Stopped off for a couple of beers made in house. Â Their "Lake Effect" is a solid American Pale Ale if you're a fan of the Pale Ale persuasion. Â A beautiful sunday afternoon provided some great scenery from the second floor patio. Just a short hop from the ever growing Canalside District makes Pearl Street's patio all the more inviting on a nice summer day.
Review Source:I hate to bash this place in any way because I love the food and they have a great beer selection, but the service there is pretty mediocre. It have been here numerous times before and after games/events and the overall attitude and service you receive from the employees isn't what it could be. I have had some good servers, but it always seems like some worker you come in contact with will put a damper on your evening.
Review Source:We just left there on a not so busy Saturday night after sitting for 15 minutes on the upper patio without any attention from wait staff. Â The restaurant came recommended from a Buffalo native but the disappointment went beyond the inattentive service. The beer list was uninspiring, the food menu underwhelming. Â Looking around us, most tables were also suffering from lack of service. Â That sealed the deal for us and we will never return again. Â As we left, two cheery hostesses greeted us with friendly "goodbye, have a great night!" already forgetting that they sat us just 15 min ago. Good night indeed, and good riddance.
Review Source:The food is terrible - buffet like. It's almost as if the attitude here is that they do so  much business being close to arena, who cares about quality?  The beer itself is fine. Not much better in Buffalo. Not saying it's great, but in a market where Labatt is loved this is as good as you're going to find.
Review Source:36 minutes to get our first beer. Service was non-existent. Went upstairs first, sat at a pub table. We were invisible to the wait staff. After 15 minutes, went downstairs and informed the Hostess. Seated at a booth, and STILL invisible! Get me a beer already! Food was good, beer just OK, but service sucked! Order a big beer, and when it comes, order another! Save time!
Review Source:I hear many people talking about this wonderful Buffalo gem and just wanted to interject my own 2 cents. Â While I've only been here and handful of times, I always find it to be mediocre at best. Â The beer selection is among the most unique downtown of course, being a brewery themselves. Â The location is amazing for sports fans and guests of Buffalo's downtown scene. Â However, I find the food to be wonderful sounding on the menu, and poorly executed. Â RARELY have I been more than just plain satisfied with my food, never impressed. Â The last time I was there I ordered their 'Hawaiian Pork Special' and asked the server if it was possible to make sure I didn't receive an overcooked, thin, dried out piece of pork.. she assured me she's let the kitchen know of my request. Â That confirmed my order and convinced me to skip the also great sounding burger special they were running that night. Â After waiting for what was actually too long to wait for an entree, I finally received my thin, dry, overcooked piece of pork, drowned in sauce to add some semblance of flavor. Â I was quite let down, also the service overall at this establishment was less than I'd expect.
Review Source:My wife and I were taking in the Sens/Sabres game on Saturday and decided to check out Pearl Street Grill beforehand. At first when we walked in the main floor was packed. As it was an hour and a half until game time and we wanted to grab a bite to eat I was thinking we might just end up grabbing a drink then heading to the arena for food since it was so busy there. We ended up wandering upstairs and discovering they had a game day buffet which was the perfect solution to our problem. We could grab a bite to eat and not have to wait to get a table and eat.
The cost was $16, which I felt was decent value. The buffet was pretty simple, with salad, pasta, chicken wings(you know you're in Buffalo when...), pepperoni pizza and roast beef sandwiches. This managed to kill 2 birds with one stone for me as when I go to a Sabres game I love getting a roast beef sandwich from the Aud Club, so the fact they had similar sandwiches at the buffet was awesome. I like how the bun for the sandwich had a bunch of seasonings on the top, it was a classy, tasty touch to the meal. We ordered one of the Lighthouse Premium Blond and it was quite good.
The staff was welcoming and friendly, even with the fact I was wearing a Senators jersey. I was told this was "the" place to go before a Sabres game and I definitely have to agree.
The Pearl Street Grill & Brewing Co. is a Buffalo gem! We came here on a Friday night in January. To our surprise it was quite quiet, but maybe that was good.
Anyway, we were seated in a large, comfortable both overlooking, perhaps the Pearl Street's most famous feature, the belt operated ceiling fans. Our server was excellent, and did not sugar coat his views on the menu. We ask for a sample of their unique, berry soda, expecting a sample in a little mouse fart of a McDonalds ketchup cup, he actually brought out a full on glass of the soda.
I ordered the pot roast with their famous brew. It was nothing short of fantastic! The beef was FALL OF THE BONE and it had just the perfect blend beer in the gravy.
Anyway, The Pearl Street Brewery is truly an original. The building itself has beautiful, rugged features of the 1800's that make this establishment one of a kind.
If your in Buffalo or a Canadian on a day trip to the galleria to get some American steals, ditch the food court and stop at Buffalo's own Pearl Street Grill & Brewing Co.
This place is awesome!! Â In a city full of drab and dreary it's a refreshing crag of brewed solstice and eats. The wings were tasty and hearty amidst a city that competes heavily for this appetizer. We had the teaser beer sample and I really liked the Double IPA. I don't think I'll ever be in this city but will be here for sure if I ever am.
Review Source:Well, dear reader, I have some news for you. Â This right here, this marks a little bit of personal history for me. You see, reader, this is my 600th review. Â That's right, 600. Â This is significant for a few reasons:
1. I realized in the last year, I've seriously declined the rapid clip at which I was churning out reviews - a rate of 200+ per year for my first two full years on Yelp, and only 100 in the last 14 months. Â I'm getting lazy in my old age. Â It's like Yelp's version of getting fat...er...i mean...happy weight when you've settled into a good relationship. Â Sorry to report (not sorry) that as my life has gotten fuller, my reviews have gotten sparse.
2. My 500th review, my last big milestone, was in December 2011. Â HOLY SHIT have things changed since then. Â Drastically. Â Life-altering changes. Â Just 100 reviews ago, I was waxing poetic about Churchill's lounge (secretly not able to go back there due to an elaborate set of life-stipulations), unknowingly about to walk into a life-trap of epic proportions. Â This time, on my 600th review, having renewed my relationship with Churchill's AND dodging life-traps, I am going to wax poetic on one of my favorite little places in the entire universe, and one of the places I hold dearest to my heart (and will never forget, partly because there is photo documentation and partly because the sheer happiness of the memories have burned into my brain)...Pearl Street.
Pearl Street Grill and Brewing Co. is a magical place. Â Dare I say, it's what dreams are made of? Â Well it is. Â First off, it's a mammoth of a building. Â HUGE. Â There are like 17 stories and a thousand different rooms. It's the freaking Labyrinth of pubs and reminds me of what's wrong with Boston...no space. Â Each room has a pub feel, an old-ness while still maintaining its young-person draw. Â Every turn has character. Â
At 11am on a weekday, there's NO ONE here. Â In fact, we had to wait til the place opened for lunch to be seated. Â This, of course, meant we got all-star service. Â We sat on the patio though it was basically windy and freezing outside, because the view was insane and the patio was technically shielded from the outside anyway. Why were we here at 11am on a weekday, you may ask. Â Well, dear reader, I had tried so hard to have a delicious beef on weck in Buffalo, many times, and never succeeded. Â Wasn't in the cards. Â So on a last-ditch effort (a Hail Mary, if you will), we came here on the way to the airport for one last shot. Â
It was like the stars aligned and the angels smiled down on me that day (in more ways than one, but on to that later). Â though I'd been hunting this elusive "amazing beef on weck" in Buffalo countless times, I finally found it here. Â Everything about it was perfect - the beef was juicy and rare, and it melted in my mouth. Â The bread was dense and chewy, but moist and fluffy as well. Salt crystals and caraway seeds danced in jubilee down my gullet. Â AND THE FRIES WERE GOOD. Â Damn. Â It's a good thing an otherwise-amazing IPA was served flat, else my head would have exploded. Â
Finally, I found it. Â I had been searching so long for it, and just as I was about to throw in the towel and go back home, I found it in the last place I would think to look - the place that was so exactly the opposite of what/where I would go searching. Â The most surprising reveal: There on that patio that day, I found it in the unlikeliest of places. And it was perfect.
Little did I know, dear reader, that I would be sharing my seemingly-accidentally-perfect meal with the people who would soon become my family, in a place that feels like home. Â And that, my friends, is my Lucky 600.
I have never had a bad experience at Pearl Street. The staff is friendly, personable, and all-around awesome. Even on busy nights, which always coincide with Sabres games (If you're in the area for a game, this is definitely THE place to go!), I have been pleasantly surprised at the short wait time.
If this is your first visit, you can't go wrong with the Ditch Digger burger and a teaser flight of their craft beer. The teaser is extremely representative of their entire draught board, which is great when you want to sample everything at once. Even though I'm a big fan of the Ditch Digger (mmm, onion rings), you really can't go wrong with any of the burger selections. I've never tried most of the entrees on the menu, but I've heard friends rave about the pot roast and fish fry, too, if that's your thing.
My only complaint is that some of their beer selections have a mild watery texture, particularly the fruity brews, like the cherry wheat and blueberry blonde. Â While this is an extremely minor, superfluous con, It does prevent me from ordering teasers every time I visit, which is something I like to do. If you're looking to simply try their best brews and move on, definitely go with the Trainwreck (which is their most popular) or the Lighthouse (which is a personal favorite).
We came here before the B's Sabres game and I am so glad we did. Trekking around Buffalo it sort of seemed like a bit of a wasteland. Nothing really around, and this bar had good reviews. The ambiance inside is awesome- the fans with the rotating pulleys was great (maybe that's just the engineer in me..). The beers are obviously made by the brewery, so it was nice to get away from the generic choices other places have. The food was ok, but definitely higher quality than I would have expected (with some interesting options as well).
The service was a bit slow at times but was always cordial and polite; we got there early and it was packed a couple hours before the game started. Â The other people at my table got the beer sampler, while I got a 22 of the Lake Effect which was delicious. Even though we were outsiders in our Bruins gear we weren't once treated differently. Best thing of all? The price. It was dirt cheap compared to other places. Â A 22 of the 6% ABV Lake Effect was only a little over 5$. That's peanuts compared to anywhere else.
If I am ever in the area again, this is where I'll go before the game.
This was the first time here in about 3 years and I had a great time! Â It was Friday night, right before a hockey game and I was surprising my husband. Â The waiter (unfortunately I cannot remember his name) was fantastic and didn't rush me out of the table as I was waiting!
I was fortunate enough to get the specials menu and had the roasted vegetable flat bread and it was FANTASTIC!! Â The flavors was amazing with the grilled veggies and pesto and the flatbread was flavorable with a crispy crust. Â Very very good. Â The lighthouse beer was light and tasty, but the Wild Ox (wheat beer) was GREAT! Â My husband had the cheeseburger and said it was cooked perfectly. Â It was a great experience!
My friend and I came in here and ordered a place of pickles and potato chips and a flight of beer.
We only got one pickle each to our dismay, but a lot of potato chips. The potato chips are homemade and super delicious. I was incredibly surprised.
The flight of beer was interesting, we liked a few of the beers, the lighter ales and the blueberry points.
Pearl Street wins MAJOR points for the potato chip and pickle combination and the no questions asked waiter.
We were there right after a game ended and it was emptying out.
Went here before heading to a sabres islanders game a few seasons back.
The train is about a block away, and the all the big name hotels are about a 20 minute walk. So no need for a car. I did see some street parking and a few pay lots.
the Night I went it was very crowded with all the fans getting ready for the game.
This place has tons of seating, I think its like 3 or 4 levels up. So we didnt wait too long to be seated. Staff is friendly and service was fast for such a packed place.
Food was good, but not the most amazing Ive eaten.
Had a beer here cant remember if it was a blueberry or raspberry flavorr, but it was delicious.
Next time I am in the buffalo area I will definitely stop here again.
Their food is OK, but nothing special. I do like their selection of beers but don't like that some beers (like Bud Light) aren't available for people who that that type of beer. I love that they have multiple floors with bars and in the summer, the outdoor space is really nice...you could get lost in this building! The weddings I've been to here were really nice. Overall, its a fun place with a good atmosphere.
Review Source:Great place for a few drinks before or after a Sabres game.... which thankfully will be coming up again. Â I kind of wish there were more things around it, though, since its kind of on its own island downtown.
Pretty much has everything I could ask for in a bar: Large space with multiple bars? Check. Â Good for events? Check. Bubble hockey? Check.
I've been to Pearl Street about a half dozen times since moving out to Buffalo, back in 2009. I have never been disappointed! A few of my favorites are the fish fry (wonderfully crispy and fresh) and the turkey club (or anything with their homemade potatoe chips!) My boyfriend and I will often go before a Sabres game, back when they were playing, and even though there would be a long wait for a table we wouldn't mind waiting. The bartenders and wait staff is always so nice and helpful.
I also had a work party at one of the banquet halls and it was catered very nicely! it was a great atmosphere and the food and service was wonderful.
I always think when in doubt, I will come here and never have a problem!
I was in Buffalo on business staying at the horrible Adam's Mark hotel so I needed a good beer and a good meal. Â I walked over to Pearl Street Grill with a colleague and started off with wings and a Lake Effect Pale Ale.
The medium wings had a good amount of kick, but not so much it made them impossible to eat. Â Then I had a Sabre's Edge Double IPA and the burger maximus which I enjoyed as well.
The wait staff was attentive and very knowledgeable about the beers. Â Would certainly go back the next time I am in Buffalo.
UPDATE 9/10/12: Â Took those complimentary Pearl Street Bucks that manager Josh sent me after our previous not-so-great experience back in June. Â I did NOT mention it to the waitress before our meal, as I wanted to make sure we didn't get special (aka fake) treatment. Â Well, I have to say, it was fantastic this time around. Â Food, service, everything!
I really really wanted to try their new Pumpkin Ale, but alas we were all a bit worn out (read-hanging) from a day-long party the day before so we stuck with soft drinks.  Started out with the spinach & artichoke dip - we could have eaten it with a spoon (I think my dad did, as we ran out of pita!)  The server did bring more pita, but we just couldn't wait  - oops.  Bt the pita was great on its own too, so we ate it sans dip.  Dip is also served with carrots, celery & broccoli for dipping; I personally wouldn't bother with the broccoli, Pearl St - stick with celery, carrots & more pita!
We made this evening into a birthday dinner for my 3 year old (I didn't tell wait staff, as we had a cake waiting at home.) Â She had the mac & cheese which came with 2 sides (applesauce & fries are what she chose.) Â Nice & obviously homemade, but not so 'weird" that she wouldn't eat it! Â I HATE when places charge you $6 for boxed Kraft Dinner, but on the other hand some places make it inedible for toddlers (like she's into Gouda at her age?!) Â This was nicely done.
MY dad (who never goes anywhere but Chinese Buffet & maybe Danny's on a good day) ordered the fish fry - he reports that it was a good, fresh piece of fish with good fries & cole slaw. Â I think he may have liked some mac salad on the side, but he didn't comment on it. Â Mom ordered the shrimp salad: Pan seared shrimp over a bed of mixed greens with fresh onions, peppers and mushrooms, served with a Sweet Chili Vinaigrette. Â The shrimp were obviously fresh (meaning not precooked frozen.) Â I thought the dressing was a bit spicy for her tastes, but she loved it. Â All the greens & veggies were really bright too - YUM!
Hubby had the cajun chicken sandwich. Â Good, but he always wishes things like this were spicier. Â I went for the filet mignon sandwich - a bit hard to bite/eat, but not because it was tough - it's just a litte tricky chewing on a piece of steak on a bun. Â Perfectly cooked to order, tender & juicy, on a nice soft roll. Â I am in love with their big fat fries too.
I gave the waitress our blank Pearl Street Bucks & she took it, no questions asked. Â I left her a big fat tip, of course - the service was fantastic this time around. Â I will defintely be back - THIS visit is more what I'm used to when it comes to Pearl Street! Â :)
[ATMOSPHERE] I came here after ducking out early from Thursday at the Harbor. This place is huge-- a staircase leads to a cool second floor where all the games are at. There are several bars where you can order drinks at. The game area is loads of fun. There are 2 pool tables, darts, air hockey, and bubble hockey. The nearby quarter machine is the go to for all of these awesome games.
[BEVERAGE] I had their Raspberry Stout which I thought was quite impressive. I don't typically like Raspberries but I do like stouts-- so I gave it a shot.
[PRICE] Games are cheap and the beers are decently priced as well. Definitely a repeat kind of place.
*** This is a review for PEARL STREET at THE WEBB
I've never heard of this place before last friday when my gf's work had a party there. This place was awesome! Walking into this place you're kind of wondering what this run down exterior of the building is going to contain inside of it and BEHOLD pure wonderment! The party areas were beautiful with high ceilings and great decor. The catering aspect of the party was so-so. I'm not sure if they had more to offer and my gf's company was just taking the cheap route, but nonetheless, this is the kind of place you definitely want to keep in your back pocket if you ever have a function and need a spot.
Cool place to sit back and have some food or drinks. Many beers on tap and the food menu is fairly extensive. I think there's 4-5 stories to this place with bars on each level. Some are closed off for parties, however, there's enough to do on each floor you won't have to miss 1 or 2. I've been here for a few birthday's and a few get-togethers. Though the building looks great inside and out, I don't find myself suggesting this place when a friend and I are trying to figure out where to go.
This place is great to be near the arena during a hockey game if you don't have tickets to the game. You can be right near the action and enjoy it from a glance away. They do run specials from what I remember, but some of the prices will seem a bit steep for what you're ordering, but hey that's just them standing behind their product. Judge for yourself if the money is worth it, but the experience walking into the place and spending some time there is worth a try at least once.
I moved away from WNY five years ago, but whenever I visit I make Pearl Street a priority. Â I recommend going there DURING Sabres games...after the game has started. Â You will be seated promptly and they have the game broadcasted all around you so you won't miss it if it's important to you. Â I am not a fan of restaurants with televisions, but I put up with it here because the food and the beer is good. Â
The ambiance is great, dark and cozy with tasteful and interesting decorative touches. Â Another reviewer mentioned that it was "steam punk" I could find myself agreeing that there is a turn of the 20th century feel to the place and the fans are really something.
If you go in the summer, dine on the balcony. Â They have a great fish fry and I had a venison burger there once that could have been my last meal and I would have died happy. Â
Order one of their beers, they have quite the selection. Â If you are stumped the waitstaff is really good at making suggestions as per your tastes (a must for a brewery) or they have a color-coded chalkboard in the main bar that I usually refer to because I don't like dark beer. Â I love the Blue-Eyed Blonde. Â I mean I love it. Â That's one of the main reasons I go.
the Beer is most excellent. Â The patio has a pleasant view of channel 7, the mark & the lake.
Food is mediocre at best. Â The Kegger was the best sandwich they ever had, and no longer on the menu. lame. Â
The environment can be extremely loud and annoying. Best for off nights, but you won't find much of that in the summer, better in the winter when there aren't sabres home games in the evening.
Wow, I never give bad reviews but PSGB really let us down. Â We were a party of about 14 with advanced reservations. Â Being a Friday, in Buffalo, Fish Fry's were ordered by 6 of us. Â After receiving our Fry's the consensus was that the Cole Slaw tasted off. Â Actually the comments were it tasted: off, funny, not right and awful. Â No one had more than a fork full and 1 didn't even want to try it. Â What was also disappointing was when brought to the attention of the server nothing was made of it. Â Not that we wanted more Slaw but some recognition would have been nice. Â We just wanted someone to know they should check it before more was served.
Also the Fish wasn't very good by Buffalo standards. Â The batter wasn't very good. Â It tasted thick, almost gooey. Â
The few "good" comments came from the children with us. Â I guess the grilled cheese and the burgers were OK.
Service/ambiance - I'm extremely impressed with the interior, which has an almost steam punk feel with the pulley fans, classic wood, and brewing equipment dotted about the place. Large, comfortable booths and a huge amount of tables, inside and on the multi-level patio (which sadly has a TERRIBLE view, not the restaurant's fault, but sitting outside is nice in good weather). Despite all this seating it is often hard to get in here on peak days - call ahead, especially for larger parties. The service is always excellent - prompt, friendly, helpful. On the negative it is a VERY LOUD establishment, partially due to just how busy it always is and partially due to their propensity to host parties (wedding receptions, bachelorette pre-games, etc). This can be fun, but it can also ruin the experience when you can't hear your table-mates.
Food/drink - My food experiences here have varied from just okay to very good and their food is reasonably priced for the type of items they serve. The menu is largely pub-based fare but they have some upscale options. The drink selection is of course excellent - I really like the blueberry ale.
Other - There is a lack of parking in this area when the place is busy - expect to park for or have to pay to park in a lot.
First the good - I have to say, if you get invited to a catered event with reserved space at Pearl street - go. They know how to treat their parties, I've been to a few different events there, and I think that they are one of the rare places that actually does their food better catered then individually. Maybe it's because they have more time to dedicate to these people, when one of their many floors is not packed to the brim.
I can't help feeling that, with Pearl street's over all massiveness, they possibly have sacrificed some of the positives of a local restaurant, sort of like when you go into a chain bar and grill. The interior feels slightly like going to the mall location of TGI Friday's when you walk in. No matter how nice staff is, if a place is jamming like crazy it is hard for them to really spend time on you or your food I think. This is the main problem, for me, with Pearl street.
I do like a few of their microbrews, and think it's definitely worth taking beer lovers who have never been there before to try out. I would not recommend going during a Sabres game - when the quality of the food definitely goes down. Also, I have always liked their bartenders.
I do have to say this about the staff - they CAN handle it, it's not like the food or service is HORRIBLE when it's crazy there it's just not as good. And I think to be really good, you have to be consistent.
This is a huge place. Â Very popular too.... as a restaurant, as a bar, and as a reception place for weddings and such. Â A group of eight of us had a late lunch (early dinner?) here this past Saturday after the Buffalo Wine Festival. Â
Our waitress was friendly and efficient and even would have given us all separate checks, if we wanted (which we didn't because we're a very civil and fair group) AND didn't put a tip on the bill for herself (I HATE that!)
I ordered the turkey croissant sandwich (bacon VERY crisp, please). Â It arrived in a reasonable amount of time and was quite nice to look at. Â It was just so-so tasting though. Â The croissant and lettuce and tomatoes were nice and fresh, but the turkey had that clear-ish slime all around the edges that kinda grosses me out.... and the bacon, while looking well done was the consistency of a strand of licorice and had no crunch to it. Â The mustard served on the side was spicy-licious though. Â I ended up pretty much eating a lettuce and tomato sandwich with lots of mustard on a croissant. Â The sandwich was accompanied by (homemade, I think) potato chips that were a bit heavy on the Lowery's Seasoned Salt... but the pickle on the plate was just about perfect.
Hmmmm well I think I need to visit a second time and try some of the other beers and food. I think I ordered wrong....
I mosied on up to sit at the bar. After I ordered my beer- my server let me sample before I chose. Nice! Glad I opted one over the other. But as I got to work on my pint of Lake Effect Pale Ale (super good) I noticed that you could get a sampler of 10 of their beers. DAMN IT!!! I'm all about samplers.
Then I ordered the soup of the day- Shrimp bisque. It was really nice, pipping hot. A little while later my mussels came out. They were on the smallish side but in a nice beer broth. The mussels are a new dish on the menu, but they didn't blow me away like the bartender suggested they would. I'm kind of annoyed with myself because I really should have ordered the veggie sandwich or their wild boar burger. And gotten their homemade potato chips and see how they compare to my homemade potato chips...durrr.
I thought the bartender who waited on me was great. I travel and eat alone alot and it really seems to freak restaurant people out. (Hmmmm JUST one?!?!? Yes, unless I absorbed my twin in utero.) But it didn't faze this guy. Other then that nothing here managed to WOW me. But nothing soured me to the experience either.
I came here for a wedding so I'll be reviewing on the food, service and bar.
I love their beers! Awesome selection! There was one beer that tasted like raspberry and chocolate and I was in love. Their cherry ale was amazing as well, almost better than Sam Adams Cherry Wheat...almost.
The buffet was not bad at all, their chicken and pasta was very delicious. The servers were very attentive and the hostess did an amazing job catering to me (I was maid of honor) and the best man and of course the bride and groom.
My only concern was the "DJ" which was a waiter..he was playing Adele - Someone like you...why would you play that at a wedding?
Great place for pre-game eats or to stay and watch on the multiple TVs throughout the place - definitely has a sports crowd during games but is a great place regardless. Â The interior is very cozy, with everything being made out of wood and high ceilings which let you try to follow the very old but very functional fan system!
It's not on the menu but the steamed broccoli is a healthy alternative to the homemade chips (which are very good, though!) Â The pizzas are a good choice (considering this is not a pizzeria) and if you're with a group, order a tube of beer!
Still bummed that they haven't yet added a cold cider to their pretty impressive brew list... it seems to fit the place so well, but maybe one day I'll finally be able to grab a Strongbow there.
In the summers the back patios are great! there's even a few seats that give you a view of the lake.
They do take reservations but if you're trying to make one before a Sabres game you'll have to call at least 3 days in advance... 5 to be safe. They always accept walk-ins on game nights, just be prepared to wait 60-90 minutes or head upstairs for the pre-game buffet (no wait!)
Have been here before. Having my wedding reception here in 2012, actually! Figured I'd leave a review anyways for my most recent experience. Went out with some friends, got a sandwich and some beers. Live music was playing and we got to sit right in front of the brewing room. Fun place to grab drinks after work or before a Sabres game!
My fiance got the beer tasters plank and it was really fun to try all their beers. I am partial to the Don Cherry Cherry Wheat and the Blue Eyed Blonde. However the chocolate and chocolate raspberry stout were really good too.
I love Pearl Street. This place just keeps growing and getting better along with it. They have over 15 of their own beers on tap. The Black IPA is the bomb. Sabres Edge (a double IPA) is also good. Remember I loved the chocolate stout when i had it back at Christmas time.
I usually stop in here if I am going to a Sabres game. Its a great spot to stay and watch the game too. Food is traditional pub food. I like their Friday Fish fry. The patios they put on a few years back really helped the overall atmosphere too.
Truthfully this place is homegrown buffalo at its best. Check it out.
