Based on our one-time experience, I don't know why Granary Tavern doesn't garnish a high rating...or more reviews. It's certainly worthy.
We shared a watermelon salad. We so appreciated the cool, refreshing fruit & that bite of mint. Sticky, humid Boston nights ain't no joke.
We should've shared their chicken & waffles...we both only ate half! Loved the giant waffle with deep pockets perfect for filling w/ maple syrup & that delightful honey butter. Two pieces of white meat chicken coated in a sweet, thick, crispy, dark brown batter. The first chix & waffles that made me think it's not only Roscoe's (in LA) who knows what they're doin' with that dish.
Both our waitress & busser gal were attentive & friendly. Complaint about the other waitresses--it was obvious we were trying to flag down someone (for hot sauce) & a few waitresses deliberately passed us by or wouldn't make eye contact. They could've at least offered to track down our waitress; it wasn't super busy. End of bitchin'.
