Your experience here will vary on when you go and who you get as your server. I've had great times here, but during the day, there is this one older lady who is probably the worst server in town. She just seems burnt out. Can't split a check to save her life and never remembers to bring your drink order. Total scatter-brain. At night there is a thick cloud of douchey bro funk that makes everyone for some reason turn into an a$$hole. The guys behind the bar are great though. Come here, but be cautious.

Being local and enjoying a weekend drink, I have tried to like this place. BUT you could not pay me to go there now.  The last three times I have gone here the service has been getting worse, to the point that you cant believe someone can be so rude.
Apps are ok, drinks are drinks, but when you can't even get the bartenders attention, it is a strange, ugly situation.
I always wondered what it would be like to be invisible and I found out my last visit to Patterson's.  My fiance and I sit at the bar, we wait, and we wait, and we wait.  The bartender seems to go out of his way to ignore us. No acknowledgment at all, nothing. I ask my fiance if this seems weird and he says yeah...So we finally get up and leave, and the bartender then looks at us walk out the door..
This is a public place isnt it?? was it too much to expect someone to serve us?
oh well, last time we stop by this place...

Ordered a reuben sandwich. It arrived with almost soggy bread, not toasted even and some small bit corned beef that appeared to be steamed (maybe with the bread!?) and a huge amount of sourkraut  that was watery.   In other words, it was terrible.  The menu said it came with some fancy mustard...which they didn't have on it or anywhere in the restaurant.    The potato salad was just potato with the skin on in large chunks and mayonaise.   I was stunned at the blandness and soggyness of the whole mess.  I was there with people after we attended a funeral and I made sure not to make a scene, but I sure would have loved to send it back!

Decent pub food. Great beer and spirits. Fun staff. Can be a bit loud and crowded in their small space, but overall, we love going there.

Not really impressed with the food or the menu. But they have a good selection of beer on tap. Our favorite bartender was Steve. My husband and I were living in town for a few months while I attended an academy and on weekends we would walk up to Pattersons for some Racer 5. Steve was always there interested in knowing how my progress was. Windsor is a very small town, and we didn't exactly fit in. So its nice to find a bartender who cares and recognizes you. Other bartenders were also Ok.

Patterson's is a great place to sit back, relax and enjoy a great meal, or to get pumped up when a big football game is on. They have plenty of TV's around the restaurant, so no matter who you're a fan of, you're usually covered.

The waitresses are friendly and attentive, and the foods is delicious. It's a great place to come with one or with a large group. It's  nestled in a cute part of Windsor, so the crowds don't overwhelm, but there's always enough people there to make it a great time! Perfect for watching Sunday games, or even the big one!

Went for lunch with two folks from work.  Tri-tip steak sandwich and waffle fries were very good.

    Nice comfortable pub atmosphere.
    Waitress was nice.

Would have been four stars if the bar tender wasn't:
    1. dying her hair while working and
2 actually brushing her teeth (or maybe tooth) while standing behind the bar.  I am not kidding.  Tooth brush in her mouth while listening to a customer sitted in front of her.

Nice place, but I am guessing the owners don't know this stuff goes on or maybe that is the owner.

This place is garbage. I never reviewed a place until now. I used to come here when it first opened and it was just okay. I came back from out of town and couldn't even get a drink at 10 pm on a Thursday night. When I got there the only bartender who was working had misplaced someone's credit card and wouldn't even acknowledge me. I waited 10 minutes then walked out. The bar wasn't even full. Shitty service, bad food bunch of 40 + year old local meatheads. Don't come here, make the trip to Healdsburg.

This is a GREAT place to see the Giants and other teams play. The waitstaff is super-friendly and attentive--as long as you're cool, they're cool.

Patterson's gets super-busy but I'm not surprised since they have a good selection of beers on tap and the grub is tasty. The caesar salad had just the right amount of dressing and it came with perfectly grilled garlic bread. If you want to make a special order--say a burger sans bun and topped with grilled onions and mushrooms, they'll do that for you too, no problem.

The pub shows all the college football games, as well as MLB and NFL games, and while I have not been here yet for Sunday brunch, I hear that it's quite good--$12.99 with bottomless mimosas. Bottoms up!

What can i say? all i know is people that work there are hard working! they work to offer customer service, good quality food, and good drinks.....

sometimes its busy. but any popular place is . time to time.. i have read some of the reviews and i think in most cases they are harsh!

Emerson the chef, has brought a new fun dynamic there that tastes great and is fun. vinnie and steve....well, there a free comedy act that disses out good drinks. tammy, also is a good bartender with a welcoming attitude.

the wait staff..... jamie is a work horse. she stays on top of her tables, ashley is so personable, with the same tenacity to make sure her tables are happy.

    and it can go on!

listen! the pub is a fun place. if the experience you had was not a " great one "
then you might want to ask your self........ was it you only?
    Nothing is perfect,

but i stand behind this place! and its working staff.

After some confusion between the waitresses, Doreen turned out to be our waitress. She was new but eager to please. I had a Cobb salad which was pretty much hospital food quality but wife had a patty melt that was delicious.
    So why four stars?

The beer selection on tap and Doreen.

A pitcher of Boddington's Bitter and one of Smithwick's Ale are you kidding me? I have been wanting to taste these.
Also Doreen adjusted our bill without a fuss when I questioned the accuracy.

I will go back as long as I see Doreen when I walk in the door.

I went there again several Wednesdays ago.  I walked in with a party of 5 at about 8:45.  After another late guest joined our party our waitress finally comes to our table about 9pm (we were having a good time, so weren't initially bothered by the delay).  The waitress asks us if we'd like any drinks, we give her our order and ask for food menus.  When she brings the menus she says they aren't serving food anymore only appetizers, "it's all fried shit," as she put it.  She walked away without further explanation, we saw on their table top bar menu that the kitchen closes at 9...

If you want to close the kitchen early, be up front about it and tell people when they sit down.  Don't dilly around to serve the table after you can justify the kitchen's being closed on policy.  This place is run by amateurs.

We weren't able to cancel our drinks orders so we guzzled down our beers before we split to go to one of the many better options around the green.

I bet this place is great if you're a local coming in to watch the game and grab a brew. Personally, I wouldn't go back here if you paid me.

Let me preface this by saying that this was a relatively slow Tuesday night- no reason for service to suck the way it did.

We walked in and immediately approached the bar. The bartender couldn't be bothered to acknowledge our party and continued slowly meandering around, talking to the locals. Couldn't even make eye contact. This should have been my cue to run screaming from the building.

After a few very uncomfortable minutes, we got the guy's attention and were sent to a table. The waitress took our drink orders, came back and dropped three of the four drinks we asked for, then disappeared for a good ten minutes. We ended up having to grab the fourth drink from the bar.

The waitress eventually reappeared and took our orders. She was very friendly and seemed knowledgeable about the food, and even let me swap my cole slaw out for a salad.

The food arrives and our meal completely derails. Instead of fries and a salad, I get cole slaw and a salad. She acknowledges that this is wrong but does not offer to get it fixed. WTF? My friend, who ordered garlic fries and NO salad, got NO fries and a salad. My boyfriend's BBQ burger is swimming in mayonnaise. Somehow my buddy's sandwich is not messed up. Waitress offers to bring me some dressing for my salad (admitting that she forgot to ask earlier when taking my order.) I asked for Italian, she brought back Balsamic Vinegar strong enough to strip rust off nails. At this point, we are over correcting her and decide to eat quick and run.

The food was nothing to write home about. Their Fish and Chips literally made me sick.

After eating, we had to track down the waitress to get our check, which of course was rather pricey considering the bad food and awful service. To add insult to injury, we were charged extra for the salads (one of which was never ordered). The waitress never made mention of this when taking our orders.

So, lesson learned. Save your money, time, and patience. Do not eat here.

Tried to place a to-go order, but they won't answer. So, if you can't answer the phone or provide the correct number to call for your customers to contact you, then you shouldn't be in business! Epic Fail!

I like the setting.  There's relaxed inside family-friendly tables, a fun sports-fan atmosphere for the game nights, and quiet outdoor eating as well.  My son likes to eat nachos here - he says they're better than Denny's.  Well, not being a nacho fan, I just have to take his word for it.  They do have WiFi and that's a big plus.  If there were more to do near the Green, I'd go there more often.  But it's a fun place to stop when I am nearby.  It is a pub so the family feeling goes away at night.  I enjoy it more for the family but I still meet friends there if they want to in the evenings.  The waitresses and bar staff have all been friendly at every single visit and I definitely remember that!

While up in Santa Rosa /Windsor area, my bf and I were looking for a spot to catch some beers and food as well as see a bowl game.  Fellow Yelpers gave this spot a decent review, so we decided to try it out.

We arrived before 6p right in the middle of Happy Hour and secured our spots at the bar.  There was only one bartender working and he was not keeping up well at all.  He struggled with remembering our beer orders (not that tough as we ordered a Bass and a Newcastle) and had a tough time getting back to us for our food order.  When our appetizers did arrive, he neglected to leave a fork for the bf.  The food was mediocre.  I had the chili and 2 ahi fish tacos.  My bf had the beef skewers and fish and chips.  The ahi tacos were tasty, but way smaller than I expected.  The chili was just so-so.  My bf said the skewers were good, but smaller than he expected too.  The fish on the fish & chips was also really small - we're used to a whole fillet and this was barely half that.

Coupled with the service issues, the 2 stars is more than fair in my opinion. They really needed another bartender or a waitress to help the bar with food orders. This was a bit of a disappointing experience.

I stopped in for a beer with some friends on the Friday after Thanksgiving (trying to avoid downtown Santa Rosa madness) and was happy with what I found. They were out of Lagunitas IPA, which was a bummer, but the waitresses were attentive and helpful. The ambiance was low-key, and enjoyable. We could talk over the music, even at 10 pm, which is a plus, but a group of college students singing along with Journey a few tables over made me feel better about a somewhat "unhip" bar choice for a Friday night-- at least people were having fun! The $14 pitchers of high quality beers were filled 4 whole pints, making them a great deal for the group! I will be back to patterson's for sure!

Stopped in here for a brew on a Saturday night. It was busy but we were able to be seated right away. The service was good and attentive even though they were busy. Plenty of beer choices to select from and our food was spot on.We had an artichoke dip which was spicy with hot chilis in just the right measure. We followed that up with fish and chips - classic fare with a cold refreshing ale - and it was quite good - crispy but not over done.

The only thing that detracted from the experience was that the music was too loud for the space. The people at the table next to us were practically yelling at each other over the music which made it difficult to for us to hear one another at our table. We have been in at other less busy times and the music and noise level was down quite a bit and our visit was much more pleasant.

All in all though, it's good to have a pub in town - the only one I know of anyway - and it's worth a visit or two. Just be mindful of when you visit depending how much noise you like or don't like. BTW: is pretty family friendly in the day time, evenings maybe not quite so much.

I was really craving a burger after mountain biking, and my friend suggested Patterson's. We sat outside and enjoyed some cold ones, but the service was poor. (I think because we sat outside. It was ninety-five degrees out.) They would come out, ask a quick question and jump back inside. If you were kind of slow like my friend, you would just be starting to speak and they were already gone. He remained thirsty.

Friend ordered the Pub burger well done. I ordered bacon and blue burger MR. They swapped the burgers. The bacon and blue was a disappointing well done. Friend's Pub burger was MR. I don't send things back after seeing the movie 'Waiting'. I didn't have time to wait for the order all over again. What could they do? scrape the toppings off mine and...whatever. I mentioned it to the server and she just said, "I hate it when they do that."

The burger is also too tall. Difficult to take bite of. If I was a boa constrictor, I could detach my lower jaw to get this kill in, but I am not. I ditched the bun in order to eat it. The bun was kind of dry anyhow.

This is only my second negative review but I felt it warranted it.

I could give this joint a negative star I would. Have you ever been to a place where you just felt insulted by whatever try to pass off as both service and food? This place was so poorly run.

We are in Windsor for the Vineman event which brings an influx of thousands of people. You would think such a popular and local place would know this. The service was abysmal. The place was just too crowded and clearly the folks who were there were hungry. The bar tender just talked with the locals at the bar and took his time filling drink orders. The poor waitress lacked help and a personality.

We ordered two grilled cheese sandwiches. 45 minutes later they came out after we asked how much longer. The sandwiches were cold with not even half melted cheese, raw tomato, and 10 French fries. The waitress apologized for the amount of fries but what should have been apologized for was the overall awfulness of the wait and the sandwich.

Thank goodness for the In and Out down the Hwy. Three grilled cheese and two fries in under 10 minutes.

Do yourself a favor and find a different local business to patronize. We would have if we didn't have to wait for 45 minutes.

Over $100 for 2 burgers, wings, 2 beers and two shots of Jame-o. Food was okay, and the place is cool inside, but we won't go back without a bank loan unless it's for a glass of water.

If you think there is going to be a wide variety of beers, think again. Probably 80% of the list is Bud, Coors or Miller product. They do have the Pacific Northwest usuals but they don't have one beer from Belguim or Germany. There is a better selection of Scotch and Tequila.

If you are going for the food, ok. If not, don't go.

There was a group of 12 of us, and they fit us in right away. Our waitress (I believe she said her name was Erin) was excellent. She was on top of things, she was up beat and brought things with a smile. For such a big group, she kept the drinks filled and the appetizers, and main dishes coming without a hiccup.
The Thai chicken salad was so good. I also nibbled off everyone else's plate because everything looked good. Everyone was happy with what they ordered. The chowder was ok, not the best but different in its own way that made it good. The potato salad was good.

I would go back to this place next time I am in town.

I didn't want to like this place. I'm not a big fan of Windsor, and didn't really feel the need to go to Windsor to drink/eat. I already was in love with Stout Bros, and didn't want to like another Irish Pub (I'm a one Pub girl)... but I went here, and I fell in love.

The servers are amazing and very sweet. Sometimes they get busy and are a little slow, but they do get to you eventually, and are always happy to accommodate whatever you need. The more you go there, the more they go out of their way for you. More ranch? No problem? Water? No problem? Water for your friend? No problem. Water for your other friend? Delivered with a smile. No matter how many times we've asked the girls to make another trip to our table, they've been nothing but gracious, even though I would have been annoyed as hell by then.

The beers on tap that I've had have always been first rate, and they've got Smithwick's on tap, which isn't super common outside of an Irish themed pub. The fried artichoke hearts are aMAzing (hence the more ranch), and the fries are quite tasty, too. I haven't had much in the way of actual food, so I can't comment much on that, other than to say that the tuna melt was pretty bad. I don't know that I'd eat a full meal here, but it's the perfect place to go after work for a few beers and some appetizers. Just don't go when there's a game on... sports fans are always too loud.

Nothing special; I've had better, but I'd go back if everyone else wanted to visit Patterson's again.  2.5 stars is about right.

I had the club sandwich, which was okay, but it had no mayo.  Is this supposed to be some new, hip approach, or did they simply forget the mayo?  I dunno.  There wasn't much lettuce, and there were only 2 skimpy pieces of bacon.  2 stars.

Service was pretty fast, and our server was nice enough.  3 stars.

It's funny that Christopher S. noted that the waitresses were "little girls" and that he'd had problems with the bartender.  When I was there, the waitresses were 30-ish, and the (female) bartender had that 50-something-and-sorta-attractive-in-a-rough-way thing going on.  I would have thought that the middle aged bartender wouldn't be good for this place, but it looked like she could handle herself if there was trouble.  I doubt there's ever much trouble in Windsor.  But I'm off on a tangent, here.

No sugar on the table (for iced tea).  Not a deal breaker, but would have been nice.

It was really loud inside, which I guess is okay for a sports bar / Irish pub, but didn't make coversation very easy.  Funny, 'cause it's not a big place.  Bad acoustics, I guess.

    Overall, a little underwhelming.

The scene, 5 hungover kids (from the night before) dehydrated from spending too much time in the sun (appox 4 hours b/c San Franciscans are wimps about the sun) who haven't eaten since breakfast. Mess.
Enter, Patterson's Pub and Grill. A perfect place to rest on a long drive.

    Cold Beer? Yes
    Waffle Fries? Yes!
    Flat Screen TVs? Yes!
Brownie Sundae we've been fantasizing about all day? YES!

The service here was prompt- used to the wayward travelers the waitress kept our water glasses full and the beers/diet cokes coming. For pub food their menu was quite diverse, the salads are large, the fries are crisp and sandwiches are creative. A great pit stop on the journey back to SF from wine country.

For starters, I dig good pub food. I'd even go as far as to say I love good pub food. Now that I've said that, every experience I've had (along with every other person I know who's been in there) at Patterson's has been horrible, bordering on "stick my finger down my throat like a super model" horrible.

I recently met some friends there on a Friday night. Arriving early, I took a seat at the bar and ordered a vodka tonic. It arrived and I paid. Two minutes later the bar tender came up and said I owed her $5 for the drink. I told her I paid for it two minutes ago, still having the change sitting loosely in my pocket I showed her. I even pointed out the tip she took from right in front of me 30 seconds ago. Her response- " Well it's not in the computer honey." Thankfully a guy sitting a few stools down vouched for me and she backed down.

Fast forward 30 minutes- friends arrive, sitting at the bar, ready to order food. The bar tender takes their drink orders and low and behold, 5 minutes later, after already paying, she comes back and asks for money for the drinks. WTF?! It was borderline comical at this point. I was seriously beginning to question my sanity and the bar tenders.

I reluctantly order, knowing full well that everything I have ever ate here simply sucked. Either overcooked, not cooked properly, not seasoned or just plain tasted like butt. The only consistently decent thing might be the fries and beer (hence the 2 stars). What's mind boggling is that they are serving simple food... it's not that hard!

My shepards pie shows up in record time- literally 7-8 minutes after I order it... that's like fast food fast. I'm already nervous. The mashed potatoes on top were not crispy at all, but the scary surprise that was underneath was far worse... Shepards pie is normally ground lamb with some peas, carrots, some herbs, maybe a little red wine, chicken broth and Worcester. Then topped with mashed potatoes and tossed in the oven or under the broiler.

As I peeled back the funky potatoes that blanketed the top of this dish a small smile crept up. "They actually f$!%ed up Shepard pie..." That's sad. Under the blankets laid a thick greyish pool of carrots, 3 pieces of cubed beef (why... oh yeah, laziness... the jackass chef probably cut off a few chunks from my friends steak sandwich and threw it in there) and chunks of potatoes. Oh yeah, you read that right. Chunks of potatoes in a "stew" topped with mashed potatoes... Are your f'ing joking. Swear to god, I've seen cat food that looks (and probably tastes better) than this pile in front of me. The saving grace... 4 more vodka tonics... one being a freebie from the forgetful, amnesiac bartender- "So I noticed you didn't eat much of your dinner honey?" Me- "Yeah, it taste like poop. That's not how Shepards pie is suppose to be made. This is an Irish pub right?" Her- " Yeah, it's not my favorite either. How bout a drink on the house." That saved them from a one star rating....

I might sound like an a'hole or food snob, but in all honesty, that place has to be the worst place in Windsor to eat at. I'll eat at the taco truck or have Joe make me something at the Green Grocer any day over eating at Pattersons.

As a drinking establishment, it's not bad. Over priced drinks, but still not bad. Problem is we don't have a lot of options here in Windsor. Hopefully if you're brave enough to venture in there your bar tender will remember you paid... and if you're lucky... she won't recommend the shepards pie.

With 2 weeks distance from the evening at hand, my perspective is a little clearer... and soberer.

So, I still recall having a really good time here, BUT I can't shake the feeling that we 7 (pretty clearly out-of-towners) were kind of brushed off by the bartender.  People to the immediate left and right of us were getting attention and served a bit quicker and with a little less need for flag downs and currency waving.  If it weren't for Eve (you're the best!) from Windsor Wine Shop across the street getting the b'tenders attention for us, I'm not sure we would have gotten our first round of shots as soon as we did... And the waiting game kind of persisted for the hour we were there, stifling the buzz...

... teetering on a 3-Star experience, but I'll give the benefit of the doubt.  We'll be back next year... see y'all then.

A fun place when your tastes shifts from the delicateness of crushed grapes to the NEED for slurry-speech inducing jet-fuel and brew!!

Patterson's would be quite a bit better if they had a better grasp of their identity. If you are an Irish Brewpub, serve Irish dishes!  The food is good, don't get me wrong... The Brews on tap are also good, Though if you want to substitute a beer you have run out of, don't assume a "GIRL" won't notice the difference, and try to pass something else off in it's place!!! ASK!  Funny how they assume we girls don't know these things.
Anyway, The place is "Abuzz" with either football or baseball games on the many tv screens tuned to all the various games being broadcast.  If you want excitement, This if a good place... If you are looking for a romantic corner- Fahgetaboudit!!!   Good for groups? Yeah!  Kids? don't recommend- wheelchair? yep-  atmosphere- PUB
    NOISY, FRIENDLY!!!  FOOD: YUMMY!!!
