The Champagne Lounge at RumBa is my kind if place, that much is clear. Located right inside RumBa but off to the side in it's own little spot, the Champage Lounge is special for sure. This is a great place to unwind with a close group or person. Walk through the large doors sealing off this semi-secret spot and slip into a private room with its own bar and bottles of bubbly everywhere, mood lighting, deep plush sofas and red interior that make you want to sit too close to someone and get in some trouble. Where is Don Draper when I need him??
No, this is not a place for a wild and crazy night, but more of a place for an intimate gathering where you can hear the people you are with talk. Quiet and classy. I can also see it being somewhere I would want to host a party for a friend if I were a local.
The food and drink is on par with the vibe - very good. It isn't cheap and you will pay more for a glass of whatever's your pleasure here than you may elsewhere, but I would say who cares? If this kind of place is your scene you will be glad you came and want to tell all your friends.
Next time I'm in Boston again, I will be back.
Verdict: Fun lounge for mingling or sitting with friends, perhaps for a more sophisticated, not wild, night out.
Visited on a Sat night while staying at the hotel. Side room was closed for private party, but they had a DJ in main area. Must watch tables like a hawk to get a space (some very pushy women stole a table from me while I was sitting down to hold it for me & 2 friends.)
Quick drink service from server or bar... we enjoyed prosecco and a ginger martini... But take your time enjoying them or your tab will grow exponentially. (Ok so that's the lesson with any swanky place, right? A lesson not learned by my normally beer-drinking, typically lightweight friends. Too bad it was my turn to pick up the tab. Sigh.)
I'd go back if I were staying in the immediate area.
