Oh my goodness was this good tonight. We are stopping over for the night and all wanted Chinese food and this is where we ended up. The hot and sour soup was so good I ordered another bowl and then a quart to go. I will say that the popular dishes were prepared a bit different than other Chinese Restaurants but they were delicious. Veggies in the General Tsao... never have seen that before but it was delicious nonetheless. Shrimp fried rice... let me tell you about that... not your typical dinky "salad" shrimp, good sized medium shrimp and a lot of them and the dish is enough for two if you have an appetizer and a soup. The sesame chicken (some pieces) was kind of chalky in texture but still good. The pineapple pork was different and quite tasty to boot. The service was extremely good considering it was a full house, never had to ask for drink refills. The only bad thing... not enough parking... we had to wait for someone to leave to get a parking spot, but no big deal, people were coming and going at steady pace so didn't wait too long.

Blech. We had a long day of travel and wanted something familiar and comforting...and Chinese sounded perfect.  We ordered Crab Rangoon, Mongolian Beef, and General Tso's Chicken from the road and picked it up on the way to our hotel.

What a major disappointment. We weren't even sure we had the right order since neither main dish looked like anything we'd ever seen. The Mongolian Beef had cabbage and tomatoes in an orange broth (it wasn't thick enough to even be called a sauce)--see photo. The General's Chicken had peapods, carrots, bamboo shoots, and water chestnuts. WHAT?!?! Mongolian Beef and General Tso's Chicken are hard to screw up, but they did.

Had we not both been exhausted from 12 hours on the road (with two kids under four) we would have taken it back...but it was at least edible, even if it was screwed up.

I'd definitely avoid this place for take-out unless you've been there and know what you're getting.

Most awful Chinese food I've ever had! The service was not very good either.

I am a really big fan of Peking. Anytime my family passes through Wytheville we stop in here. The Hot & Sour soup is probably the best soup on the menu and it is much different from other Hot & Sour soups I have had. Very good. My wife sticks with Won Ton soup. I really enjoy the General Tso's chicken. I can't remember if I had Orange or Sesame chicken but that was really good as well. I did try something completely different one time and it was a chicken with peanuts and I didn't care for it. That is just my taste though. I know what I like here and I will stick with it. The service is always great. The food is always fresh and delicious. I look forward to my next visit.

In the various cities in which I've travelled and lived over the years, it was always fun to try all the different Chinese joints in town and narrow it down to the best.  This one is Wytheville's best and it's stood up for many years to the best of everywhere else.

Fresh ingredients, attention to detail, prompt service, and easy access.  Great for a solid dinner travelling.  Also, I find the prices to be exceedingly reasonable.  Consistent and tasty.

No, this isn't province-specific cuisine nor is it a pan-Asian emporium.  What they serve is quite good and is worth trying.

It's hit-and-miss at this restaurant. When it's good, it is SO good, but sometimes it's just OK. I always get the same thing (Sesame Chicken)  so I can't speak to any other dishes. We normally get take-out and it is always ready very quickly. When we do dine-in, the service has been very good.

This restaurant was billed as delicious by the lady at the front desk of our hotel.  It was mediocre at best. I am not particularly picky, not a chinese food connoisseur by any means, but all three of us were really let down by our meals.

working in this town this week and was Peking was recommended by my client. Absolutely Excellent! They have many more things to offer besides what is on the menu, we asked and they customized our dinner with excellence. i wish i lived nearby as i would return often.

Locally owned.  Outstanding won ton soup.  Good main dishes.  A real treat if you want to avoid chains near the motels.  Inexpensive drinks.

Sit down Chinese Restaurant.  The egg rolls were pretty good. I had the spicy sesame chicken. It was crunchy, sweet, spicy. My boyfriend had general taos chicken. It was a little spicer and tasty. If you want Chinese while you're here it should be good.

Just keep in mind that any Chinese restaurant like this does not serve authentic Chinese food. Just like Au Bon Pain doesn't serve authentic French breads and pastries.

If true Chinese food came to the US en masse, Americans would be vomitting left and right and screaming for the P.F. Chang's style American food with Chinese inspired names to come back, come back!

All that aside, this place, atop the hill and overlooking 81 and 77 is quite good and has consistently provided good service.

The best thing about this restaurant is that they don't use cheap cuts of meat.

The most popular item at this restaurant is super spicy sesame chicken, try it and you won't leave disappointed.

I yelp this place and saw a lot of good reviews, so i decided to try this place out. worst thing i done. I should of known this was probably the only chinese restaurant in a 200 mile range and the people in this town never really had authentic chinese food.  Thumbs way down on the food but the service was great thats why i gave it a 2 star.

The short version: good food (ask for "spicy" if you want "spicy," though), very good service, excellent prices for this jaded native New Yorker.

We went here because of the rave reviews about Peking, and pickings in this part of southwest Virginia are pretty slim.

1 1/2 stars would have been more like it.

The best part about this place is the lush decor.  Everything red, faux pagoda architecture, wow! What's not to like?

Well, um, the food. I ordered spare ribs as an appetizer. I love Chinese spareribs, and get them as a very occasional treat. I expected them to be roasted, dry, pinkish-brown, and chewy with a scent of star anise. Instead, they were had been steamed or braised to sogginess, and slopped with some kind of sauce at the end.  Not my kind of spareribs.

Two of us split an order of cashew chicken, which neither of us could eat much of. The brown sauce on the dish had no flavor other than salt. The best part was the cashews.

    A mistake I won't repeat.

Great food, even better prices! Stopped here in the middle of a road trip, and service was quick and attentive.  Perfect for lunch because the portions aren't huge, so you probably won't have leftovers.  Others at my table ordered the green tea because Peking doesn't serve sweet tea, and they said it was no good.
