This is a hidden gem. Great atmosphere and the people who work here are very pleasant. Â But the best things are the food and great prices. Â Every dinner item is homemade to order, not like the chains. Â They have excellent fish and tips and their pizza is wonderful. Â Give this place a try and you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Review Source:Honestly, this is the ultimate townie Irish bar, and I have never thought of my hometown as townie-ish, but now that I've grown, I see that it probably is in some sense.
As an outsider coming in, you'd probably hate it. Â It's dark, there's always a couple drunk guys at the bar (at any time of day), the food is hit or miss and some of the servers aren't the friendliest.
But the pizza is good (most of the time), the fries are great, the prices are unbeatable, the drinks are strong, again, the prices are unbeatable, the bartenders are friendly, and there's now even an internet jukebox for your listening pleasure.
A couple FYI's -- they only serve pizza on the weekends during the day; full menu at night. Â Also, it is "bar" pizza (thin, crispy, single-serving size), which sadly, does not exist in New York, though I still haven't given up the hunt...
