Red Oak Diner & Lounge

Not bad, but not great. Very good waiter. Burgers were largley unspectacular and on the small side for a diner burger. The buns were much bigger!!!  They do have a bar here if you are looking for that. As for me, it's not someplace I'd be running to go back to any time soon.

Ordered the pulled pork bbq sandwich -- roll wasn't fresh, pulled pork may have been OK a week ago when they cooked it but now it was dry after microwaving it, very little BBQ sauce.  Fries were good.  Free garlic knots were good.  The onion soup was passable.

I've been here about 20 times. I don't come here for the food and I don't come here for the service, but I come here simply because it's a diner that is open late, so it's a good spot to chill & chat with friends late at night over a dessert, or to fill a belly that grumbles at midnight. I used to come here often when I was in high school, after a football game, with the munchies after smoking, or just to fool around with friends. I grew up and graduated, am sober with my act together, and though I've tried full meals, wraps, sides, everything, holding a desire to appreciate the taste, nothing ever actually tastes GOOD. Whenever I'm in the mood for a certain dessert, they never have it that night. So again, in the area, there aren't places that stay open too late so it's just a place to hit up to sit down and talk and pick at food.
