I just wanted to follow up on my Lucky's review. The chef from Lucky's did reach out to me and offered me another visit, on him. This was nice and shows that they are paying attention and want to make experiences better. However, I don't think I will be going back to eat at Lucky's as the last time I stopped in for a drink the entire restaurant and lounge smelled like the restroom.
Review Source:I love Lucky's - 90% of the time.
As I work right around the corner, Lucky's has worked itself into my lunchtime rotation. Everything I've had for lunch has been great - the chopstick chicken salad, wings, buffalo mac and cheese, pulled pork sandwich, etc. The clam chowder is probably the best clam chowder I've ever had. It has some sort of spice thing going on (it's not pure white like most chowder) and it's topped with fried clam strips. Yes please. Â Another must try: sweet potato fries. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, they make a great anytime snack (especially while drinking).
I've also been here late night. Dark, loud and boozy. Enough said.
So why knock off a star / 10%? Brunch. I came with a friend around 10:30 on a Saturday morning. The place was dead. I ordered an omelette and it was essentially a thin layer of egg draped over a blob of filling. It was cold and not well incorporated. Maybe it wasn't great because it wasn't peak hours? I'm not sure. I'll give it another shot at some point, but based on the lunch food I've had there, I was pretty disappointed.
