"Went for the history. America's Oldest Continuously Operating Tavern."
Walking on the Freedom Trail, I came across the Bell In Hand Tavern and had to have a beer after I read it was America's Oldest Continuously Operating Tavern. I believe the word "continuously" here means that it has switched locations before, but still unique. Bar staff wasn't very friendly, overall not that impressed. Beer selection was good.
This bar is in a great spot in an area of Boston filled with Irish pubs. It is supposedly the oldest pub in the country. They have a decent draft list with a "special" beer brewed special only for them by Sam Adams. The food was decent. Pretty much bar food. There are a ton of Irish pubs in Boston. This one is fun but there are other choices.
