Quencher Tavern

Treked here on Sat of the great blizzard of 2013! Had to get out of the house for some brews and this is where I ended up.

If you open the textbook on Southie dive bars you would see Quencher's.  Cash only, dimly lit and smelly bathrooms...Honestly this is a fun place to hang out, play the juke box, Keno and pound drinks. They do serve food but I only managed to get some crinkle cut fries to help the beers go down.

I also love the bartenders. The crotchety lady kept correcting me when I would order a Molson Canadian. I would order by just saying "I'll have a Canadian", and she would respond with "You want a Molson!?!" She must have corrected me six times at least. The male bartender was styling with his shorts, ankle socks and golf shirt.

I will be back.

I walked in here for the first time in my 34 years a couple of weeks ago. I went to elementary school one block away, and I played on youth hockey teams sponsored by this place. It's a typical old school tavern, cleaned up a little for the newer residents in the area.

Perfect example of an awesome Boston dive bar!

But seriously, this place is awesome.
