Don't go here!!!! I walked in for the first time on a Thursday night with my friend and our gf's and were immediately confronted very rudely by "the manager/owner" who asked if "we had had a few drinks tonight???" Considering there were probably 4 people in this place at the time I was totally taken aback that this person was turning people away because we were simply smiling and in a good mood.....that is until this jerk decided to judge people 5 seconds after they walked into his joke of a bar. I would never go here under any circumstances and if you don't want to be harassed and judged before you sit down I suggest you don't as well.
Review Source:We were SO pleased we decided to stop into Battery Park Bar and Lounge and even considered going back during our very short stay.
Hubby and I decided to take our eatery to the next level - in Boston, MA. Â Unfortunately, the first day we arrived it was cold and rainy, and we needed a place to watch some of the sporting events.
Through some yelping, Hubby found Battery Park as a short walk from our hotel. Â Deciding to brave the elements, we traveled forth to what happened to be a really fun night.
When we arrived (around 8 PM on a Saturday), the place was full, though not packed. Â The Bruins were playing, so every table was filled, but the host assured us that we would be seated quickly. Â Meanwhile, we ordered a round at the bar and waited about five minutes until we had a great booth with a front row seat to TVs! Â While we originally anticipated going to Battery Park for just a couple of drinks, we decided to stay and ordered a few of their appetizers. Â We got the buffalo chicken rangoons, buffalo chicken wings, clam chowder, and to top it off, the cookie dough pie.
O-M-G. Â I never thought a sports bar / lounge could deliver as well as they did in terms of food AND service. Â We were treated well by all the wait-staff + host, who consistently brought us clean plates and cutlery. Â The food, amazing. Â If you ever go, you MUST get the buffalo chicken rangoons AND the clam chowder. Â We were in Boston a few days, but this was the best chowder I had the entire time in the city (and I had a lot). Â The cookie dough pie is baked skillet perfection complete with ice cream on top that melts in your mouth. Â We finished everything, and we did not feel guilty about it.
In the middle of all this enjoyment, Hubby's phone (and second love of his life behind me) died. Â No fear, PJ the wonderful host came to the rescue and supplied a charger to get him back to life and onto his ESPN app again.
Overall, we had such an awesome time at Battery Park and would have loved to have gone back. Â I am sure we will be back if ever in Boston. Â Really liked this place!!
