can satisfy  which ever atmosphere crave you may have. Their menu has a nice selection, offering some unique cocktails and sushi as well.  I had (and recommend) the Fleur de Nuvo  which is a martini served with an edible hibiscus flower floating in it.  Also, the Mac N' Cheese Fries  are great if you are a cheese lover.  French fries smothered in mac n' cheese sauce in a bowl sized portion.  And for the adventurous ones, like myself, the Strawberry Fields Sushi Roll is something to try.  Cheesecake and fish together?  As weird as it sounds, the combination of the crab, shrimp, fruits, cheesecake, and cucumber just works together.  This is one of the most original and favorite sushi rolls I have ever had.
So overall I was pleasantly surprised by this place and would eat there again.
This place Is very hit or miss
Drinks are pretty expensive giving the area
Food is usually pretty good to average
However are last experience may leave us not to dine here again or atleast for a while
We ordered 2 steak and 1 fish and 1 chicken entree
Both steaks were beyond over cooked and the Salem was RAW in the center
Needless to say we all eat at completely different times
The manager (who was a young guy looked to be early 20's max) was not very accommodating to our complaint , considering he took a lousy 10% off our check when 3 out of the 4 orders was messed up
Maybe we will go back when it switches owners for the millionth time , maybe sooner, maybe not at all
I went for my first time 2 nights ago with my husband and another couple. Â It was our first time there. Â The ambiance is pretty cool and unique. Â The food was great. Â The french onion soup was a nice appetizer. Â I had the Chilean sea bass and my hubby had the pork chop. Â We both really enjoyed our meals and felt the price was fair. Â Some people seem to have complained about the volume of the music, but it's not that bad. Â This is coming from someone who hates to go out to eat or try to hold a conversation when it's too loud. Â It was not too loud to talk casually at our table, and it was loud enough we couldn't hear discussion at the tables around us. Â We noticed they bring out these huge sparkler/ flare things in their desserts for birthdays. Â They look pretty cool, but they are probably a law suit waiting to happen. Â Don't wear too hair spray if you're going for your birthday. Â We will be back.
Review Source:I went here on a Thursday for dinner, which also happened to be LATIN night ( could be cool, they gave you a free glass of sangria and had specials on tapas).
Before I go on with my experience please note that I was just there for the food. I was craving their calamari and didn't think twice when I put on my jeans and comfy shoes and fat girl shirt ( you know, those flowy tops allowing one to stuff their face without worrying about looking preggo). I expected to have a yummy meal and listen to my friend rant about the new guy she is sleeping with... i did not expect to have to pay to park, or to get looks of disapproval by orange girls in cheap outfits for not wearing heels.. I can look past the crowd of people who try to hard.. but for a place that has two levels of partying available.. you would think that they would atleast close off the one section where dining is still available.
but no, that's where the dj was.. and that's where it was loudest.. and I feel bad for any server who has to work that night because how can anyone hear anything! It was such a bad dining experience! I couldn't hear my company... I had to shout and point at the menu so my server knew what I wanted.. and you can only hear a latin remix of rihanna songs for so long before you want to jump off a bridge.
please, management, consider moving the party to the upstairs until the kitchen is closed, or close the kitchen earlier!
This review is for the restaurant only.
I was actually impressed with the quality of the food at this restaurant/club. Â I had awesome appetizers and a lovely shrimp scampi pasta for dinner. My friends were equally impressed with their meals! I confess: love their sushi- very creative and fresh. Another confession: I was actually surprised by this. I know, shame on me for pre judging and assuming that this somewhat clubby place could have good raw fish!!
Eat this:
Mango Tango roll
Shrimp Scampi
Punk Rock Shrimp and Calamari
Steak Bite Napoleon
On a non-food note, if you are looking for good cocktails I'd look elsewhere. While I believe there are maybe two or three decent cocktail options on their menu, I don't think they are worth the risk of possibly (more like probably) choosing the wrong one! Wine and beer here- just to be safe ;-)
Lastly, try to hide your horror around 10:30pm when all the youngins show up in tight, polyester dresses ready to bust some dance moves....there's a loungish area upstairs which turns into a straight up Jersey Shore hangout. Â Nonetheless, do not let that scare you away. Â Food is great, promise!
We went here the other night for a friends birthday party.....they like the place ..... why I have no idea.....the place is loud, food arrived at the table cold, the people looked like they should be starring on Jersey Shore or some other retarded reality show, and the prices are five star while the service food and surroundings are a dud.......do yourself a favor if you want to spend your hard earned money don't go here there are so many other places in NJ with ambiance great service and lick your plate clean menus....if your looking to get an std from Snookie or JWOW then this is your place........
Review Source:I've been wanting to check out Park East for the longest time so last Friday, my girlfriends and I made a 7:00PM dinner date. The restaurant has a great location, right off of the Parkway and Route 35 South. It was easy to find. Upon arriving, I was required to use the Valet service (really?) because you risk being blocked in or something. Whatever.
When you walk through the entrance, the Bar/Lounge is located on the left side while the restaurant is on the right. The restaurant was nicely decorated, with black chandeliers, twinkling "icicle" lights, and tree twigs on the ceiling. There were a lot of tables and booths to accommodate lots of people. Our waiter was very friendly and immediately took our drink order. V ordered a "Passion" drink (I forgot the specific name), L ordered a glass of white wine, and I had a glass of the "Relax" Rieseling. (under $7). We ordered: The Route 35 Roll ($12 - Shrimp Tempura, Cucumber Inside Topped with Spicy Tuna, crunch, and Masago) the Mango Tango Roll  ($14 - White Tuna Tamura, Cucumber & Kani, Topped with Fresh Mango, Strawberry & Mango Sauce) a Tuna Lover Roll, ($14 - White Tuna Tempura, Spicy Tuna Inside, Topped With Tuna and Avocado) and a Philadelphia Roll. Though I was initially suffering from sticker shock, when we received our sushi, I was pleasantly surprised with the portions. The rolls were HUGE and not just filled with rice. The sushi was fresh and carefully prepared. We devoured all of our rolls and decided to order the "Ice cream sandwiches" dessert. One scoop of Vanilla, Chocolate, and Pistachio was placed in between two pieces of cinnamon-sugar brioche bread. Delicious! They were also playing some kind of "Secret Santa game" and an Elf guessed my first name, so I won a cute little "Christmas" themed hat. (*Note, if you you're not a Christmas person, I would avoid this place during Christmas time!) The "damage" ended up costing around $30 per person, drinks, sushi, and dessert, not too bad.
My fiancé and two of friends decided to come down here for a late dinner and early Christmas celebration. I joined them after my dinner with my girlfriends. Around 8:30PM the deejay began playing an AWESOME set of music from the 70's, 80's, and 90's. GOOD STUFF!!! It was getting a bit loud, but I guess they were trying to close down the restaurant. We were jamming and grooving while finishing our dessert. (Yes, I had a 2nd helping of dessert with another group of people!) We split a Banana/Strawberry dessert roll (I forgot the actual name). It was yummy!
Before leaving, I had to use the bathroom. I'm happy to report that it was clean and no wait. There were girls handing out towels and toiletries for tips, which is convenient, though unnecessary. I caught a glimpse of the Bar area and I wasn't too impressed. It smelled very bar like, there were tons of tvs, scantily-clad Santas, and a few Jersey Shore wannabes. No thanks!
Overall, I enjoyed this place and would totally return, especially during the summer! (:
Avoid this place at all costs. Â It was easily the worst dining experience I have ever had.
We had reservations for 5 for 8pm for my best friend's birthday. Â We arrived a few minutes early and told the hostess we actually had 6. Â No big deal, we would just have to wait a few extra minutes. Â Totally understandable, except that a few extra minutes turned into ONE HOUR AND FORTY-FIVE MINUTES. Â That is not an exaggeration. Â We watched as two or three groups of 6-8 people were seated before us after schmoozing with the hostess (who was a total bitch throughout the night). Â I wanted to leave but didn't want to force my friend after he had chosen this place as somewhere different to go out.
After finally being seated three of us ordered their "signature" burger which is supposed to come with fontina cheese, arugula, and caramelized shallots. Â Sounded good to me - except all of our burgers came out with wilted romaine lettuce, swiss cheese, and onions (not even f*cking caramelized). Â Seriously, you ran out of all three ingredients to your "signature" burger and the waiter didn't even tell us? Â The burgers themselves were just ok, but certainly not worth the $11 I thought I was spending for something a bit more upscale.
To detract even more from the meal, a DJ set up a booth IN THE DINING ROOM. Â Not only does this place have a bar in another room and a club upstairs, they felt the need to BLAST terrible music in their dining-only room during dinner so we couldn't even have a conversation.
This place, needless to say, will never be visited by myself or any of my friends again.
I wish I could give this place zero stars . Came all the way here from Manhattan for my best friend's birthday. We were with a group of 15+ girls, and my boyfriend was the only guy...this pretentious bouncer refused to let him in! I'm sorry, when it's more difficult to get into a trashy jersey shore spot than a semi-nice Manhattan joint, I have a problem. don't waste your time here...especially when they charge you $10 for supposed "VIP" parking where you are paying for the privilege of parking in their pothole infested parking lot . Actually slightly glad I didn't waste any of my money on what I'm sure would have been over-priced and watered down drinks.
Review Source:I brought 3 friends with me because the first time I went, the burgers were pretty good. Not true this time around. I ordered the "Signature" burger cooked medium (menu said with truffle oil mayo, arugula, fontina cheese and caramelized shallots). What I got was an overlooked burger with iceberg lettuce and sautéed onions and some mayo, not a whiff of truffle. I don't know if they thought I wouldn't know the difference or ran out of the key ingredients for their Signature burger, but it was really disappointing. The waiter apologized and the manager gave us a round of drinks on the house, so that was really nice, but I don't think we will go back any time soon. Valet parking is really annoying, by the way.
Review Source:I got an awesome $25 Living Social deal worth $50 for Park East and thought it was a perfect time to finally give this place a try. A few of my friends have frequented this place, mostly for the bar/lounge, but I also heard that they had good food. They have Valet (really? It's Hazlet, NJ but okay) and a big parking lot. Our reservations were for 8:30 PM on a Friday and when we arrived, I could already hear the DJ (on the bar/lounge side) screaming on a mike over the music. The place seemed to be crowded/packed already too, on both the restaurant and bar/lounge side. When we walked into the dining room, I was confused. It was loud as hell with the music blasting (diff music from the bar side) which also lead people to be screaming over each other, which is what I found my boyfriend and I doing all night. There are flat screen TVs all over the dining room giving it a sports bar look, but at the same time they have really nice lighting and décor in the place. Looking around at the crowd, you see everything - families, couples, young people, etc. They have both Japanese (Sushi mostly) and American fare here.
After a long work week, I was looking forward to having a nice dinner with my bf but wasn't expecting the atmosphere we ended up in. Our table was too close to the table next to us and behind us. The waiter kept hitting my elbow every time he would tend to the table next to us and I had several wait staff hit my chair and bag when they would pass behind. Our waiter was nice but because of how busy they were, he wasn't able to check up on us very much; our waters were never refilled. My bf and I were literally screaming at each other the entire night - that's how loud it was, so if you plan to dine here with the intention of having a nice quiet dinner, pick someplace else. The ambiance and décor of this place conflict with the crowds it draws in. I feel the place didn't know which direction to go in: Sports Bar, Family Restaurant, Loungy Club, Restaurant w/ Nice Ambiance.  Right now, it's all of that. Now onto the food..
We ordered the Punk Rock Shrimp & Calamari which came with Spicy Sweet Chipotle Sauce ($12), Seaweed Salad ($5), Route 18 Roll ($12) which was Eel, Shrimp, Crabmeat, Cucumber, and Smoked Salmon, Avocado, Squash Roe, wrapped in Soybean Nori Spicy Sauce, the Three Musketeers Roll ($15) which was Tempura Shrimp and Cucumber topped with Kani, Lobster Salad, Crunch and Tobiko, the 16 oz Angus New York Strip w/ a side of Garlic Mashed Potatoes ($27) and a glass of Red Sangria ($9) each. The Shrimp and Calamari were delicious. They were deep-fried and the sauce that went over them was deliciously sweet and spicy at the same time. The Seaweed Salad was a huge mound enough to feed 2 or 3 people, this was your typical Seaweed Salad so no complaints here. With the 2 rolls, they were just okay for me. I've had better Sushi elsewhere. They weren't wrapped tightly and kept falling apart before I could even get them in my mouth and the ingredients didn't taste very fresh to me. I tried my bf's strip steak, which he asked to be cooked medium and it was dry. The garlic mash didn't have much flavor either, I couldn't taste the garlic. The Sangria was refreshing and it was a huge wine glass for $9 so def worth it.
We didn't bother to stay and check out the bar/lounge after dinner. I'll probably return to check that out in the future. As for the food, I'll probably stay away from their Sushi next time since I wasn't impressed. I saw a lot of burgers coming out from the kitchen so if I do return, I'll get that.
This place tries to be fancy with the valet, the decor of the restaurant, the food on the menu. The restaurant had too many televisions on the walls that showed the world series. If they cut down the tvs maybe it could look nice and fancy. The decor and ambiance was nice and all but just too much. Maybe they should rethink about their decor and and stick to one theme. They should open the bar next door after a certain time because it totally ruins the mood of the restaurant. It's too loud in here!!! I couldn't figure out if I was in a club or a restaurant!.
The food was ok. Best thing was Punk Rock Shrimp and Calamari in spicy sweet chipotle sauce!! IF I was to come back to this place i would only order this! LOL. My steak was dry, the roasted garlic mashed potato sucked. No taste and dry. They charge you a dollar for extra dipping sauces. Wack! I tried their Horseradish sauce. It was ok can't really taste the horseradish. No kick to it! Had a glass of Red Wine Sangria that was good! Second best thing about this place lol.
Our waiter was ok, he was nice and all but wasnt really attentive. This place needs to shape up. Maybe less tables so not too crowded inside. If you wanna be fancy be fancy. I feel like their themes are mixed. I think Chef Robert Irvine needs to revamp this place Restaurant Impossible style!! I probably would not go back to this place or recommend this to any of my friends!
Sushi- Good
Music- Good
Varienty- Total
......
Staff- Half good.... all the parking, security, door, and support staff was great... the bartenders... SUCK.... went the martini bar... friend ordered some martinis... i waited (way to long) before the washed up guido behind the counter took an order.... when he did HE WAS SO F'N RUDE... Unattentetive and when i'm running up drinks on a tab and food he should  pay at least enough attention to refill the glass ... and hopefull he learned by getting my first below 20% tip. NUTS! I waited over 30 mins for a damn sushi roll! Worked ALL day all i wanted was some food... if the meat head fed me and made half an effort to check on my food he woulda got more drinks = happier= higher bill= more cash! I may be young, but i'm not some cheap kid who likes to play with mommy and daddies more... I have a proffessional job with real money (since this placed seemed to focus on "classy")....Anyway... we'll leave it there
I had a really fun time. Didn't have any issues with fights, security was nice, everyone seemed to be there for a fun time went on a thursday and there was a big crowd... If it wasn't for the slow service on the important things (food and drinks) it would have gotten another star.
OH and PS the $5 cover was actually $10... $3 to park... when you're charging that much on a thursday... get your Sh^! together! Good concept... really good music.... just needs better bar staff and kitchen times!
Will definetly be back, I'd actually like to sit down and eat as well... food I saw and the little i had was awesome! Wanna give this place another chance.... hopefull I can update up a star.
Went here for the first time on a Friday, we had reservations for 8pm. Â The hostess ignored us for about 5 minutes and then someone else came over and asked us if we had been helped. We then waited another 5 minutes to be seated while they tried to figure out some huge dilemma on their computer. They also had my reservation under the name 'Sammy Kern' instead of Mandi, even though I spelled my name for the person on the phone.
Once we were seated our attitudes shifted. Our waiter was a very young, energetic, helpful man. I was going to order a random cocktail off of their menu when he let me know that the tropical martini was on special for $5! Very good, but very strong. Caution: Sip Slowly.
Our table ordered burgers and sushi. My vegetarian sushi was very good, and tasted fresh. The others I was with ordered specialty sushi that was presented beautifully, and they said it was delicious. They had the soft&spice roll, and the east&west.
The only downside to our dining experience was that it took FOREVER to get our food.
Aside from the food and staff, the atmosphere was beautiful in the lounge area. We didn't really spend much time on the bar side, the DJ was horrible.
Lastly, the music on the lounge side was some smooth jazzy-type music, but it was SO loud that it was hard to have a conversation at our dinner table. Also the DVD of fireplaces was also a little much, since there is a real, beautiful one right in the lounge. So if you plan on watching any sports sit towards the bar front.
We will definitely go back though because the food was phenomenal.
Ok so this this place is jersey shore meets... jersey shore. Â Got bottle service here for a friends birthday and we were shown upstairs by Pauli D. we had a group of around 20 ppl and for this they gave us a 2 foot by 2 foot table and a love seat. Â at least it was a place to toss my jacket. Â Non the less the bottle service was inexpensive (only 100$ a bottle) and they gave us a free bottle of champagne for the seating they failed to provide.
The dance floor was pretty packed but not too tight that you cant move around all of the Jwoows and snookies.
This is a bar/restaurant that turns club after 11P. I went on a Friday for dinner first. The crowd is very mixed, 20 somethings all the way up to some 50+. The music was loud, although I love it loud!
Cons: Dinner was cold. I had the steak and potatoes. My friends had the wrap and a salad, both they enjoyed. Our waitress was attentive, but very busy so our drinks went dry. No one told us that at the late time we arrived that we should have chosen a booth so when they started clearing tables we were prepared. It was a mystery, but they were gracious enough to move us to a booth after we ate. The coat check filled up quickly and we weren't allowed to put our things in our valeted car, so someone had to stay with the bags/coats.
I would go again, but other than the ambiance, I am not that jazzed about the place.
I was really excited to come to this bar because every single weekend when i drive by it always looks like it has a nice crowd and i was told there are 2 bars and 2 floors! well...i dont know if it was sooooo obnoxiously crowded because there was a fight on that night but it took me 20 mins to get a beer so we actually ordered 2 at a time...i had drinks spilled on me all night and it was so jammm packed you couldnt move and people were pushing..how can you enjoy yourself like that? i might give it another shot but i was told this is a typical saturday night. Ohh and valet was insane the guys outside were yelling at each other and it was total chaos! There was an insane line waiting to go get your car...i walked up to the front and told them to give me my keys and i would find my car myself (they brought it up right away)
WARNING: dont wear good shoes!!
I went on a Saturday night. Overall, I liked the idea of the place. Half a sports bar, half a lounge - everyone's happy! The place looks nice, but it was pretty dead that night. The crowd that night was a little whoa (in a negative way). The music was good so I was disappointed to see the lack of people there. Maybe I just went on a bad night?
The sushi was average considering what the place was although they were a little on the expensive side - shrimp tempura roll & california roll = $14. We got a few beers at the bar that were relatively cheap.
I'll give this place one more chance since my friend had gone once before & had a lot of fun. Maybe I just hit it on a bad night?
My husband and I went there for the first time since it changed over.It used to be called THE STEAK EXCHANGE.The decor and vibe were great. We went on a Friday evening and they had a woman there making balloon corsages for the ladies and doing tricks for the men!We decided to order a burger and split it since we were going to make another stop later that night. We order the balsamic burger with mozzarella, pesto sauce and a balsamic reduction.Delish!!The roll was fresh baked! This burger was only $8!It was cooked to perfection and the fries were great too!The drinks were great and we are definitely going back. The music was great as well.
Review Source:Definitely one of my favorite new hangouts for dinner & drinks with friends. Â After many failed incarnation, this version has the right combination of entertainment for boys (big-screen TVs, sports-bar atmosphere) and ambiance for girls (huge fireplace, dim lighting, great cocktail menu). Â I hear they host great theme nights as well like Monday Poker and Game Day fests. Â I haven't been for the late-night clubbing yet, but I'm itching to go!
I think the food is fantastic; great sliders, freshest sushi and the pastas are delicious. Â The martini menu is very unique; try the one with Hibiscus, amazing. Â
The last outing wasn't great, but much of it had to do with this AWFUL waittress who broke every good server code in the book. Â But the restaurant indicated how disappointed they were with her, and I'm sure she's gone now. Also I'm a bit put off by the cache-inducing valet service, but we were able to park ourselves.
Great new local place to check out if you haven't been already!
