I've been three or four times. Â Be sure to get a reservation as there's not much of a "down time" for this place. Â The fried chicken sandwich was literally one of the best sandwiches I've had in a LONG time and certainly top 5 chicken sandwiches ANYWHERE. Â
Now....down to business: Â The coconut cake is worth a drive. Â A very, very long drive. Â Yes, it's that good. Â FANTASTICLY heavy, dense cake with light as air coconut whipped cream/sour cream icing. Â Whoa. Â Bring two of your closest friends because I'd be surprised if you could finish it yourself.
It's going to be bad for my waistline that Patti's is only 20 minutes away from my home. Â Sigh. Â Where's the car keys?
My wife and I vacationed near Kentucky Lake and was advised not to miss Patti's. Â Thankfully we listened and stopped by for a late lunch. Â The food was exceptional but the desert was out of this world. Â I had the Rib-eye sandwich while my wife enjoed the Kentucky Brown Plate. Â As I said the meal was good but do't forget to save room for desert. Â Personally I can't say enough about the Butterscotch Pecan Pie and my wife was equally enthusiastic about the Chocolate Pecan Pie. Â As for the service it was second to none, thank you Nakita! Â All in all Patti's is on my revisit list the next time we visit the area.
Review Source:We usually come here at Christmas for the lights and our pork chop and its great fun. Â This week we came at Labor day, wow no long waits, the usual 2" chop split between the two of us, and it was quite enough. Â No more eating one each efficient service and some fun shopping. Â Love this place. Â BYOB unless you want iced tea. Â Super professional here. Salad, chop, veggies, flowerpot bread $22.00
Review Source:We've been to Pattis several times, and tonight were celebrating the birth of our dearest mother. Now, coming from Chicago, we are used to the finest of dining, Â Â Â But in the concrete jungle that is Chicago, one would never venture upon such an Indian lounging in a bathtub.
But down to the food.. The filets melt on your mouth. We had both the bacon wrapped and the filet medallions. Their hollandaise sauce is rich and creamy and the flower pot rolls are moist and light. It's byob, which is a rare gem in the Kentucky community.
Great place to meet someone from Sikeston, MO and you're coming from Nashville, TN. Okay, that's not a very typical scenario, but it fit my situation perfectly and there certainly are not many other appealing options that satisfy that criterion.
This place rocks. Two items jump out at me in particular: the gargantuan pork chop, which is a gargantuan wad of well-seasoned, gluttonous PIG! Sometimes that's just what you need, and it certainly was that day. The other item of note was the chocolate chess pie. Frankly, chocolate is what chess pie has needed since the dawn of its creation.
Really charming staff and decor here, as well. If you're in the greater Paducah-Land Between the Lakes area, don't get too depressed. Do what the locals do and eat an entire pig instead.
On your first visit to Patti's you owe it to yourself to try the pork chops. Â Seriously. Â Actually, you really should try their 2" pork chops, because they really are that awesome. Â And they'll be glad to help you pack up any leftovers. Â The bread baked in a flower pot is great, too, but is real easy to fill up on.
This time, we were there for lunch, so we ordered their special burger-of-the-day. Â This was a big burger on a homemade bun with cream cheese and chives instead of regular cheese. Â It was a real mess to eat, but it sure was good. Â Instead of fries, they came with their homemade potato chips. Â Fries couldn't have possibly been better than these chips. Â They were that good.
Instead of eating dessert, we opted to buy a whole pie to bring home. Â They have an amazing selection of pies, and we selected a peach pie. Â I have a thing about peach pies, and this one was exceptional. Â
Patti's is an old-fashioned kind of place, and all the staff has old-fashioned good manners and charm. Â It's is a fun place to visit, so expect a crowd, especially at meal times, and especially when schools are not in session. Â Plan on being there awhile.
Have not been here for a long time, and only visited twice because of the long drive, but its my favorite restaurant. A bit high in price, but great food and atmosphere, and love the shops and pond and gardens, and putt-putt golf. Love the 2 inch thick, super-tender pork chops, the flowerpot bread, the melt in your mouth filet mignon, and the mile high pies. Yum! I would have given 5 stars, but i am totally against them keeping animals in cages. Those poor animals have been there for so long, and dont seem to be very well cared for. They need to go to a farm or rescue or zoo where they will be treated right and will be happy. I feel so sorry for them! Customers would rather they be somewhere else and happy and healthy rather than kept around, miserable, just for the occassional glance from a customer. This is not helping your business, people! Do the humane thing and find them a good home! Please!
Review Source:A family reunion had a good dinner...20 of us...we had 3 tables which really worked out pretty well...a place that "growed"...from a small hamburger dining room to rooms added and added, it. It now can feed 265 ...many decorated rooms...lights,antiques,stained glass, gardens, a gift shop...and interesting varied menu. Mile high meringue, all sorts of chocolate things, 2inch pork chop...good vegetables,salads...dry county....gift shop and flower pot bread...a fun place
Review Source:We stopped here for the first time on our way to the Land Between The Lakes area. Â It was a very unique experience to just walk around the grounds. Â My wife and I both had the pork chops after we shared an order of the fried pickles. Â Both were yummy. Â I was very surprised at how good the food was. Â The service was also very good and our server was very friendly. Â I will certainly go back next time we're in the area.
Review Source:I'm a business traveler and during one of my trips in the Paducah area, my group went over to Patti's fora nice dinner.
The staff is super friendly and if you're going to go to this fine restaurant, don't mess around. Â Get the 2 inch thick Pork Chop on the bone.
That is one of the finest pork chops I've ever eaten.
Its a cool place and I have never had a bad meal at Patti's. Always make a reservation because you never know how many people will be there, and take a look at the online menu to help you decide before you get there.
Unique grounds and decor with quality foods! They only serve RC (royal crown) drink products so I opt for the lemonade!
I have been a customer for about 15 years and have visited your restaurant 1-2 times yearly. Â I am very disappointed to have paid approximately $25 per person for wonderful food only to have the extra food "BAGGED up" instead of in a decent take out box. Â I can get a better take out container from KFC or Olive Garden. Â Is this really the impression you want your customers to have?
Review Source:3.5 If you're a tourist, make a stop.
I had the steak sandwich special: Melt in your mouth yummy. Â Bread in the flowerpot was yeasty deliciousness. Â Sis's chicken sandwich was just okay--she wanted mine. Â
Our waiter exuded southern hospitality. Â Daughter's tortilla wrap sandwich was a 6.5/10. Â Niece had chile cheese burger that she raved about but I think she was super hungry. Â I loved the coffee but that may be swayed considering I had gross Crackerbarrel java. Great coleslaw and homemade potato chips. Â Shops good for granny. Â Not a lot of people there---just a little on the creepy side.
This place is a tourist trap. Â My wife and I had lunch there in
October 2011. Â She ordered a spinich salad an I a house salad and baked potato. Â The salads looked and tasted like they were made a week ago. Â The baked potato was cold. Â When we told our server about the sorry food quality. Â She simply said " Oh, I'm so sorry". Â She failed to take the food back but did not fail ti present us with a $24,00 check. Â We objected again and she said "I'm so sorry. Â Thank you and come again."
Do not go to this place. Â They will ignore you and take your money big time. Â We will NEVER go back. Â Stay away. you will be glad you did.
Great place to take out of town guests. The wait-staff is knowledgeable and provide great service. Â The food is excellent for the most part. Â I do love the pork chop - but I think it's probably the sauce that makes it, which they kindly bottle and sell in the gift shop (yum). Â Order the fried pickles as an appetizer, they are a delight. Â The Boatsinker dessert is to die for, but plan on splitting it, it's huge. Â I've also tried their chicken and steak dishes which were both amazing. Â
My only negative is that they continue to house caged animals as part of the "settlement." Sadly, these animals have seen better years. My son still likes to visit them, but they sadden me both in the care that they appear to be given, and in their living conditions. Â They look neither healthy nor happy. Â At this point, it's time for them to get rid of the animals and focus on other parts of their property which are an asset.
Probably best known for its 2" Pork Chop (which is no joke) it also has Mile High Pie's that are so tall the base can barely support the top. (The one I ordered finally collapsed from its own weight while I was eating it). Also fantastic is the Flowerpot Bread. This place really has it going on from a food perspective.
The staff is very friendly and you really do feel like family.
You owe it to yourself to stop in if you are in the area!
We visited recently, and my thoughts are the food is overpriced for the quality. The gift shops are nice, and it is a nice place to eat with for families. I would have rated 3 stars had my bread not had a chewy, salty, awful piece of something in it. You should try Patti's once for yourself.
Review Source:Found this place using Yelp on our way through and we were glad we did. The service and food were both great. Two of us got the one inch pork chop. The sauce that they use is really good and it was cooked perfectly. The address was wrong though and I could not check in while eating there because Yelp said I was not close enough to do so.
Review Source:I've been to Patti's three times, and each time I've gone the food has been consistently good. Though I haven't tried anything other than their world famous 2-inch pork chop, I have to say, it's a really good pork chop, worthy of its reputation. Juicy and tender, it melts in your mouth. It's literally the best pork chop I've ever had.
Patti's sides are delicious, too. Their bread, served in a cute, terra cotta flower pot, is home made, pillow soft, and addictive. It's served with strawberry butter, and in combination with the bread, it's difficult to avoid eating it to the point where you're full before your meal arrives. Good stuff!
The service at Patti's is good. I wouldn't call it great, but I suppose it depends on the server you get on any given visit.
The interior is homey, and offers a country atmosphere. Positioned next to the restaurant, is a gift shop of sorts, where you can buy Patti's cookbooks, meat rubs, dressings, and other trinkets. It's a nice way to pass the half hour or so that you usually have to wait for a table, on any given day.
After you dine at the restaurant, be sure to take a stroll along Kentucky Lake, just across from Patti's. It's a nice way to walk off some of the calories you've consumed, enjoy a sunny day, and relax. Beautiful scenery. Nice place to visit. I recommend.
Patti's 1880's Settlement and it's associated Restaurant is a tremendously successful but slightly touristy sprawl consisting of 2 restaurants (Bill's and Patti's), numerous shops, petting zoo, miniature golf course, and a small chapel amid a small serene maze of well landscaped babbling brooks. The restaurant itself is adorned with antiques and especially notable by the explosion of dried flowers that must have occurred at some point because they seem to adorn every imaginable surface. They serve a delightfully warm bread baked in a small flower pot along with the most sumptuous strawberry butter I have ever had the pleasure to run across. While the menu is rich with well thought out southern delicacies like fried chicken salad, catfish sandwiches, and the Kentucky Hot Brown it is the pork chops (1 inch and 2 inch) that are the stars of the show. Â If southern food is not necessarily your cup of tea they also offer a large variety of other dishes that might be more to your liking. Leave room for southern style dessert however as the Kentucky chocolate pecan pie, various 6-inch meringue pies, chess pie, and Boo Boo pie are definitely worth making your dentist a little bit richer.
