We walked in 20 minutes before the 9pm curtain call for the NXT crew & bought $10 tickets. I like spur-of-the-moment activities, but I should've known easily-scored tickets meant not a 5-star show.
Obviously, improv is effing hard. The scripted parts, the musical bits--those were funny, I'd even call the song about the Orange Line (subway line) genius...but, unfortunately, the improv skits just weren't that funny. Most of the crew were talented & had good comedic timing, a few actresses had to be carried through the scene.
I like the basement setting & the location on busy Hanover Street; I wouldn't hesitate to see another show (with a different round if actors), but I wouldn't label myself a fan.
