This was well worth the time and money. Take some time and actually enjoy wine the way you'd normally be drinking it - with food. KJ's Partake is designed to show off some of Kendall-Jackson's wines which are of high quality, to contrast them with the wines that they produce in volume. We went with the flight that offered five pairings of wines and foods (appetizers, a small main course sampling, and dessert). The staff was knowledgeable, and made it a fun start with a blind taste test. I guessed the Chardonnay correctly. Glad it wasn't a Gewurtz. Probably designed that way to help us non-experts. The food was obviously prepared by someone with a good culinary prep background. We bought some of the late harvest Chardonnay, which was one of the flight wines. Reservations are done online. Be sure to make them a day early (or more if a busy season), as there are limited slots for the flights.

A dining experience! I had the good fortune of being served by Max and Earl. They were very knowledgeable about the food and wine and explained how the pairings brought out the flavor of the food.  The food was fantastic! Everything we tried was superb and the portions were just right allowing us to sample more food..and wine.  Compliments to the chef. If you are in Healdsburg, put this place night on your itinerary

We were greeted with a blind tasting and appetizer when we sat down, which was a fun way to start the meal. The bread and oils were fantastic - would have been great to have a gluten-free option for my wife! We enjoyed our beet tartare, which was a different way to eat a beet and a tartare. The duck dish was fantastic - the pate was creamy and the loin was perfectly cooked. The wine pairings were a fun way to play with the different menu options. We ended with the blueberry chocolate desert, which was divine. It is still a new restaurant and the food took a little while to come out, so it felt like they were still working out some of the kinks. All in all, a good experience at a reasonable price.

5 Stars: The food. Very well done, presentation was flawless.

3 Stars: The wine. KJ wines are fine, but nothing spectacular. They pale in comparison to the food.

Overall: 4 Stars - I would definitely return for the tasting experience. Our server was exceptional and we were treated very nicely.

Freshly made bread and olive oils made locally, delish cheese board and meats, and the wine why not stop here. We came in as we joined Kendall Jackson and so happy we did. Started w/ a blind tasting and the hub figured it out being a Pinot from Sonoma and 2010 -he was right. We continued w/ the cheese and meats and again nothing disappointing on that board.  Fun stop, great services, relaxing environment, and a good wine menu. Wish we had one in Denver.

I'm a local and not a big fan of corporate wineries, but I am in love with this place. The folks at Kendall Jackson have done an amazing job bringing a wine and food pairing experience to Healdsburg that is not only educational and delicious, but also done in a very tasteful manner in a beautiful setting with amazing service and decent portions for the prices. I love it how they've incorporated different wine ingredients into a lot of the different items on the menu and the fact that the menu had some creative takes on mainstream dishes like French fries and crab dip but also new thing I'd never tried before. This place is great for couples or groups and locals or tourists. Fresh and delicious. I think they'll succeed in the space that sadly has been occupied by different restauranteurs who were not willing to commit the time, energy and passion to make this space work. KJ's doing that.

The place isn't that busy yet, and I believe that's because everyone walks by and thinks it's just another winery tasting room. I think they need to change the sign out front and promote the place as more of a small plates and wine pairings place. It's not a restaurant, but it's definitely not just a KJ tasting room.

What a great idea.  This is not just a tasting, but a whole, fine meal, paired with excellent wines.

Great find to stumble upon. Thought we wanted a lunch break from wine tasting but ended up with some small bites with wine pairings that was a great experience. We didn't do the chef's tasting - just pick some things that sounded good threw in a few tasting glasses of wine and really enjoyed our experience. 1) Challah with apple butter and prosciutto, 2) the Pork Buns, 3) the fresh mozzarella with asparagus, olives, and lemon olive oil, 4) the red wine fries with cabernet ketchup, and 5) the waygu beef sliders...all good choices...pork buns being my favorite.

This is a fantastic concept which is perfect for someone who likes to sample wine and had a structured food selection for pairing. BTW, KJ stands for Kendall Jackson.

I was excited to see this beautiful space just off Healdsburg Plaza. For the wines, you can choose a taste (approximately $2 or $3), a glass (generally $5) or a bottle (prices vary). With each type of wine, the menu has 3 food items that will pair nicely with the wine. Perfect. If you like Chardonnays you can get X food items. If your date likes Merlos, she can get Y food items. They even has a trio of dessert wines with dessert foods! Boys and girls, this would be the perfect date destination for those of you who don't have a clue which food would pair well with wine.

I'm looking forward to my next trip to Healdsburg to sample wines and explore the menu at Partake by K-J.

My husband and I stumbled across this place after partaking in a few tastings in Sonoma.  We were looking for something that was yummy, yet light.  This place was so much fun and so delicious, we definitely will be back again!

First off, the staff was fantastic - very welcoming and friendly.  They were formal and provided service that impeccible; however, they didn't seem rigid and/or pompous (which I find obnoxious when we're out at a nice restaurant).

To start the waitress brought out a sampling of wine in a black glass - it was a fun little game for us to guess what type of wine it was without seeing it and just by tasting/smelling it.  They also brought out a free amuse bouche to pair with the wine, which was also very yummy.  Thought this was very fun - and definitely unexpected.

Next, the food.  If we hadn't already been to 3-4 wineries before heading here, my husband and I would have probably done the chefs tasting menu, which sounded very good.  However, instead we were just interested in hand picking the food options that sounded the best to us, and choosing a couple of wines to taste along with our meal.

We opted for the following: 1) Challah with apple butter and prosciutto, 2) the Pork Buns, 3) the fresh mozzarella with asparagus, olives, and lemon olive oil, 4) the red wine fries with cabernet ketchup, and 5) the waygu beef sliders.  We probably could have done with one less appetizer; however, I'm glad we didn't, because of of the options were very yummy.  Our favorite was the pork buns - outstanding.  My next favorite was the fresh mozzarella with asparagus and olives - I wish we had ordered a second ;)  If we had to leave one option out, I would say we both could have done without the fries; they were okay, but not oustanding.

Also, when we received the check, we were pleased to find that they also provide you with complimentary peanut brittle that is made using their olive oil.  A plesant way to round off a great meal.

Overall, our experience was very good, and we most definitely will be back.

I am torn between a 3 or possibly a 4. Well I must say the wine was amazing and so was the food so that would be my 4 but the timing of the two need a bit of help. We had the carrots (sooooooooo awesome), beet salad (healthy) tempura mushrooms (yum) wine fries (yummy) sliders ( wayyyyyyy good) and the sticky buns (ehhhh). I'd suggest to make sure wine tastes and bites come out within moments apart...wine first, bites second or together. You'd be in conversation then something else was arriving and they were all coming at different times. Decor is good and we had a seat by the window which was nice. I'd go again once things are on track! I did love the black wine glasses with the blind taste at the start- cool little surprise!

I just tried Partake by Kendall Jackson this weekend for the first time, and I loved it! You have the option to order your favorite type of wine(s) and pair the chef recommended "bite" with it (which includes liberty duck trio, oysters, etc), or do one of their prix fixe courses. We went with the Chef's Pairing, and were not disappointed! Some of the pairings were the best thing I can remember eating in a long time. The crab cake panna cotta paired with Chardonnay, the spicy carrots with riseling, and the duck (particularly the roasted duck) with the Merlot were definitely my favorites, and I have been dreaming of them since I left! I am very excited to go back soon to try some of the other items and excited to see how thee menu changes with the seasons!
The staff too were awesome, friendly and helpful but not intrusive.

I love this place! The food was excellent! I was taken care of by a beautiful young woman name Jessica. Her knowledge of the wine and food was perfect. You can go to a place with great food but if service is rotten you never go back. Partake has it all. I suggest you go and ask for Jessica her service will make the experience!

My wife and I drove from napa for a little date night action. One of our favorite restaurants in napa is Zuzu. They specialize in tapas and wine pairings, excellent execution in the kitchen and a great selection of wines by the glass. So anyway  Partake had big shoes to fill!  I'll cut to the chase. We had a great time! The service was warm and informative, June really laid out the menu and offered some great advice on food pairings and explained the wines composition and appellations in a laid back digestible way.  The manager Erica was polished and professional and checked in at the right times. The other staff seemed to help each other out at the right times as well, really seamless service.  We got to meet the chef Justin who came out to the dining room later in the night. O.k here's the lowdown on the food, beet carpaccio was phenomenal, rabbit sausage was killer,  crab artichoke in the skillet was great! The cab. Fries were good but I'd recommend an aioli. The wines were solid, don t let the KJ banner fool you, these are their small batch single vineyard wines, I won't bore you with my pallet, but the chef knocked it out of the park on pairings. We will becoming back regularly. Thanks,  R &G

Partake is a new wine tasting room off the Healdsburg Square pairing Kendall Jackson wines with small bites. Tried what they consider the top flight, the Chef's Tasting at $45. Other options are available at $35 and $25 respectively. The room was well laid out and pleasant. Had the feel of a sit down restaurant, but suggest not going there in place of lunch or dinner. You will go away hungry.

Short of the environment, the overall experience was disappointing. Service was incredibly slow if not confused. The wine was relatively low quality, something you could pickup at any grocery store. Small bites were all over the map in terms of quality, from bland to pretty good. Tasting rooms can be relaxed, they want you to try wine with the goal of buying some to take home. Some even want you to join their wine club. This type of room is focused on order, drink, nibble, pay and leave. Little effort is made to sell the product that is seemingly their focus.

Healdsburg Square has so many incredible restaurants and tasting rooms, suggest visiting elsewhere. Partake is just disappointing. Expected a first class experience from Kendall Jackson, went away with the opposite impression.

Partake is really a hybrid wine tasting room for Kendall Jackson as well as a tapas joint.  You can make dinner out of your selections, as we did, and while a bit pricey I thought we got what we paid for.  Everything was good and the rabbit sausage was not to be missed.  Our server Andre took great care of us.  While not a fan of Kendall Jackson wines, I found the optional wine pairings that went with the flavorful dishes a great complement to the food.  If you are a wine bar junkie and would like some food with your tastings, then check it out.

I went here last night by recommendation from my wine clubs, Papapietro Perry & J. I was so impressed! First off want to mention the excellent service by June at the bar, and was also helped out by Jessica and Ericka- the assistant manager. Food was delicious, and both June and Jessica were extremely knowledgable about all the food and wine. Love that everything is farm to table, even the pressed grapes from the vineyard are in the olive oil they serve with Chardonnay bread and Syrah bread. Had the Wagyu beef sliders, Carrot dish, & a yummy cheese dish. Enjoyed the Camelot Chardonnay and the Black Glass concept is awesome! Thanks ladies for a wonderful night!

My husband and I had dinner at Partake last Thursday. It was one of the best meals we've ever had! It was so fun to do the wine & food pairings. We had a 730pm reservation. It was more like a tapas meal with the small plates to share. The menu is a little confusing, but the waiter explained everything to us and made great recommendations. The wine, food, wait staff, decor, and atmosphere were wonderful!! We met Serena, the chef who was also great and accommodating! I would hightly recommend Partake for a dinner in Healdsburg. You will not be disappointed!!

So we were told to try out this new place that did food and wine pairings. Not only did we receive superior service but the food and wines were incredible. The head chef Justin came out and spoke with us several times and explained how the food paired with the wines. It was intriguing to taste a particular food item with different wines and see how it changed or worked with the food.

The foods, by themselves, we're excellent as well as being very creative.  I was surprised by the wines too.  Kendall Jackson is a fine brand but I never considered them to have outstanding wines. Just kind of a basic, go to wine. However, what they offer at Partake is their small batch wines that are exceptional.

I would definitely recommend Partake to anyone.

We were enthralled with this place from start to finish. The chef, Justin Wanger, met us at the door, comped us an appetizer and set us up for a mystery wine tasting.  We came back at dinner time and selected the chef's tasting for dinner.  They adjusted one of the pairings to accommodate our preferences.  The pairings were so delicious and beautifully crafted. We enjoyed the whole experience.

My BEST wine experience ever and I have visited many wineries (50+) in and out of the US!!!  The food pairing is unbelievable with a huge spectrum of wine and food.   The service is amazing with with complimentary wine and food pairing before ordering from a great Menu.  THE  CHEF is super, and if time allows, comes out and explains food selection and makes you welcome...  The servers are also amazing with in depth training about the KJ wines and food.  Super-duper place!!!

EXCELLENT!!! I am in Sonoma County for work and stumbled into this place for lunch. I had the Chef's Tasting ($45) which featured five dishes and five wine tastings:

    1. Grand Reserve Sauvignon Blanc with Oysters, White Verjus, Pickled Cucumber
    2. Highland Estates Camelot Highlands Chardonnay with Green Garlic Panna Cotta, Dungeness Crab, Estate Meyer Lemon Oil
    3. Grand Reserve Merlot with WholeVine Tempura Maitake Mushroom
    4. Highland Estates Trace Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon with Smoked Loin of Lamb, Heirloom Beans, Spring Vegetables, Beet and Pomegrante Relish
    5. Grand Reserve Late Harvest Riesling with White Chocolate Mousse, Meyer Lemon Curd, Cocunut Shortbread, Lime Meringue

The "restaurant" has been open for three weeks and the staff (Jessica, my waitress) are very knowledgable on the wines and their respective food pairings. The chefs bring the food to your table and explain all the layers on your food pairing.

    I WILL BE BACK!!!!

New wine bar just opened in downtown Healdsburg.  Of course the KJ wine was great as always. We paired the wine with small bites and desserts. The desserts were to die for - the chef is amazing. Great setting and service.

We walked in on a Tuesday at 3 PM. We choose to sit at the bar as was it was more inviting and a perfect setting for a wine and food parring. First, the staff was personable and enthusiastic, and answered our menu questions with great details. We went with several recommendations and few of our personal choices.

WOW, great food!  You will not be disappointed.

We went for the oysters, the crab and artichoke dip, the sticky buns and the sliders. Each small plate appeared to have to full attention of the kitchen staff!  The presentation was wonderful and the taste the each delightful.

The oysters came in a bed of rock salt and red peppercorn. The crab and artichoke dip was presented in a small bowl, with several choices of freshly baked artisan breads. The sticky bun was made from a red wine infused dough and will not disappoint.  Finally, the sliders were just a perfect finish, and much more filling than one would expect.

Overall, the food was fabulous, the service attentive, making this a great addition to Healdsburg restaurant scene. Definitely going back.....

Note: Expect your bill to be similar to Willi's or something similar where food is served in small plates. Also, we did not comment on the wine as you have various choices with each food parring.  Finally, Chef Justin is very personable and quite creative.
