Went to a gay country western dance that featured country western partner and line dancing and other dances by request such as west coast swing, cha cha, polka, hustle, etc...This place welcomes everyone, gay and straight and I felt very comfortable going and dancing. Â You wear name tags that state if you are a leader, follower or can do both. Â Thought that was a great idea. Â Wished they did that at the straight dances, because there are women who lead and men who like to follow. Â
Around 30 dancers, mostly beginner level, with a beginner country two step dance class at 7pm and the dance is 7:30-10:30pm. Â The dancers are all very welcoming, friendly and dance with everyone, which I find very nice, being from out of town and not knowing anyone.
The venue is a converted space turned dance studio over a garage, the dance floor is amazing, fast floor with a downstairs where you can help yourself to free snacks and drinks. Â Parking is in a private lot below the dance studio. Â The air flow was good, not too hot. Â The charming bathroom is located next door in the main house, but not too far.
Dances are the 3rd Friday of the month. Â $10 for the lesson and dance. Â Pat the owner and dance instructor is very social and makes sure everyone is having a great time and gets to dance.
