Went here with a colleague for lunch and had the brisket bunt ends with beans and fries. The meat was excellent with a lot of smokey flavor infused in it and was nicely done without being chewy. I don't recollect what my colleague had but what I remember is that he had a small mishap and spilled soda pop all over me and my food. Our server was good enough to replace my dish without my asking even though I was 70% done with it which was a very nice touch and spoke volumes about how this place approaches its patrons.
Overall a very nice experience which I would repeat more often if only it was close to my office.
Well, I am mixed about this place. It is a good place. You should come here and try some Q.
I ordered burnt ends platter with green beans and potato salad.
The sides were okay... canned green beans simmered with smoked ham, and a mustard based potato salad that was good enough to where I could not tell if it was homemade or store bought. The toast was delicious.
The burnt ends were actually ends... which is better than the 90% of places that call "cubed brisket" burnt ends. Ends are the Holy Grail of Q for a reason... there are only so many end pieces and they are not easy to make. They dry out easily. These were dry. Too dry. A little dry is okay... it is the end after all. They also lacked a little seasoning in my opinion.
I will come back here to try the ribs at some point soon. Bravo for serving real burnt ends. Get a few details right and this place would get an extra star.
