Don't go here!!!! I walked in for the first time on a Thursday night with my friend and our gf's and were immediately confronted very rudely by "the manager/owner" who asked if "we had had a few drinks tonight???" Considering there were probably 4 people in this place at the time I was totally taken aback that this person was turning people away because we were simply smiling and in a good mood.....that is until this jerk decided to judge people 5 seconds after they walked into his joke of a bar. I would never go here under any circumstances and if you don't want to be harassed and judged before you sit down I suggest you don't as well.
Review Source:We were SO pleased we decided to stop into Battery Park Bar and Lounge and even considered going back during our very short stay.
Hubby and I decided to take our eatery to the next level - in Boston, MA. Â Unfortunately, the first day we arrived it was cold and rainy, and we needed a place to watch some of the sporting events.
Through some yelping, Hubby found Battery Park as a short walk from our hotel. Â Deciding to brave the elements, we traveled forth to what happened to be a really fun night.
When we arrived (around 8 PM on a Saturday), the place was full, though not packed. Â The Bruins were playing, so every table was filled, but the host assured us that we would be seated quickly. Â Meanwhile, we ordered a round at the bar and waited about five minutes until we had a great booth with a front row seat to TVs! Â While we originally anticipated going to Battery Park for just a couple of drinks, we decided to stay and ordered a few of their appetizers. Â We got the buffalo chicken rangoons, buffalo chicken wings, clam chowder, and to top it off, the cookie dough pie.
O-M-G. Â I never thought a sports bar / lounge could deliver as well as they did in terms of food AND service. Â We were treated well by all the wait-staff + host, who consistently brought us clean plates and cutlery. Â The food, amazing. Â If you ever go, you MUST get the buffalo chicken rangoons AND the clam chowder. Â We were in Boston a few days, but this was the best chowder I had the entire time in the city (and I had a lot). Â The cookie dough pie is baked skillet perfection complete with ice cream on top that melts in your mouth. Â We finished everything, and we did not feel guilty about it.
In the middle of all this enjoyment, Hubby's phone (and second love of his life behind me) died. Â No fear, PJ the wonderful host came to the rescue and supplied a charger to get him back to life and onto his ESPN app again.
Overall, we had such an awesome time at Battery Park and would have loved to have gone back. Â I am sure we will be back if ever in Boston. Â Really liked this place!!
This place is just your typical burgers and beer joint. I am not a fan of greasy American food, so this review will be a bit biased.
I had the Philly Steak burger on the recommendation of the waiter. It was definitely a solid burger, but I had to stop eating it halfway through because my arteries needed a break. The other people in my party enjoyed their food, but it was nothing extremely memorable.
To sum it up: good, but not memorable. Stop by if you're a fan of greasy American fare.
I've really come to enjoy this place for post-work drinks in the downtown area. It's a nice open space with plenty of tables/bar seats and it's never too crowded. The drinks are generously poured and the bartenders are very helpful in finding the right one if you want something different.
My recommendations:
Casual/relaxed night: Mojito
Party night: Sidecar
Food was passable but boy were the hostesses rude. My 7-8 months pregnant coworker asked for a booth away from the door for our party of three (it was wintertime) and we were told absolutely not, the booths fit four and we were only three. Well, we were there from 12-1 and they failed to seat a single party in those booths.
The bad experiences with financial district hostesses continues at BP.
I'm sorry but the appetizers here are absolutely disappointing for the price of $9-11 each. Portions are generous, but who wants that when the food is mediocre?
The service is definitely good though. My group was unsatisfied with the hummus dip (lemon flavor was way too strong), so our server offered to replace it with a spinach/artichoke dip and gave us a whole new plate of pita chips along with it. But again, unimpressed.
Drinks are pretty strong and decently priced for a spot in the Financial District.
Just got home from Battery Park Bar and Lounge. Â It is a decent bar with decent food. Â Can't really say much more about it.
I had:
ONION RINGS - which were interesting because they put season salt on them
CAESAR SALAD - eh
POTATO SKINS - I've had better at TGIFriday's
It is a sports bar that charges way too much for the type of food they have, which I have found is quite typical of Boston. Â I probably will never go back. Â Battery Park Bar and Lounge isn't bad--but it isn't good either. Â Save some money and watch the game at home.
Decent after-work watering hole with the usual selection of beers plus a small handful of craft brews. Â The staff are indeed great - friendly, professional and timely. Â I just wasn't much of a fan of the food as it was average at best even by bar fare standards. Â The nachos came generously portioned albeit lukewarm as my friend noted after his first bite. Â Would've been nice too to have some sort of topping included as any meat or chili tacks on another $4. Â My friends said their burgers were fine and I'd say the same about my chili, a bit runnier and sweeter than I prefer.
It was worth making the walk out to give BP a try, but I'll stick to Jake's right around the corner or maybe even trek out to Yard House for much better food deals and a far more expansive beer selection.
We worked with Battery Park for two of our wedding events as we had guests staying at the nearby hotels, and they were amazing for both events. Of all of the catered events we had planned for our wedding BP was easily the easiest to work with and we were planning it from the west coast.
We initially planned A pre-wedding open bar / hors d'oeuvres prior to the wedding, but also decided to host our post wedding farewell brunch here after seeing how easy and accommodating the staff was to work with. We were planning over the course of a year during which they hired a new events planning director, both were great to work with and the new director didn't miss a beat.
For our pre wedding drinks they allowed us to reserve an area in the newly built patio. Costs were quite reasonable, and they were quite flexible as to us letting us start with a limited open tab which we could choose to add to if we hit the limit too early in the night.
They made the post wedding brunch a breeze for us, again offering reasonable prices, and a really decent buffet and drinks selection.
If you are hosting an event in the area we would definitely recommend dropping in or giving them a call to see what they have to offer.
A very fun spot to stop for drink and dinner after work ... Very convenient location between water front and financial district ...
Lobster Mac n cheese is good ... The lobster was cooked perfectly and so succulent and delicious and the cheese sauce it was swimming in tastes like gouda ... delish ... ..This dish has the potential of being "Boston's best" lobster Mac n cheese ... The crouton topping was of by far the most flavorful bread crumb topping I have had on the classic Mac n cheese !!
Greg the owner is attentive and so friendly ...
definitely a great place for after work drinks ... dinner ...
Decent food and modest beer menu delivered...eventually.
Pros: Nice location and decor
Cons: Â Slow service even at low capacity; highly variable food quality; inaccurate order fulfillment
I've come here for lunch a few times, hoping that the negatives experienced were due to chance. However, the service was consistently ineffective and higher priority is given to people ordering takeout versus customers dining in, so the waiting times can be too long for a timely lunch visit. The kitchen tends to overcook items, perhaps due to disorganization and timing.
Their beer menu is average and they have a few decent craft beer selections. Their liquor bar is more extensive and this place may be more geared towards meeting for an after work drink before heading to a restaurant for dinner.
They will most likely mix up some aspect of your order, so it helps to confirm your order with the server and then once it arrives, immediately verify it before the server goes away.
Stay for a drink but skip the food altogether.
I've only been to Battery Park once, on an a-typical Saturday night, so my review will be based on that once experience.
Food- I tried some appetizers that were set up for a private party. Buffalo chicken rangoons = Delicious!
Alcohol- Great selections. Lots of different beers and liquors.
Atmosphere- Really cool set up. Main room is large enough for several people to be in there without being in the way of each other. Lots of tvs, so I was able to watch the game while inside. I also dig the patio area and the separate bar outside. It was a hot night when I went, so it was nice to be outside. The bathrooms are also clean, which is a plus.
Service- Bartenders are very friendly. My friend and I were waiting for a drink when the bartender looked over and she apologized for forgetting us for a minute and gave us a free round.
Music- Great DJ, even if he was DJing a private party, so it was a little different than what usually is going on. DJ T-Rex, if you're looking for a good DJ for an event, by the way.
This place was cool. I'll totally go back again.
I know it isn't their fault that the day of our lunchtime visit was one of the first nice days after several gloomy/rainy days, and it was a Friday to boot. Â They may have also been extra busy because a Groupon was expiring soon.
But after we had the chance to sit down and mull over our choices, it was a while before anyone came over to take our order. Â Then, after we placed our order, I realized that we were never asked what we wanted on the side of the sandwich. Â After a bit, I was able to wave down our waitress. Â Turns out she entered our order with regular fries on the side. Â But I wanted sweet potato fries. Â She commented that the kitchen was slammed, so she'll enter the sweet potato fries later, separately.
The food took quite a while... it seems that their kitchen isn't really able to handle a full restaurant during the lunch rush, as many parties that were seated before us still hadn't received their food by the time we received our sweet potato fries.. which were nearly completely consumed before the rest of our order finally arrived all at once.
The Philly Cheese Steak Eggrolls $8.99 arrived hot and as good as ever. Â The Caesar Salad at $8.99 was pricey for the portion, and some leaves were undressed, but it tasted fine. Â The California Chicken Sandwich - Seasoned chicken, Bermuda onion, melted Monterey jack cheese, fresh avocado, and a tangy honey mustard sauce on toasted wheat $10.99 was okay, but the chicken was a bit dry and the sandwich was sliced in clearly uneven halves which was inconvenient for splitting.
Getting the bill also took a bit of patience, which during a work day lunch, is not ideal.
I love trying new American grill/pub places, so when I saw a Groupon for Battery Park, I had to try it out. Nothing to really write home about. Standard pub fare. I ordered the fish and chips, which were pretty yummy with a light batter that was crispy and well seasoned. My bf got the lobster mac, which was runny and soupy. Definitely the worst lobster mac we've ever tried, but at least the crispy bread topping was nice.
The baked cookie dough pie was a monster of yum. Even sharing it, we almost didn't finish it. Definitely the highlight of the meal.
The greeter was a little off-putting, but our waitress was very nice, and suggested that cookie dough pie, so she's A-OK in my book.
Place was pretty loud, since we were there for trivia night. May not have a reason to come back again, but I'd definitely suggest to friends looking for downtown dinner.
O rude bartendress,
What crawled up your butt today?
Just want food and drinks
Buffalo Rangoons
You are just so delicious
You make my heart sing
Marble-filled bathrooms
You are a thing of beauty
Make peeing a joy
Rest of the food - lame
Some nachos had zero cheese
Tuna was pink/gray
I had a Groupon
Bar was solid overall
I'll likely return
Bottom line: Decent bar food at a reasonable price. Â Ideal location in the summer for some drinks and apps after work before you depart for more savory dinner venues.
Came here on a Groupon after work to try the food and test the location. Â It is a little dark inside but is nicely decorated. Â Very loud, so much so that I had to shout to carry on a conversation, but free sample drinks that night was definitely a plus.
I ordered a chicken sandwich and my mate got the steak tips. Â Both were cooked well and fit into the "bar food" scene, but I was more interested in the nachos that someone a table over ordered.
Enough selection when it comes to drinks and televisions to make this an after-work hangout. Â Would go here for apps and a beer instead of a meal for sure.
They have a patio. Â Great for the summer. Â I'll be back.
Probably the best classic bar food in PO Square. I came here for lunch with a coworker and they said there was a wait so we managed to grab the last 2 seats at the bar. This place typically gets packed during lunch.
I ordered the California Chicken Sandwich and ordered the side of sweet potato fries. The chicken was grilled and the honey mustard and avocado combination was great. I also really like the sweet potato fries.
During the summer they also converted an alley at the rear of their building to a cool outdoor patio.
I came here on a groupon. Two actually. I bought it because I work in the area and I thought I would give it a try.
I'm really happy I did.
The first time we went it was the week of Valentine's day. We went on a very quiet night--I think it was a Wednesday. The hostess and waitress were both very nice and attentive. We ordered 3 beers--none of which I really liked, but my boyfriend was fine with all three.
We tried a calamari app, it was good. A decent portion for price. Â
He got a bacon & mushroom burger--it was huge, and very delicious, with fresh toppings. I got the haddock stuffed with lobster meat with pilaf and veggies. The whole dish was great. We were stuffed and took half of each of our entree home.
The second time we went was this past weekend. They surpassed themselves. After the first night we thought the place was fine, but after our second visit we both agreed that it was worthy of another visit without a groupon. =p
We got the philly steak egg rolls---------so good!!!!
We got the haddock again, this time it was MUCH MUCH better. The bread crumb stuffing was moist yet crispy, still with large chunks of lobster meat and I swear the haddock looked larger. Rice and veggies still good.
I got the California burger and it had huge slices of fresh avocado--so good. I had wanted onion rings, but my bf likes french fries. When our waitress came by I ordered but with fries, my bf said "NO! Get the onion rings--you like those more," seeing our "dilemma" the waitress offered to do half and half...LOVE THAT--that's good customer service.
I tried the Perfect Storm cocktail--very nicely made.
We also opted to try the Fried Cheesecake--it was very very delish! Warm on the outside--just a little frozen in the middle. The strawberries were a perfect touch. Loved it!
The place was busy too--from diners, to just drinkers at the bar. It's a nice place.
Well, I was quickly over the pubs on State Street and Union Street, mainly because of their mediocre food... So i needed to find something more interesting. Â
That's when I came across this place.
The cheese sticks were amazing--it was the first palette appetizing food I've had on the trip. Â And then the Bacon Cheeseburger was fantastic.
Also, amazing beer selection and rad bartender, Greg. Â I had the Harpoon Black IPA and Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA. Coming back for sure.
My first time there was on Valentine's Day last night. I've have only heard of the place through friends I have worked with, or seen people check-in there online.
The main reason I went there was because I had a Groupon and the reviews I read on here about how great the food and drinks were.
Well they were all right! The service was very good and they were very friendly. Something I always look for. The were very accommodating when I called day of for reservations that night, Â I even emailed them and they got back to me within an hour. Very nice. Walking in the host was very welcoming and the bartender was friendly and attentive as I awaited my company.
They have a nice selection on draft and in bottle/can. The prices are very reasonable. Â They even carry PBR and on of my favorites Narragansett. Â The website has all the prices which is pretty cool.
The cocktail menu they have is very good and creative. Â They had a lot of special cocktails for Valentine's Day and they were quiet good, Â and strong!
For food we just got dinner. Next time I will have to try out the Apps! Â Heard the buffalo chicken rangoon was amazing. But I got a steak Tip dinner w/ Mash and Rice and it was very very good. The Tips were perfectly cooked medium and the marinade was very tasty. Good size portions too. Â The person I dined with got a steak tip salad and she was impressed as well.
I will definitely be back and look forward to trying their apps and one of their burgers.
I would of gotten a burger my first time, but I figured a burger wouldn't be the best thing to get on a 2nd date. Â In case it gets messy. Â So next time.
Probably the best bar food in the Fanueil Hall area and it's also decently priced! A great lunch spot but be warned that it can get very crowded on nice days.
I ordered the the blackened burger and it was delicious! The burger itself was very flavorful and cooked just to the right tenderness; some places think "medium" = dry, hard & tough patty. Â The fries that come with it are also yummilicious - very addicting and extremely hard not to devour.
Service is very good but a little slow so be prepared for a long lunch.
I'm surprised to see so many overly positive reviews. I found this place to be extremely mediocre and unremarkable.
We came on a Thursday at 6:30pm and it was full. The space is rather small with probably only 10 or 12 tables. It was busy and loud and smelled a bit like fish. I like a full bar, but the acoustics were terrible and I had a difficult time hearing my friends (and look, I'm in my 20s, so I'm not like an annoyed grandma saying the kids are too loud). We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table, though they kept coming over to tell us it would only be 2 more minutes. Regardless, it wasn't a bad wait and they did send a waitress over to get our drink order.
I had a pumpkin ale, which came with a really enjoyable sugared rim. That, and the one dessert they have--the cookie dough pie were the two best parts of the evening. Note, however, that it's not really a pie-- it's a cookie skillet. Tastes good, regardless of the misnomer.
Everything else was cruddy bar food. I had French onion soup, which was the worst I've had. The broth had zero flavor and the cheese was not browned, which is the biggest offense in French onion soupdom I can think of. My turkey "grilled" turkey ruben was lightly toasted at best (no grill marks or browning to be found) and the "fresh turkey" was clearly deli meat with perfectly round edges. When it arrived, they had forgotten to put the sauerkraut on-- a key part to a rueben. When they brought me the sauerkraut, it was bland. I might have been better off without it. My friend said her fish was way overcooked.
There are lots of TVs around and they tilt the mirrors so you can see the TVs in the reflection, so that was cool. But, overall, really no reason to return. There's nothing unique about it and they don't do the usual stuff particularly well.
Where did BPB come from? I had no idea this place existed! That and I also definitely got lost getting there; tucked away on a little side street that the GPS just can't seem to figure out how to get me onto.
After I finally made it here, I was impressed by the ambiance of the location. Although, the crowd quickly died down shortly after the after work happy hour crowd dispersed. I was hoping that same crowd would continue on into the night especially since it was a Thursday evening. Â That being said, it can get empty pretty darn fast after the 8 pm hour.
One thing you must absolutely try that I some how now can't get off my brain is the Buffalo Chicken Rangoon! Who would have thunk to do that?! Â It was one of the best rangoons I've ever had. Although I'm sure the calorie count and fat content probably helped with that, but that's besides the point. (Don't judge me!)
On that note, I hope to come back to enjoy more of their food and when we're back to the summer weather again, hopefully be able to enjoy this patio that everyone speaks of.
My boyfriend and I decided to try this place after buying a livingsocial deal there and I'm glad we did! The first time we tried to go, I called ahead to see how long of a wait there would be for dinner. The person I spoke to on the phone told me it was about a 15 minute wait, but what he didn't tell me was that the crowd there that night didn't have any intention of leaving and giving up their table. Granted, they were showing an NBA playoffs game, so we weren't all that surprised at how packed it was when we showed up.
We tried again a few weeks later on a Saturday night, which turned out to be much better timing since there was no after-work crowd, and it wasn't late enough for a late-night crowd yet (we were the only people there aside from a group of women having a bachelorette party). The service was good, and one of the employees was nice enough to change the channel on the TV for us when we asked.
I wasn't sure what to expect from the food, as I wasn't sure whether this was more of a place to go grab an after-work drink and maybe some of the standard, subpar "bar food" if you're REALLY hungry, so I was pleasantly surprised. We got potato skins as an appetizer which were huge, came with a generous serving of sour cream (which definitely gets you some points in my book), and didn't look like something you buy out of the freezer at the grocery store. Each one had to have been about 1/4 of a whole potato, and the bacon on top was fresh and crispy. I got a burger, which was also big and delicious, and not overcooked, which I'm always afraid of when I order a burger.
We left feeling stuffed and content, and would definitely go back again!
One extra star for the wonderful service my table had during lunch. Because the timing of the food was off and they were afraid the dish would get cold, they refired another one for us. Also, the manager (?) walking around the restaurant and checking on everyone once in a while was very kind.
Instead of the 90's music, we heard 80's this time. Eff. Yeah.
I actually liked this place. I came here to visit the Boston http://Yelp.com Community Manager and his entourage so I could get some questions answered and at the same time, enjoy a somewhat decent hockey game featuring the crafty and cunning Vancouver Canucks and the brash and brutal Boston Bruins.
As for drinks, I had a Magic Hat #9 Beer, and a Perfect Storm as a cocktail. The beer was decently good, was really refreshing and nice and cold. The Perfect Storm Cocktail was expensive ($10), but unlike other cocktails I had at bars, it was served in a glass that looked like a pint glass rather than a lowball glass. What drew me to the cocktail was that it had Grey Goose Vodka, an expensive vodka from France. The drink was really juicy, refreshing, not strong, and did not have an alcoholic aftertaste.
Food was also good. They were nice enough to give large plates filled with various appetizers that should be on the regular menu. The Nacho plate that they serve was not the best nachos I had, but the cheese was really good. It should be big enough for 4 people. The Quesadilla was also tasty, loved the softness of the warm tortilla, and the chicken was good as well. The Buffalo Chicken Rangoons and the Philly Cheese Steak Egg Rolls were also tasty. They had a nice crispiness on the outside, and were hot, flavorful, and nice and chewy on the inside. The Chicken Tenders were just decent. They had a nice crisp on the outside but the chicken itself was a little dry and needed flavoring. Calamari was also decently good, the pieces were a little small, was crispy on the outside and a little chewy on the inside. They put some peppers on the side which give a little spice of flavor.
Interior is fairly impressive for a bar in Boston. Although it has a typical American look, it also has a sophisticated look to it so it can appeal to the typical American working professional. The bathrooms are actually really clean. The flooring and tiles are actually kind of shiny and no bad odor. It's probably the cleanest bathroom I found in a bar in the somewhat decent city of Boston.
Service was just okay in terms of effectiveness, since it was a fairly busy evening. The servers seem to be really nice and some even looked gorgeous. It took a while for my cocktail drink to arrive, but my server, Mariah, was really nice, appeared to have a great personality and always checked on me and the Boston http://Yelp.com Community Manager and his entourage to see if we needed anything. Â
Overall, if you are looking for a decently good bar, with tasty food and do not mind spending a lot of money on cocktails, this is a great choice at a great location, but it could get really crowded on Friday afternoons or if there is a playoff game featuring a team from Boston.
Send a girly girl to an after-work haven of cute, blue shirted (doesn't matter if they are boring) financial district men and what else other than joy and giggly laughter do you expect? Since most of the men are glued to the Bruins game (typical), it definitely made me notice, and appreciate, the awesome wait staff, massive cocktail list and beautiful new patio with "Vertical Gardens" this place has to offer. Battery Park Bar and Lounge is the best new hidden lunch-dinner-after-work-date-should-stay-late-Âkinda-place.
We had a large party, they MORE than accommodated.
We wanted lots of drinks, we had empty glassed, they removed promptly.
People were drinking cocktails like a Cherry Martini, Red Sangria, The Antioxidant, Carrot Cake, Raspberry Truffle...Amazing. Didn't expect that one! And there are more where that came from!
The appetizers were very bar friendly, fried and reliable. Apparently these Buffalo Ragoons were amazing, but I'm veg so I can't say I know. I am more impressed in the fact that I got a really good grilled Salmon on top of greens for lunch in the downtown area without breaking the bank.
I do want to see who hangs out here on the weekends. Apparently there is a DJ on Saturdays. But go and check out the patio, it's really nice and surprising to convert an alley into an oasis in Boston!
P.S. The Bathrooms were AWESOME and Clean.
I stopped in for afternoon appetizers and beverages with my friend S. Â I had the day off, it was a holiday and I had a Living Social deal here. Â I had gotten my hair done that morning and we met here afterwards.
I walked from the T here, quick and easy to get to and I took a seat at a booth. Â It was fairly empty inside due to the fact, I'm guessing it was a holiday and during the work day. Â It was smaller than I thought it would be though.
Our waitress was very nice; I told her I had the deal before ordering so she knew. Â We had the buffalo wonton things which were good and nachos. Â Obviously, nachos. Â Did you expect anything else from me? Â They were good.
I'd go back for an after work dinner/drink, not sure what the weekend scene is like. Â Something to check out this summer.
PERFECT lunch spot for those in the area. I ordered the mushroom pizza and it was absolutely delicious and enormo. Still had half left so I saved it for lunch at work the next day and my coworkers literally followed the smell to my desk like hounddogs.
The first passage to my next self-help book:
"Step 1: If you want a mans, bring the Battery Park pizza." Or turn it into a perfume or roll your body up in it for a night to marinate in it. The men will come like flocks of vultures.
As an update, their full menu is great. They have tons of options for whatever you're in the mood for. Please get the buffalo chicken rangoons, philly cheese steak eggs rolls and anything with the sweet potato fries.
I think this is become a new hot-spot in the financial district amongst the boring old choices. I went there at 12:15 the other day and there was a line out the door! I expect it will be more packed as the weather gets better.
This was a nice find.
Not too busy at 8:30pm on a Saturday night. I'm sure it fills up later in the evening because the staff were starting to pull tables when we were there. All the booths were available though.
Nice beer selection, good to see a decent choice of local brews on draught, although slightly disappointed they were out of the Wachusett IPA. The server was very friendly, checked on us often and was very quick with the drinks.
Ordered a couple of apps based on the servers recommendation. Philly steak eggrolls and buffalo chicken rangoons. They were decent.
Good number of TVs, music was good too and not blaring.
I'd go back.
This is a late review, as I visited here in late October. I came across this place while having lunch across the street. A few weeks later, I had an occasion to stop in. An acquaintance was in town and she was looking for a place to watch football while we grabbed drinks and a snack. I recommended meeting here because it was close to her hotel and I remembered seeing all the big screen TVs when walking past. Well, we both really liked the place. As mentioned in other reviews, lots of big screen TVs.
The wait staff was very helpful and nice; they didn't mind that we spent 3-4 hours sitting, talking and watching football. My friend particularly enjoyed the red wine they recommended. I'm not a big red wine fan, but I did have a glass and found it to be very good. We had the Buffalo Chicken Rangoon and the quesadilla. Both were very good. The portions were large and filling. My friend also had a salad, which was also pretty large.
I particularly liked the atmosphere, especially on a Sunday afternoon. I have recommended it to friends and I hope to get back soon. Â Its not far from my office, so would like to check it out for lunch as well.
I came here with a friend for lunch today on a whim and I have to say that I left very happy. Though it is a bit of a trek for me from the leather district, I can see myself returning pretty regularly.
We were given the option of either sitting at a table or in a booth, which I appreciated. It was weird that the server sat us and disappeared without really giving us menus, it took about two minutes for them to recognize the oversight and return with said menus. I was also disappointed that they don't serve unsweetened iced tea. I ended up ordering the mint herbal tea so all was not lost!
I had the the sesame-crusted ahi tuna and shared the stuffed mushroom with my friend. The tuna was cooked perfectly and the ginger soy dipping sauce was delicious. Both of us loved the stuffed mushroom- just the perfect balance of cheese and roasted veggies, and surprisingly hearty for a smaller appetizer. My friend had the clam chowder and the anjou pear salad, both of which he devoured and said were very good. The food was worlds above typical bar fare quality and presentation wise, and I'm definitely not complaining!
I booked reservations here for a work lunch for a group of 10, and called it in a day before. Â The guy who answered the phone was more than pleasant, even telling me he was happy that we were making reservations before the typical 12:30 pm crowd. Â
We got there and our table was already set up, and we were seated, and the waitress was incredible. Â She was so accomodating to all 10 of our needs and got all of our requests correctly and right away. Â When salsa was spilled as the gigantic appetizer variety plate was passed around, 3 staff members rushed to grab napkins to help clean up the mess.
The food was served hot, and it was delicious. Â Drinks were refilled before we could even ask, and when a burger was slightly undercooked, it was whisked away and replaced quickly with a brand new one. Â Even as the lunch crowd filled all the tables, we were still attended to. Â
I'm incredibly impressed with the quality of this place, both food and employees, and would definitely consider them for future reservations.
I decided to introduce my friend to this place last night as I had enjoyed some beverages here the week before. Â Must I say, we will be coming back sooner than later.
The bar has a nice atmosphere and the staff are friendly and attentive. Â We enjoyed the overall feel and warmth of this place and it was a definite plus that they had a bunch of flat screens stationed throughout the bar.
Drinks....they kept them coming and the food was very tasty, the Buffalo Chicken Rangoons are a new fav of mine. Â We also ordered the Chicken Nachos which took up half our table, but I will admit we definitely did some damage to them.
I would recommend this place for lunch if you are needing to get out of the office, after work drinks and even a fun weekend pre-gaming spot. Â Cheers!
