We read the reviews -weren't sure if it was going to be good-but the menu was to our liking and we checked it out since we were doing some boating in the area...
It was OK...not the worst-definitely not the best-but still worth a visit because in Kenosha where it's such a small town to begin with, your choices are very, very limited.
THE GOOD-
* cool inside, even better rooftop! Really pretty, nice ambiance, fire pit in the middle.
*staff seems nice, my waitress was.
*drinks- they had a pretty good selection of "fun drinks"
BAD-
The food : ( Â
We didn't have the pizza-which was probably the best bet here...
Had the Ahi tuna- not the best or freshest piece-..the jicama under it was the best part of this dish- it was tasty and refreshing..
The "potato latke" was an atrocious soggy, greasy mess-flavorless too-it was an undersalted, overcooked, etc.
Scallop appetizer-bland and over cooked.
Pasta -cavatappi with neopolitan sauce  described as a 3 cheese tomato sauce - sure it was tomatoee but cheese too? None that I could find...
BOTTOM LINE-
They are trying, so at least come here for drinks and the atmosphere but maybe eat somewhere else before you come though...
I just went to Pazzos for the first time on the night of 1/12/13. Â First of all, I ordered 2 long islands only to hear "Ok, that will be $22." Â WHAT?!?! I have not had to pay $11 for ONE long island at ANY bar in Racine, Kenosha, or Milwaukee, EVER. Â That was absolutely ridiculous and of course I had to pay for it since he already made the drinks. Â I'll be sure to ask the price next time! Wow.
After that, I observed the dance floor for a while only to come to the conclusion that the DJ was NOT good. Â He played some top 40s, but just made poor choices as in there are MANY better songs he could have chose to have the dance floor actually dancing and enjoying it. Â I know a lot about music, and I will not be coming back here. Â All I know is that if you truly love to dance and don't want to go broke after your first drink (or go broke and have it actually be worth it), a trip to Milwaukee is WORTH IT.
I was shocked to find a restaurant of this quality in small-town Wisconsin. Pazzo (ironically similar to my favorite Baltimore restaurant, "Pazo") is a far cry from your anticipated Cheese State dining experience. The dark wood, warm lighting, and high ceilings combined for a surprisingly stylish atmosphere, and the outdoor rooftop patio was a lovely venue for the warm summer night. I was shown to my table and provided with a tempting menu and wine list. The server provided helpful recommendations without over-inserting himself, and I couldn't help but feel a bit pampered as I gazed out on the moonlit town over a glass of Spanish red.
Pazzo offers a combination of tapas, salads, and rustic pizzas. The tapas, however, were anything but "small". I ordered bacon-wrapped asparagus with lemon truffle oil, and the ancho chili filet: tender, pan-seared filet over smoked-pepper mashed potatoes & balsamic chorizo brussel sprouts. The plates arrived, and my jaw dropped at the beautiful presentation and generous portions (see photos). They tasted even better than they looked. The crispy bacon was contrasted by the fresh roasted asparagus and tangy lemon, infused with the earthy flavor of the truffle oil. The filet was out of this world: perfectly grilled on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. The crunchy sprouts and mashed potatoes were the perfect accompaniment.
What better way to top off a rich, indulgent meal, than a huge helping of decadent dessert!?! Guilty. So Guilty. But so worth it. I couldn't resist my waiter's description of their moist brownie topped with chocolate whipped cream, fresh berries, and then drizzled with chocolate & caramel... all in a bittersweet chocolate shell. I shamelessly  mmm-ed, ooo-ed, and aaa-ed my way through the heaven that was this dish. This dessert is a requirement on your next visit.
Overall, Pazzo took my Kenosha experience from 3 to 4.5 stars, so I dole out this review with pleasure. This spot is a must the next time you're in town. I'd even recommend it as a destination for surrounding areas. Delicious.
