My boyfriend lives in Quincy and Friday night is our "pizza night." Â We usually try a new place every week. Â I thought we had exhausted all of our options as I was perusing Yelp last night on my way home, but then I spotted Alumni and Rags. Â I tried calling Alumni probably 5 or 6 times but no one picked up and it went to voicemail. Â So, I called Rag's and ordered 2 pizzas- cheese and 1/2 cheese half pepperoni. Â I wasn't expecting much. Â We have tried Fowler House and Granite Rail for other local pub pizzas and although those were good, they weren't particularly amazing. Â Well, Rag's was! Â I seriously think it may have been the best pizza I have ever had. I grew up in Walpole and frequented Town Spa and Red Wing as local favorite pizza places, but this pizza last night was better. Â Blew Town Spa away. Â De-Lish-ous! Â Chewy flavorful thinner crust, perfect amount of sauce which had a nice rich flavor, and cheese melted enough to give, but not leave you with enormous strings of cheese hanging from your face. Â I would say it was very similar to the Red Wing (old school Red Wing- haven't been there since it changed hands). Â Only $14 for two pizzas, you can't beat it! Â I ate my whole pizza in about 4-6 minutes. Â So good. Â I will be back next Friday :o)
Review Source:We have driven by this place forever but never went in before.
We guessed walking in there would be three propped up cadavers on the stools, and that would be it, but no, there was quite a crowd in there.  It is also bigger than we thought.
Big time "regulars" sort of place.  I would say that we were the only non regulars there.
Certainly not trying to go upscale like Cagney's, that is for sure.
The music was a little too loud.
The dog chewing his bone was different.
  Chicago Honkers on draft.
