I was looking for a divey bar when I happened to come across this place. Â It was everything I was looking for to get out of the rain and to get off my feet after a long day of being a tourist. Â We got a seat easily at the bar and enjoyed a few drinks. Â The bartender was nice and even took our picture for us when we were struggling to do some selfies!
Review Source:This bar is small, dark, and very divey. But who said that was a bad thing? I stopped in with my sister and brother-in-law when they were in town, just for a quick drink. We left, ate dinner on Hanover Street, and stopped by Mike's and Modern for some pastries for later. We couldn't really decide where to go then, so we headed back to Durty Nelly's. The bartender remembered us and the drinks we'd ordered during our first visit a few hours earlier. That's great for a bar where you're regular, but even nicer when it's only your second visit. Their was a musician singing with his guitar and it seemed like a lot of his friends were there. It made for a very friendly and not at all cliquey atmosphere. It feels like the type of neighborhood bar where everyone would, in fact, know your name. I don't live anywhere near the North End, but if I did I'm pretty sure this would be my favorite neighborhood bar.
