I've been to Peabody's a few times. They have great specials different days of the week but I'm particularly fond of $2.00 burger Monday. Their burgers are huge so it's hard to tell how they can even afford to run a deal like that. The meat is good quality and I love adding their blue cheese to my burgers. I learned that there is a fine line between well done and burnt to a crisp, though. The last time I got a burger well done from Peabody's it was more burnt than anything. It isn't enough to keep me away for good, but I will definitely be ordering my burgers medium well from now on. The house cut fries are well seasoned and always fresh out of the fryer (and thank goodness for that, because they kept me from going hungry last time). As far as atmosphere is concerned, I think Peabody's is a great place... during the day. It's a nice relaxing place to enjoy lunch and a few games and maybe a drink or two. The evening, however, is a whole different story. I made the mistake of calling in a to go order after work at 10pm on taco tuesday, and I felt overwhelming anxiety just trying the get into the place. The front was crowded with drunk college kids smoking cigarettes while blocking every bit of sidewalk and when I finally got inside to pick up my order the music was so loud it gave me a headache. I don't know what I was expecting from a sports bar, so I suppose it was my fault not being mentally prepared for all the chaos on a Tuesday night. If you're into loud college parties, Peabody's is definitely the place for you. Oh, and that reminds me... don't bother with the tacos. Sure, a dollar for a taco seems like an awfully good deal, but it tasted too much like a cheap imitation of taco bell. Stick with the American cuisine, and you should be pleased.
