BEST STEAMED DUMPLINGS IN COLORADO!!!
The owner is consistently smiling and friendly and makes it a point to remember repeat customers. Â The food is some of the best Thai food I've ever eaten. EVER! Always hot and fresh and only spicy when you want it to be. Â All other Thai places should use Pearl of Siam as a template. Â Do NOT buy prepackaged dumplings or Phad Thai!!! This is as good as Thai food gets!
The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 (and this is my favorite restaurant in Aurora) is because of price. Â My girlfriend and I can't eat there for under $25 dollars, even with take away. Â I don't consider myself cheap and I always tip 20%, even with take away, but it really is on the pricey side for strip mall cuisine.
Otherwise, you should consider eating here!!! It's how strip mall dining, in fact, ALL dining should taste. Â I've paid far more for worse. Â It's worth the drive to Aurora.
I love, love, love this place! Â My husband and I have eaten here at least once a week since discovering it through some friends about a year ago. Â The owner, Peter, is one of the nicest people you will ever meet! Â Their tofu pad thai is our favorite, and is the best by far that we've ever had! Â We order it so much, they know our order and who we are immediately when we call. Â The drunken noodles, vegetable egg rolls and homemade coconut ice cream are also on our hit list. Â Our friend's son ordered the ice cream when we were there together, and we had to order him a 2nd bowl after the adults at the table finished his whole 1st bowl! Â
Amazing food + wonderful owner & family + supporting a small local business = you will get hooked on Pearl of Siam just like we did!
Been wanting to try this place for a while- first time tried going there on a Monday they were closed-doh! Anyways my mom came over and we were craving some Thai food so decided to try and order delivery. Since our order was quite large I was hoping they could go a mile out of their 3 mile delivery radius and luckily the owner agreed.
Now when we ordered the owner specified a 45 min wait- that's fine what was not great is that at about an hour and 15 mins we finally called and he hadn't even left the restaurant yet saying it got "busy." well that's all well and good but if it's going to take a good 45 mins after the initial quoted time then I prob won't order delivery again unless I don't plan on eating for over an hour.
However once the delivery guy- assuming it was the owner arrived he was very nice and apologetic...now onto the food. We ordered a variety of things including the crab cheese wontons, the tom kha kai soup, chicken satay, siamese fried rice with chicken, red & green curry with shrimp, beef with broccoli, and siamese grilled chicken. Â Go big or go home.
Holy moley everything was delish and I mean EVERYTHING. I'm not a fan of rice noodles so thus no pad thai but everything was spot on. The Tom Kha Kai soup was prob my favorite and had an amazing base that was just the right amount of spicy. Of course can't go wrong with chicken satay, wontons, or beef with broccoli. Â My hubby who had the fried rice finished his whole box so obviously no complaints there. The green curry and red curry were both delicious but as I'm partial to green curry I liked that one a bit more. The siamese grilled chicken with the sweet chili sauce was delicious and def a star.
All in all I was very impressed and will def come here again but prob for pick up or dining in. If the food hadn't been so freakin delicious I would be singing a different tune about their lack of service but the food def brought it home.
You won't regret coming here and they have plenty of dishes to suit seasoned and cautious foodies. Â Luckily this place is close to my house so I can frequent often-although that may not be good for my a$$.
We went their during the week and the host was the owner/chef who created all the recipes. Â He was very helpful in navigating the menu. Â I asked him what he wanted me to try and we decided on the red curry. Â It was delicious. Â He was very helpful with boxing up my leftovers....my wife and I each had a dish and we were stuffed afterward.
Will definitely return.
Phenomenal.
Shared a smattering of dishes with my family tonight.
Flavors were vibrant and evenly balanced.
Dishes came with a generous amount of vegetables, which were all very fresh.
Spice rating is literal (unlike many other establishments). Hot means HOT.
The wait staff was extremely attentive and kind, but never became annoying.
Who knew that such amazing food could be hiding in a strip mall in Aurora?
The only rival I know of is my (now second-favorite) Thai spot in Chicago.
I have been going here for almost two years, never went anywhere else! I recently moved to Portland, OR and miss this place SO much! It is the best pad thai in all of the Denver area, seriously.... I took my brother here who is a professional chef and he agreed, best pad thai he or I have ever had in Colorado.
I have tried almost everything on the menu(in chicken/tofu) and it is ALL amazing. Pad Thai, Drunken Noodle, Panang curry, pineapple curry, siamese basil, salad rolls, fish cake, all done perfectly. And when you ask for it spicy, they deliver!
The owner, Peter, is the nicest guy you'll ever meet and loves what he does, you can taste it in his food. I'm now on the west coast and have tried three different thai restaurants, none of which have come close to being as amazing Pearl of Siam is. Please open a place in Porland!!
A girlfriend of mine was craving Thai food and she swore up and down that driving to the 'burbs for Pearl of Siam would be worth it, no other place would do! Â So what could I say? Â She was driving.
After only a few minutes short minutes, we arrived at the restaurant, another venerable establishment tucked away in a strip mall. Â Because it was a Sunday evening, the restaurant was pretty quiet, so we were seated immediately. Â
We both started with soups, which were promptly served pipping hot. Â If my tongue isn't burnt after the first spoonful, it isn't hot enough. Â (My tongue was indeed scalded.) Â As for the spice levels, we both opted for the medium level. Â And thank goodness because I was sweating bullets in no time! Â I can only imagine what the hottest level brings...
For our entrees, my friend ordered drunken noodles while I went the traditional route, as I'm still learning Thai food: Â Pad Thai. Â Again, medium spice level. Â Everything about the Pad Thai was amazing: Â the texture, the peanuts, the flavor, the spice level (although I honestly could've upped it a notch), and the amount. Â I had plenty for lunch the next day (man, do I love leftovers). Â I tried the drunken noodles and while my friend loved it, I'm not a fan of the black licorice flavor, so that's certainly off my list.
Yep, my friend was absolutely correct: Â Pearl of Siam is excellent! Â Fantastic service and delicious food. Â Sure, it's a bit of a drive out to A-town, but it's most definitely worth it.
I absolutely love this place! Â Considering that the food is always great and the owner and employees provide you with excellent service, this is always the first choice for me. Â It's very close to my house which make it very convenient, the prices are very fair for the amount of food that you get; You will never leave here hungry. Â The owner Peter, knows that I don't like spicy food and remembers every time to make it mild. Â He really knows how to take care of his customers. Â If you are in this end of town and are craving Thai food, consider this place, you won't be disappointed.
Review Source:I cannot wait to return here to try the drunken noodles. Â We were so busy ordering other things, that I neglected to get them.
My Tom Kha Kai (coconut milk chicken soup) was one of the better ones I have had. Â The flavors and texture were ideal. Â I consumed this very quickly. Â The mango and sticky rice was a an odd, but tasty, dessert. Â The appetizers were all pretty decent. Â Once of my dinner companions had an upset stomach later that night, which may have been attributed to the pork pad thai, but it was not confirmed. Â All in all, I really liked this place.
Great Restaurant! The Papaya Salad in "Thai" Spicy is the best I've had this year. The Tom Yom is very delicious! Pad Thai is very delicious as well! Portions of the meal aren't small and aren't too big, as Goldilocks would say 'just right'. What makes this Restaurant such a great place is how the owner interacts with his customers. I've always been a firm believer if you're running a Restaurant the first thing you need too do is keep your customers satisfied and they'll be wanting to comeback!
Review Source:So while the soup had great flavor and the rice was good (a little too sweet) i got so sick from eating here that , since then, i havent been able to eat any thing that has coconut and/or mango in it. Im just reminded of the food poisoning i got from here. I have friends that love this place and think i maybe just was one of the selected few that had a bad experience. I still think that the food is good though.
Review Source:I am a thai food snob. So upon moving to Aurora I had to get an idea for the best, most reliable, authentic thai. Pearl of Siam never disappoints and the owner will remember you after just one or two visits. Go for the coconut soup, the fried rice, some crab won tons. Yum. Their fresh spring rolls are mouthwatering. The pad thai is so so but honestly this dish is so over hyped for thai food. You cannot go wrong here!!!
Review Source:How could I have lived in Aurora for over a year and not gone to this place sooner? Â One of our neighbors recommended that we check this place out, and we're glad we did. Â
The space they occupy isn't very big, but they make excellent use of it. Â The walls are decorated with Thai paintings and other crafts. Â The tables have lovely patterned tablecloths that are protected by glass tops. Â The thing that impressed me the most is that everything is kept extremely neat and clean.
The spice level is set from 1 (low) to 5 (high). Â I ordered a Siamese spiced soup (Tom Yum) level 2 and a Pad Thai level 3. Â My husband ordered the chicken coconut soup (Tom Kha Kai) level 1 and the drunken noodles level 1 (Yeah, he's a wimp when it comes to spice).
My soup had a wonderful flavor - it was brimming with robust, hot-and-sour tomato-y goodness. Â The spice was definitely a punch to the mouth, and although I started tearing up at the end and dripping snot bubbles into my napkin, I enjoyed every bite. Â I also got to try my husband's coconut soup and immediately decided that I would order it next time. Â It was freaking delicious. Â Funny enough, the pad thai, even at level 3, was less spicy than the soup. Â By that time, I was actually grateful for a dish that was a little less spicy and a little more sweet. Â The drunken noodles also didn't disappoint. Â I'm a huge fan of wide, chewy rice noodles and I helped my husband polish them off.
The owner, a delightful and charming man, praised us for cleaning our plates and noted that it was our first visit. Â He chatted with us and said that he hopes we'll return. Â Oh yes, we certainly will!!
Now this a Thai restaurant! If you want tradition Thai food, this is your best spot for the Aurora area. Don't waste your time with those Chinese restaurants that call themselves Thai.
I ordered the Pad Thai there and it was wonderful, besides the time i picked very hot. Even when my mouth was on fire they had some amazing Thai Tea which sent my taste buds to heaven.
Since the wife decided to go out with the girls tonight I decided it was time for the kids and I to go out ourselves and Pearl of Siam fit the bill perfectly. We went when they first opened years ago but for some reason never went back, after tonight I don't know why.
The owner ( I think) met us at the door and was over the top friendly and helpful. He explained to the kids what everything was and how spicy it would be. My 16 year old daughter and I each got the chicken Pad Thai. He told us to pick spiciness level and we both picked 3 out of 5, it was a bit spicier than I was expecting but it was very good.
My 12 year old son ordered the Drunken Noodles and ate all of it. We split an order of coconut ice cream it was good and the sticky rice in the bottom was an unexpected surprise. The waiter/ owner Peter really does treat you like you are a guest in his home. We are definitely going back soon.
We just ordered, what we thought, was a TON of food for our family for dinner. Â Unfortunately we are all STILL hungry. Â The portion sizes were so tiny!! Â All of our food only filled 1/4 of all the containers they came it!
We usually drive all the way over to Thai Chili and Sushi or Golden Saigon for take out twice a week, but wanted to try something closer.
Food was very unipressive. The curry was water thin!
Seriously, we couldn't believe it and thought about just bringing our order back for a refund. What a joke.
I am probably not as adventurous as most, so take my rating with a grain of salt. When I am looking to eat Thai, what I really mean is that I am hungry for Pad Thai.
I had never tried Pad Thai in Colorado before. Maybe it shouldn't make a difference, but each state has it's own take on "ethnic" food. What I learned here is that in Colorado, the Pad Thai is reddish. It's white out east. But don't let the color set you back. This was as good as the best Pad Thai I've ever had.
The service is outstanding as well.
Next time I will bring my wife (who actually orders different stuff) and I will update with her thoughts.
Love the Drunken Noodle! I've had lunch at the Pearl Of Siam a few times and have always enjoyed the experience. The staff is friendly and the food is delivered quickly. It has never been less than absolutely delicious! Tonight I ordered delivery for the first time. Food was delivered when it was stated that it would be, was still hot, and, of course, absolutely delicious. If you are a fan of Thai food, you can't go wrong eating at the Pearl Of Siam!
Review Source:Thanks to my friendly yelp app today I found a spot to eat when way out of my bubble in the burbs.
The owner was so friendly from the get go and even more when he learned my friend had traveled to Thailand. When we asked him for recommendations he was really honest and steered us to good choices.
We started off with the steamed dumplings that were light and tasty. Then shared the Pad Thai Woon Sen which had a type of noodle neither of us had had before. The flavors were great and it was perfect to share. Â Most dishes were $8-15 range.
If I were to find myself out in the burbs I would return here for sure
This place is the best!! Found it on yelp, about a month and a half ago, I love that its a family buisnss.
Ive gone in with my little sister, and her now 4 month old baby boy, and they already rememberd us the second time, down to our favorite dessert ( sticky rice and mango, you must try!). The food is truely a peice of artwort, and it tastes just as good.
Not only that, last time we went in we forgot the baby bag, that has my sisters wallet, her money, everything for her and the baby, we hadent even realized it till a few days later. We called, they had it, went in, and the owner asked her to go thrue it to make sure everything was there before she left. Now thats what I call good buisness practice! (Mind you my mommy owns her own buisness, so I understand how important it can be.) Sad to have to move back to Ca, But today is my birthday, and I get to have it once again!
I have been wanting to try this place for a long time. Â I finally got the opportunity last night. Â I dined solo and got a strange look from the waiter when I said it was just going to be me. Â I do enjoy dining alone sometimes!
Anyway, I ordered a small bowl of tofu soup and the Pad Thai Woon Sen. Â The tofu soup was kind of meh... it was something I could have easily made at home. Â I ordered it to try something new and as much as I will always try new things, sometimes it just falls short. Â The noodles, however, were great! Â Pad Thai Woon Sen is one of my favorite Thai dishes and Pearl of Siam pulled it off nicely. Â I really enjoyed it, but it seemed to be missing a touch of the flavor that I love so much.
Overall, Pearl of Siam is A-OK and gets a strong 3 star rating! Â I plan to come back and sample some of the other selections on the menu. Â I'll post an update once I do!
This is our new favorite Thai joint in the city, by far!
We ordered the spring rolls, which I'd never had with just a bit of cream cheese included with all the fresh ingredients, and they were delicious. The coconut chicken soup and Pad See Ew were cooked just to our level of liking for spice and were scrumptious as well. The mango sticky rice was fresh with plenty of "sticky" and seemed to have a hint more jasmine than I'm used to in the flavor - uniquely yum! Our Thai iced tea and coffees were great too.
The staff was unbelievably personable. Peter, our host and waiter, made a point to learn our names, even though mine was a bit of a challenge. He checked back every single course to see how things were tasting and how we were doing. After just one evening there I feel like it's now our neighborhood joint.
The decor was spacious and clean, which isn't always the case for a place that does take-out. And I usually figure the price of good eat-in Thai is that I'll need to wash the fry smell out of my clothes, but not the case here.
I already can't wait to go back.
I am so lucky to live in the delivery area of Pearl of Siam!
We ordered again last night and it was the best we'd had.
I got the Pad Thai Woon Sen, which is Pad Thai with made with silver noodles. Â Delicious. Â Mr. Mixer got the Red Wine Duck, which he really enjoyed. Â We also split Larb Kai, which is minced chicken spiced with chili-lime sauce, lemon grass, Thai herbs, sweet basil in garlic broth with green onions, red onions, and marsh mint (that was straight from the menu). Â It was delicious, but there was a bit too much of a fishy flavor (there must be some fish sauce in there somewhere) for me. Â
My other favorite, of course, is the drunken noodles. Â Awesome.
Let's go have some Thai food. Â Now.
This may be the pearl of Siam, but it's a simple bead to me. Â I mean, yes, Pearl of Siam has good food and the service is nice. Â The taste is not disappointing either. Â But the taste is also not spectacular, and as such, cannot make up for the smaller portions. Â That being said, this restaurant still affords four stars because it's worth visiting, if you are in the area or plan to take advantage of the lunch specials.
The Good & Bad Rundown:
+ flavor profile: balanced flavor, real Thai ingredients; 4/5
+ 90% consistency in flavor
+ good delivery
+ spicy actually means spicy (integrity, i like it!)
+ nice, friendly service
+ well-lit parking
- pricey; portions are a little on the smaller end
- stingy with the rice (served and sold by the pint)
Ultimately, I would and do support this restaurant. Â This place is pricey but not expensive. Â The food is good but not amazing. Â It's a place I've visited several times, and although I'm never disappointed with my meal, it's not my "go to" place. Â Nevertheless, I'm a fan and recommend taking advantage of the lunch specials. Â Cheers.

Okay...maybe, the Denver Post got it right? Â
"Egg rolls a fine starter, but skip the pad Thai" (skip a staple?)
Was in the mood for some Thai. Â Was planning on hitting Thai Garden, but opted to try this place. Â Why?
1. Â Positive reviews on Yelp
2. Â Our previous experience with Thai Garden's Panang Chicken was that it was too spicy (no mild option) - or maybe that was when they were Thai Basil? Â Anyways...
So off I went to get the egg roll, TYG soup (spicy), and panang chicken (mild).
Got home and all I must say is that a staple of Thai restaurants (the panang) was NOT good (*). Â Not sure what the problem was (off night for the chef?), but it was flavorless and salty. Â Yes, flavorless with a salt-kick. Â Maybe the peanuts were salted peanuts? Â Too diluted coconut milk? Â Or was that the MSG I was tasting?
Anyways, quite a disappointment. Â The egg rolls were very good (****). Â The TYG was very good (*****) as they did not skimp on the ingredients where there was mainly broth. Â These two dishes and the DP review of other dishes gave them a higher rating than if I were just rating the one bad dish.
I might give them a try again for their Drunken Noodles and maybe a  second try of the panang at medium.  I will update if given the opportunity.  I was really hoping for this one...DARN!
UPDATE1:
I added some tomatoes to the panang and it was much better. Â No more salty aftertaste. Â However, I cannot see changing the rating if I have to make the food taste better.
We tried Pearl of Siam for the first time as takeout. The gentleman that took or order was incredibly friendly and attentive to make sure he had all the details of our order correct. They offer delivery service within a 3 mile radius and he asked if we were sure we didn't want delivery since it was snowing !
When we arrived to pick it up the lady was a little cold and indifferent. They currently offer a small discount for military members. When the ID was presented she almost seemed put out by the fact. Â
The food was nice and hot. We got a few items to try and everyone seemed to like the Pineapple Curry Fried Rice. Â Since it's close we will probably try it again and hope for a little better reception upon pick up !
This is my favorite place for Thai takeout. It's only about 5 minutes away from my house so, for me, it's never out of the way - not that I'd really mind if it was.
As far as the food goes, I've tried nearly everything here. I haven't had anything disappointing due to taste really - but I have ordered something later to realize I wasn't really craving it, in which the fault lies with me and not the delicious Thai food. My personal recommendation is the Chicken Pineapple Curry (w/ extra chicken). It's ESPECIALLY delicious. Just be mindful of your preference of how spicy you like you food. It can make the difference between a delightful kick and first degree burns in your gastrointestinal tract.
The service is always friendly and quick. I think most people order out because I have seldom seen people actually eating there. Nevertheless, I'll be returning again and again to Pearl of Siam for my Thai food fix not far from home.
Oh and if you do decide to order take out, be sure to visit their website to print out a coupon for your order! Savings, HWOOO!!!
A teacher at Sunrise Elementary recommended this place for great food and I had to try it out. I headed over after school one day for some to go food. I had no idea what to order, my first time enjoying Thai food. Pearl of Siam is hidden between Safeway and Cici's pizza. I have lived there for 4 years and never have even noticed it.
I decided to try a coconut soup with shrimp to go. I was told that it would be 20 minutes, but only took about 5. I got home and the soup smelled amazing! I was a tad bit disappointed to find chicken instead of shrimp, especially since I paid extra for shrimp. It was still delicious and I can't wait to go back for some more!!
My husband and I just went this wonderful restaurant for the first time today, and wow, I was blown away by the classiness of this restaurant. Â First, Peter was a wonderful front of the house person, and made you feel at home immediately! With a great smile and demeanor, I was already knowing that this was going to be my next favorite restaurant. Â The food is fresh, authentic, and absolutely delicious. Â I can't wait to try something new, and basically everything on the menu!
Review Source:I have a hard time considering a life more than 5 miles from this place. I have lived nearby for about 2 years now and eat here regularly. I am also a fan of take away and delivery is occasionally available. I cannot think of an item I have only ordered once. I hesitate to share this gem and they are now open 7 days a week...
Review Source:When shopping at the Safeway near Tower and Hampden in Aurora, you may well wonder about the cute little Thai eatery a few doors down called Pearl of Siam. Well, wonder no more. This restaurant is a family favorite, and each thing I've tried has been memorable.
To start out, I like the moist, pillowy Fried Tofu, which elevates everyday bean curd to a state of supreme lusciousness. But there's also something to be said for the Steamed Dumplings, packed with pork and shrimp.
Notable main courses include Pad See Ew, an amalgam of fresh rice noodles, egg, Kana (Chinese broccoli) and light and dark soy sauces; the Indian-influenced Mussaman Curry, rich with peanuts and potatoes; and the stirfry called Pad Khing, zesty with fresh ginger and squinchy black mushrooms.
Round things out with a cool Coconut Juice (with chunks of soft baby coconut right in the glass!) and a slice of dense, eggy, creamy Siamese Custard - I ask you, how could things get any better?
Sawatdee ka! And keep Pearl of Siam in mind next time you're putting together that grocery list.
Cute little hole is the wall place.
I always get the drunken noodles - I love them, i can't get anything else.
Only gotten take out, but everytime I have gone if I have to wait, they serve me tea and make me feel at home.
My sister did order a salad with calamari once, it was fine - not amazing - but why would you order a salad from a thai place? Â She didn't like it because the calamari isn't fried - I'm not sure what she expected by ordering that . . .
Anyways, I think its a great little place with good food. Â In my quest to find awesome drunken noodles, this place is one of the gems.
Friday November 20th 2009:
For this time around its a toss between 3 stars to 3.5 stars.  I've made a reservation for the group and we were there for dinner.  About 9 friends and I, head to Pearl Of Siam.
It was for a dinner under the meetup group.  Though the service is not stellar as I want it to be, nevertheless, all the food that is order from the group came out.
Some of the members like the food, some feels its just OK, though I feel the food was a little disappointing from just looking at it.  Several of my friends order the Curry.  To be exact was the Green Curry.  To me, I feel its too watered down.
As for my own appetizers and entree, though I specifically ORDER them for EXTRA THAI HOT, it came out, short with MAJOR disappointment.  On that evening I ordered the Papaya Salad and the Seafood Pineapple Fried Rice.  The Seafood Pineapple Fried Rice contains Thai jasmine rice, eggs, onions, green onions, tomatoes, pineapple, nuts, raisins, and yellow curry powder.  It is served with cashews, cucumbers, carrots, and cilantro.
I wanted to order the Fried Fish, but they do not have the fish that I want so, I stick to what I feel like eating on that evening.  I also ordered the Chicken Green Curry for Hubs to go.
When the time we were there, before, during and after there are many more patrons dining in this restaurant.
I really do want to come back and see how things might differ.  If not, I shall seek for more Thai cuisine haunts in the future.
Nevertheless, I would like to thank Sandy, Peter and our waitstaff name John for accomodating to our needs that evening.
